Jon Oliva Working On Solo Material

JON OLIVA, founder member and mastermind of SAVATAGE, has embarked on a new adventure. Jon has been writing material for a solo album for several years and has now begun the process of bringing that music to life. Jon has recruited the former members of CircleIICircle to peform a series of concerts showcasing his new solo material as well as classic Savatage material. Some of that Sava-material has never been performed live on stage, so this will be a real treat for Sava-fans everywhere. Jon's voice is in excellent shape and he is handling all the lead vocal duties at these shows. The response from the fans at these first shows has been nothing short of incredible. Some will remember Jon debuting some of his new material at the Criss Oliva Memorial Concert back in October. Jon is also toying with the idea of taking this show on the road in the US and possibly overseas. It is likely that the band (Matt Laporte-guitar, Kevin Rothney-bass, Christopher Kinder-drums, and John Zahner-Keyboards) will return to the studio with Jon to record more tracks for this solo project. There is no information available on a possible release date.

InDread Cold Signs To Black Doom Records

Polish band InDread Cold signed a contract for two albums with British BlackDoom Records ( www.blackdoom.com ). The label is founded by My Dying Bride’s members. They explain in their own words:

BlackDoom Records chose InDread Cold to be their 2nd signing on the depth of song structure and the feeling of truthfulness in the darkness that they were painting. We want bands that stand out as innovative and felt that InDread Cold are (as hard to describe as they are) stand among those clearly talented in the black arts that is needed to gain recognition by our label. Our philosophy is based on a belief unending in the quest for a darker world constructed through music, conjured in the deepest and most twisted minds metal has, InDread Cold sickness gives new life to this bastard idea.
