God Dethroned Finishes Writing New Album
Dutch death metal band GOD DETHRONED has finished the songwriting for their upcoming new album.
“We're ready! We finished 8 songs for our new album 'Passiondale.' Those of you who are fans of our 'Bloody Blasphemy' and 'The Lair of the White Worm' albums can take a deep breath now and wait out the time until the album comes out. Cause this motherfucker brings back all the good things you liked so much. Bringing back Roel to the band after all these years was a good idea. His drumming gave us the right vibe to come up with the stuff we needed for so long. We're really happy about the results and we can't wait to start tracking down those songs. We start recording on October 13th in the Soundlodge Studios in Germany.
"The album is a concept album about World War I and the song titles are: ‘Under A Darkening Sky’, ‘Behind Enemy Lines’, ‘Drowning in Mud’, ‘No-Man's Land’, ‘Passiondale’, ‘Poison Fog’, ‘Fallen Empires’ and ‘Artifacts of the Great War’. Stay tuned for more news 'cause we have some more interesting stuff in the works..."
"Passiondale" is to be expected for release in April/May 2009.
Turmoil Seeks New Singer
As previously reported, Turmoil singer Jon Gula recently left the band. Not surprisingly, the group is now in search of a replacement. Here's the official word:
"Ok, so here are the facts of the situation, the new CD is done and has been for months. There are 13 tracks (12 originals, 1 cover), half of which have finished lyrics. Vocals, on the other hand...
"So, we are indeed looking for a new singer. We didn't spend 11 months writing and rehearsing and recording a new record just to have it get shelved and never see the light of day just because of one line-up change. We've gone back and forth over whether we should change the name of the band or not, but the bottom line is, Eulogy Recordings signed Turmoil, so Turmoil it is.
"So how are we going to go about this, you ask? We are going to be releasing one of the unfinished tracks from the CD, tentatively titled 'Papercuts' online for everyone to check out. This is going to be an open invite for people to download the song, write lyrics for the track and submit them to us along with a vocal track for consideration. Just click here to download the track or just go to our Myspace page to check it out. One thing to keep in mind, WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A TURMOIL KARAOKE SINGER!
"We are definitely interested in hearing different vocal styles, anything from Deadguy to Torche to the Bronx to the Melvins to Sheer Terror to Exodus. We are looking to expand the dynamics of the band. We've already done it musically and we'd like to do it vocally as well. Also, ideally we'd like to have someone who can write their own lyrics. The lyrics that have been written don't have to stay. If you can come up with something better, we all win. We have set up an email address that you can submit your lyrics and demos to: turmoilvocals@gmail.com. Once we pick a winner and everything is cool on both sides we look forward to hitting the road full on."

Scars Moderator Issues Tour Cancellation Update
ResurrectionJunkie, a moderator for the official Scars On Broadway forum, released this statement on Daron Malakian’s surprising cancellation of the band’s upcoming tour:
"Some other facts from the 'inside' that I was given permission to disclose, in no particular order:
1. Daron is physically okay. There were some rumors about him having throat cancer and some other things like that. ALL FALSE.
2. Opinions and rumors about Daron's drug use, going to rehab, and all related things are wholly UNTRUE. Daron did not cancel the tour on some whim or out of some selfish need to fuck around at Disneyland or because he can't stop smoking weed or any other such nonsense.
3. There IS a personal issue that Daron is dealing with right now that is at the root of the tour cancellation. His message to the fans already summed this up in a purposefully vague kind of way. This issue was not disclosed to me and will not be disclosed to anyone outside the band because it is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS."
There are still no plans to reschedule the tour.

Blinded Colony Parts with Vocalist Denny Axelsson
Sweden's Blinded Colony has parted ways with singer Denny Axelsson as a result of "professional differences."
The group comments: "Blinded Colony wishes Denny the best of luck with his future endeavors and salutes the good times we had with him not only as a band member but as a good friend. With one man short Blinded Colony is looking for a new frontman! You should be a professional and charismatic singer who's got to be 100% commited and be able to tour. If you think that you got what it takes, then please send us a mail with some info about you, a pic and a sample of your singing (MP3, Youtube link etc) to singer@blindedcolony.com."
Foscor and Krv Put Together Split CD
Black Metallers FOSCOR, one of the very few bands of any genre who occasionally sing in their native Catalan language, has released a split CD with the Bosnian band KRV. Entitled "The Burial's Flavours," the CD contains 11 tracks total and is available on the Polish Diachell Muzik label.

The full track-listing as follows:
KRV:

VI. The Smile of the Sad Ones (live bonus track)
VII. L'Ombra de l'Adicció (live bonus track)
FOSCOR is currently in the process of writing and working on their third release. No studio date has yet been set, but the band is hoping to enter the studio to begin recording during the early part of 2009.
