Will Ozzfest Lead Chimaira To Stardom?

Valley Advocate takes a close look at Chimaira and their road to stardom, which may or may not be greatly aided by Ozzfest.

Chimaira can also take pride in being one of the few bands to earn the praise and support of Slayer's Kerry King. Hunter says it's an amazing feeling for the band to have one of their idols speak highly of them -- and that King has been an ally to the band, taking them out on tour and treating them like family.

Label and Slayer support alone can not make a band. They can certainly help, but ultimately a band needs to connect with the listeners, whether they do it through annoyingly catchy melodies, some kind of emotional resonance or, better yet, musical ingenuity. If Chimaira really have "it," Ozzfest could be the tour to launch them into the true commercial sphere.
