Thaurorod Talks About Debut Album
Melodic metal band THAUROROD, who reviously produced two demos, has revealed some details on their upcoming debut full-length album in a recent blog posting:
"First of all, the album's title has now been decided. The title for the first album of Thaurorod will be 'Upon Haunted Battlefields.' Artwork for the album will be done by Henkka Villberg. The same guy who made the Artwork for 'Morning Lake' and 'Tales of the End.'
"We're still concidering about the studios that we want to use on mixing and mastering the album. However, the drums will be recorded at Studio Watercastle in the beginning of January.
"It seems like we will have to mix those two demo songs by ourselves and we are going to do that on the following weekend. So if all goes as planned we are able to send them for mastering on Monday!"

Comeback Kid Has Van and Trailer Stolen On Tour
During the morning of Thursday, Oct. 23rd, Comeback Kid had their van and trailer stolen outside their hotel in Montreal while on the "Through The Noise Tour." After driving to Montreal following a show in Drummondville, PQ, the band checked into their hotel at 2:30am and parked the van in a public lot. When they returned to the lot the following afternoon to go to the venue, the van was gone.
“We called around to make sure the van hadn’t just been towed,” said guitarist Jeremy Hiebert “and once we realized what had happened, we just tried to deal with it.” In addition to their van and trailer, the band lost all of their gear and merchandise, as well as their personal belongings.
While some people would be deterred by such an incident, Comeback Kid just forged on. Using borrowed gear they played Thursday night in Montreal, headlining the Through The Noise Tour with Misery Signals, Bane, Out Break, Shai Hulud and Grave Maker. They will finish the tour with dates in Toronto, London, Guelph and Hamilton before returning home and resting up before a South American tour in November.
Kill Hannah Narrowly Escapes Bus Fire
Screamo/metalcore band Kill Hannah narrowly escaped a bus fire this week while touring Europe and driving somewhere near the Swiss Alps between their shows in Bologna, Italy and Paris, France. Here's the report from the band:
"We wake up to the smell of toxic smoke and the serious tone of our Tour Manager shouting three words you never want to hear: "Bus on Fire." Within seconds all band members (including support act My Passion), crew and guests were standing shirtless and shoeless on the side of the winding road as the entire 2-floor 45ft bus was fully engulfed in flames. Windows began bursting from the heat and there were several large explosions. It took Swiss firefighters less than 15 minutes to respond to the blaze, but by that time the bus and virtually all of the band's possessions were lost: including luggage, clothes, passports, wallets, laptops, shoes, phones, and countless irreplaceable sentimental personal items, including many gifts given to us by fans as we've crisscrossed the UK and Europe over the last month on tour.
"We stood, surrounded by scenic snowcapped mountains, watching the scene in disbelief, comforting one another as the blaze was battled. After two hours we were permitted to return to the blackened shell of the bus in a vain attempt to retrieve anything that may have survived. Finally, we were all taken by charter to the Swiss village of Airolo where I write you now from a tiny hotel.
"Fortunately, aside from smoke inhalation and shock, everyone is fine, as is our trailer of gear and merchandise. Half of us are without shoes, and although we all smell like noxious smoke and chemicals, we are all warm in our own band's hoodies and t-shirts. The hotel has a bar and an accordion, so we will try to keep spirits high while we await our replacement bus from Manchester, England.
"The official cause of the fire will remain unknown until after tomorrow's investigation, but it appears to have started underneath the bus as it was driving.
"We are very sorry to have to cancel both our Paris and Belgian dates, but we expect to be in Stoke On Trent in time for Thursday's show.
"We want to thank the KH fans, our friends, our crew, our management, The Hotel Des Alps, the staff at Restorante Cristallina, and all the Swiss Emergency personnel for helping us through this traumatic day."
You can check out some photos of the bus ablaze and damage here.

Testament Recruits Guitarist Glen Drover For Tour
Bay Area thrash legends TESTAMENT have recruited guitarist Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND) to fill in for Alex Skolnick on their upcoming Mexican tour dates with JUDAS PRIEST.
Due to Alex's prior commitment to the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, the band sought out Glen Drover to fill in and rehearsed together all week.
Glen says, "I am really looking forward to playing these four upcoming shows in Mexico with my buddies in TESTAMENT, along with JUDAS PRIEST. We are totally going to crush!"
Alex Skolnick commented on his (temporary) replacement: "I regret that I'll be unable to perform at TESTAMENT's upcoming shows in Mexico this month. As many know, I've been touring with TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA since 2000, and it's been a blessing to be a part of both projects since reuniting with TESTAMENT in '05. I respect the TESTAMENT guys' decision to accept some gigs during this period, and I'm super happy to have Glen Drover filling in for me. I recommended him personally, respect his playing and know he'll do a great job. I apologize to any TESTAMENT fans for not being able to make it this time around but we have a lot of shows lined up in 2009 so far, all of which I'm on. Thanks for understanding, and I look forward to seeing everyone all over the world with TESTAMENT in 2009!"
Guitarist Eric Peterson commented: "I've known Glen since he played with KING DIAMOND, and if anyone can jump in, Glen can. Plus, Alex is happy with our choice."
TESTAMENT will be traveling to Mexico this week to play a string of dates with JUDAS PRIEST. See below for tour dates. The band is coming off a successful headlining run with SOILENT GREEN, to support their first studio album in nine years, "The Formation of Damnation."
Here are TESTAMENT's tour dates in Mexico with JUDAS PRIEST:
Oct. 27 - Monterrey, Mexico - Arena Monterrey
Oct. 29 - Guadalajara, Mexico - VFG Arena
Oct. 30 - Puebla, Mexico - Auditorio Siglo XXI
