Scars on Broadway Moderator Issues Tour Cancellation Update
ResurrectionJunkie, a moderator for the official Scars On Broadway forum, released this statement on Daron Malakian’s surprising cancellation of the band’s upcoming tour:
"Some other facts from the 'inside' that I was given permission to disclose, in no particular order:
1. Daron is physically okay. There were some rumors about him having throat cancer and some other things like that. ALL FALSE.
2. Opinions and rumors about Daron's drug use, going to rehab, and all related things are wholly UNTRUE. Daron did not cancel the tour on some whim or out of some selfish need to fuck around at Disneyland or because he can't stop smoking weed or any other such nonsense.
3. There IS a personal issue that Daron is dealing with right now that is at the root of the tour cancellation. His message to the fans already summed this up in a purposefully vague kind of way. This issue was not disclosed to me and will not be disclosed to anyone outside the band because it is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS."
There are still no plans to reschedule the tour.

Actually Cynic, I would have to disagree with you. He could have just said "Personal reasons" in the first place, instead of "i don't have my heart into it right now", which is such a bullsh** excuse it's bound to draw out those kind of responses. So I don't think anybody who spoke negatively against this guy with blanket accusations like the moderater reffered to were at all in the wrong.

"it's bound to draw out those kind of responses." - I disagree. To respond to "I don't have my heart into it right now" with insults can only mean you are an ignorant jackass, no excuses. That sort of lack of respect for another human is disgusting, a vile side effect of the anonymity of the Internet.
In any case, the reason I say that is because this is the second reply to people that has had to be posted, the first stated clearly "I would never cancel a tour unless I had real reasons and personal things that require my undivided attention."
