Irish dark metal masters PRIMORDIAL have finished recordings for their upcoming album. "The Gathering Wilderness" is the band's fifth full length album and their first for Metal Blade Records.

States singer Nemtheanga: "With this album we wanted to challenge ourselves a little more, its very easy to slip into doing what is the easiest or the most uncomfortable and the previous 4 album had been done with Mags of Academy studios fame (MY DYING BRIDE, ANATHEMA, PARADISE LOST, etc.) but for Gathering we wanted to shake things up and try something different. So we got over to Ireland famed engineer Billy Anderson and changed the studio we had become used to using in Ireland. Basically in search of something different."

Novembers Doom New Album Update

Chicago- based doomsters NOVEMBERS DOOM have posted the following update:

“We are happy to announce that the mixing process with the amazing Dan Swano is now complete. Dan worked many long days and nights to make sure we were 100% happy with the final product, offering several versions of each song. We could not be more pleased with this entire process. Dan is one of the hardest working people in metal, and he treated Novembers Doom as if it were one of his own projects. We have a great deal of respect for him, and our eternal gratitude for making this as perfect as it is. Swano fans won't be disappointed either, as there is a guest appearance on the CD from him.

Therion Closes Down Official Website

As all good things must come to an end, for some time now I have been feeling that my time with this page is almost over. Due to many personal reasons, mainly me being overworked with other, more proffitable jobs (Hey, you gotta eat, right? The Therion page isn't really an employer.), I simply don't have the time nor the initiative to do stuff on this page, after I spend 15 hours a day in front of a computer screen. So I have decided to do the only proper thing, and that is to formally quit the Megatherion Intelligence Page project. I will do so in a matter of days, as I still have a lot of unsorted mail to sort (and forward to appropriate persons) and to add quite a lot of pictures from the gigs (thanx a lot for sending them people, they are great!) to add to the photo section.

As of today, this page has no webmaster but it's looking for one! If there's a Therion fan(atic) out there who is willing to work for free for the next couple of years, 1-2 hours a day, has appropriate linux/webdesign/php/perl/mysql/whatever needed knowledge and skills, and wants to seriously take over this page into his/her care, please send your inquires to: therionsociety.NOSP@M.bredband.net. Before you freak out with "Me! Me! I wanna do it!", do have in mind that Chris may already have someone else in mind, and if he doesn't there is really a lot of work to be done. It's not a simple job, but if you're applying then you already know that. Page currently has NO user interfaces, everything has to be edited manualy directly in Mysql, etc, etc, and whoever takes the job will have to build something and bring the page out of the stone age. Premonition To Show Off Its Scars

Here's an article from the Northwest Indiana Times on Premonition lead singer, Frank Spears:

Though heavy metal generally gets bashed as being the music of the devil, the wild-eyed and heavily-tattooed lead singer of dark metal group Premonition has been an angel to many people over the years.

By night he stalks stages as Tattoo Frank, one of the most well-known metal frontmen to ever scream his way to celebrity in region clubs. By day, he is Frank Spears, a savior to folks battling the demons of alcohol and drugs. A long-time substance abuse counselor, Spears now is an admissions supervisor for those seeking release from addiction.

"If they are ready to set their lives straight, people can call me anytime at 1-800-41-SOBER," challenged Spears. "There IS hope and there ARE people to help, but you just have to want it."

Though the Hammond native has been singing since discovering Ozzy Osbourne at age 6, he did not form his first band -- Shattered Image -- until he was 14 years old.

It was in the early 1990s after forming Black Sabbath tribute band Scarred that Tattoo Frank made his name. In Scarred, Spears sported garish black make-up and arrived onstage in a coffin.
