Susperia, the Oslo based extreme metal band featuring vocalist Athera, bass guitarist Memnock, drummer Tjodalv (Dimmu Borgir) along with guitarists Elvorn and Cyrus are currently in the final stages of recording their forthcoming album "Unlimited" - the band's first for their new label Tabu Recordings (A Div of Tuba Records, Norway).

Most of the album is being recorded at Subsonic Society Studios in Oslo while the drums were tracked at Studio Fredman (At The Gates, Soilwork) in Gothenburg Sweden, where the final mix and mastering will also take place.

Commenting on the songs, vocalist Athera said "The songwriting has taken an enormous turn, not only innovative but harder, heavier, faster, and even more powerful. This new material has to be heard to be believed." Susperia have also chosen an interesting song to cover, which will be featured on a special edition of the "Unlimited" album. Whilst exact details are being kept under wraps at the moment, they have revealed that an internationally renowned Norwegian band originally recorded it. Though it will come as a surprise to many it will definitely be done the Susperia way.

1349 To Enter the Studio This Month

1349 will enter the studio this month to record their new album, Beyond The Apocalypse.

1349 rose from the ashes of Alvheim in 1997, with Ravn (vocals, drums), Tjalve (guitars) Seidemann (bass) and Balfori (guitars). They recorded, but never released a demo in early '98. Balfori quit shortly after due to musical differences. In '99 they recorded the never released promo Chaos Prefferred.

1349 needed another guitarist, and found Archaon whose speed and technique took their music to a new level of intensity and brutality. Come spring 2000, 1349 wanted to record a new promo showcasing their new material, and Ravn asked Frost to do the drumsto get the speed required. Frost was later so impressed by the material written for the next release, that he wanted to become a permanent member of 1349.

Holycaust Records offered them a deal and released the new promo as an eponymous mini-CD. Early 2001 they felt they had enough killer songs for a full-lenght album, Liberation. Recorded and mixed in Gordon Studios, and mastered at Strype Audio, Liberation mixed seamlessly Old School with modern warp-speed hysteria. More...

Zyklon Mexican Tour Cancelled

Norway's Zyklon, the band featuring Zamoth (a.k.a. Samoth) and Trym of Emperor, have cancelled their previously announced Mexican tour.

The following is Samoth's official statement on the matter:

"We were supposed to leave for Mexico today for a 3-show headline tour. The UK agent who dealt with this particular tour called us up at rehearsal on Monday saying it's not gonna happen, because the Mexican promoter Carlo Hernandez have failed to buy the plane tickets in time, and now refuses to buy any because they apparently are too expensive all of a sudden. I must say we are very disappointed and surprised in the lack of professionalism. It's not only unfortunate for us as we have turned down other interesting offers to do this tour, but most of all for all the die-hard Mexican fans who wanted to see us. All we can say is that this situation is totally beyond our control. We don't really wanna put any blame on anybody, but it just sucks that we have to deal with such incompetence. We hope we get another opportunity to come back to Mexico. A mighty hail to all the Mexican Metal brothers for supporting us!"

Incantation Cancel Chilean Tour

Incantation have been forced to cancel their previously announced Chilean tour dates due to the alleged incompetence of their Chilean tour promoter.

The following is the band's official statement on the matter:

"Incantation and Tumba Records would like to apologize to the Chilean metal fans because Incantation are unable to play on their 'Rotting With Your Christ' South American tour due to the Chilean promoter (Art Productions) has been missing for some time now and has not been in touch with the band or Tumba Records (Incantation's South American booking agent). Incantation and Tumba Records gave Art Production every chance possible to make the shows happen all the way up to the day before the shows. All Incantation and Tumba Records got were false promises. It is unfortunate for Incantation, the fans, the Chilean bands playing the shows, and all other people involved. Incantation is looking forward to working with someone else in the future in Chile to spread their blasphemous death metal. Incantation wants to send out a death metal hail to all of our true Chilean metal brothers for their understanding in this unfortunate dilemma and for sure they will return! More...
