Empty Tremor Recording
Italian producer and multi-instrumental “genius” Daniele Liverani (Genius, Khymera) is busy recording the third EMPTY TREMOR studio album with his band-mates Christian Tombetti (Electric & Acoustic Guitars), Marco Guerrini (Electric & Acoustic Guitars), Dennis Randi (Bass) and Stefano Ruzzi (drums). The recording process took longer than expected because singer Giovanni De Luigi decided to leave the band. Luckily, after long researches, Empty Tremor has finally found the right replacement in the German singer Oliver Hartmann, former member of Power Metal heroes AT VANCE . The working title of the new album is “The Alien Inside” and the final tracklisting will include the following eight songs: The Alien Inside, I Found You, A New World, Who Really You Are, Don't Stop Me, Stay, The Love I've Never Had, The Alien Outside The band has also finally relaunched and revamped their website, which can now be found at www.emptytremor.com. The album will be hopefully completed during September and Frontiers Records plans to release “The Alien Inside” in early 2004.
Will Ozzfest Lead Chimaira To Stardom?
Valley Advocate takes a close look at Chimaira and their road to stardom, which may or may not be greatly aided by Ozzfest.
Chimaira can also take pride in being one of the few bands to earn the praise and support of Slayer's Kerry King. Hunter says it's an amazing feeling for the band to have one of their idols speak highly of them -- and that King has been an ally to the band, taking them out on tour and treating them like family.
Label and Slayer support alone can not make a band. They can certainly help, but ultimately a band needs to connect with the listeners, whether they do it through annoyingly catchy melodies, some kind of emotional resonance or, better yet, musical ingenuity. If Chimaira really have "it," Ozzfest could be the tour to launch them into the true commercial sphere.

XM Satellite Radio Insurance Claim Denied
XM revealed that its insurers rejected its $400 million claim on the two orbiting satellites its service depends on. The satellites, launched in 2001, were supposed to work for about 17 years, but defects related to their solar panels mean they will only be useful until 2008. Moreover, the malfunctions are forcing the company to take on $320 million in expenses early because XM must now launch its spare satellite next year and pay for a fourth, spare satellite in 2005.
The company says it has enough money to launch the third satellite, but not enough to pay for a new spare unless the insurance settlement comes through or it can find alternative financing.
