Trail of Tears to Begin Recording in November

Another studio news: Norway's Trail of Tears will enter the studio in November to begin recording their fourth album, tentatively due in early 2004 through Napalm Records. Trail of Tears are also participating on the upcoming Dead Can Dance tribute album, amongst bands like Theatre of Tragedy, Ulver, Green Carnation and Danny Cavanagh (Anathema).

Susperia to Support Mortiis on UK Mini-tour

Susperia reports that the band will enter the studio immediately after their UK tour to begin recording their new album.

Entitled Unlimited, the release will be recorded from September 24th through October. The band have inked a deal with a new label and the details will be announced once the ink dries. In other Susperia news, the band will be special guests on Mortiis’ upcoming UK mini-tour, dubbed Fear And Loathing In The UK. The tour will visit five cities in England and Scotland between September 17th and 21st. On the jaunt Susperia will be performing new songs live for the first time before they are recorded.

Amorphis to Play Some Finnish Dates

Amorphis’s official website reports that the band have lined up a string of dates in Finland in September.

Imperia Sign to CBI

Cold Blood Industries have inked a deal with Imperia, the band that features former Trail of Tears vocalist Helena Iren Michaelsen and God Dethroned drummer Arien. The complete band lineup will be announced soon.

In other CBI news, the label will from now on release material from all their atmospheric acts through their new sublabel, Ebony Tears. The first release through Ebony Tears will be Greyswan’s debut, Thought Tormented Minds.

Satyricon to Host Moonfog's 10 year Bash

Norwegians Satyricon will host Moonfog Productions' 10-year anniversary at Oslo Rockefeller on October 2, 2003, and will also be joined by Darkthrone's Nocturno Culto to perform a special live show of Darkthrone classics.
New Moonfog signing Disiplin will also join the bill, while Fenriz will be DJ-ing, spinning "harshest black metal sounds" in-between sets. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, check www.moonfog.no.

NonExist Announce Liiva's Departure

Sweden's NonExist, featuring Andromeda guitarist Johan Reinholdz, have officially announced the departure of vocalist Johan Liiva (Hearse, ex-Arch Enemy) as they near completion of their as-yet-untitled second full-length for New Hawen Records.

"Liiva said that his full-time job and involvment with Hearse made it difficult to find energy for Nonexist as well," explains guitarist/mainman Johan Reinholdz to DigitalMetal. "I understand his situation and reasons and there are no hard feelings between us. It feels sad and it has been great working with him."

Currently, Reinholdz is the only remaining member of NonExist. Drummer Matte Modin (Dark Funeral, Defleshed) has also officially exited due to priorities in his other bands, leaving the talented guitarist in search of two spots.

Hovever, that hasn't stopped NonExist from writing material, which, according to Reinholdz, are "slower, heavier and a bit more melodic." More...

Dave Williams Commemorative E-card

To commemorate the anniversary of the death of Dave Williams and celebrate Dave's life, Wind Up Records put together a little e-card as a tribute to Dave, which we'll be streaming here. Dave Williams, frontman for Drowning Pool, died from heart disease (cardiomyopathy) on this day last year, a day before the Bristow, VA Ozzfest show.
