Blind Guardian Explain Houston Cancellation
Blind Guardian's tour manager has issued a statement in an attempt to clarify the reasons behind the cancellation of the group's scheduled Houston show on Nov. 29 as part of their ongoing U.S. tour with Symphony X. It reads as follows:
"This is Roger Smith, the road manager for the Blind Guardian tour. The real reason for the show not happening is that Bobby, the Houston promoter, did not do his job. I tried to call, e-mail and even call his house. What really sucks is that I live in that city, and I wanted the show to happen..." More...
H.I.M. Plot 'Love Metal' Attack
Finland's H.I.M. have posted the following update on their official web site:
"In a band meeting a couple of hours ago we made a grand plan for the next year. We'll be concentrating on Europe for much of the year. The new album [tentatively titled 'Love Metal'] will be out in April, followed by major European festivals in the summer. A full-fledged European tour is planned for the autumn, and this time in more intimate surroundings. Large clubs or smaller venues, two or even three nights in a row in major cities.
"We're planning to shoot two new videos in December / January for the forthcoming album.
"The first one will be shot December 15-18 in Los Angeles with Bam Margera [of 'Jackass' fame] directing. It will be mostly a performance video shot in an old theatre or church, but there will also be a storyline along with the performance. Juliette Lewis is set to be the female person in the story.
"The second video will be done in the beginning of January in Finnish Lapland. Stefan Lindfors is directing and there will be lots of surprises, wild horses and savage Lappish wolves in the fairy-tale story. More...

"This song has one steady rhythm," explained Aeternus on their official web site. "Before we went [into the] studio, [Aeternus drummer] Erik felt this could be for Remi and us to have him make drums on it. The result was awesome. Pounding drums, powerful as a battle hymn. We had to fucking re-arrange the microphones on Erik's drums as he hit too hard the first time he did the song."

Mincery Land Connell on Skins
Death metal merchants Mincery have finally filled the drum stool of ex-Dying Fetus drummer Kevin Talley with Eternal Suffering's Chad Connell.
"We were forced to get a different drummer to do session drums as we just weren’t in the position to shell out the kind of loot that Kevin Talley (Misery Index) was looking for to do this project," revealed Mincery. "Probably a good thing because we just received an email a couple months back stating that Kevin had quit extreme music forever."
Deicide Gets Support
Floridian veteran death metallers Deicide have revealed to England's Terrorizer Magazine that their new deal with Earache Records gives the band something their previous label, Roadrunner Records, didn't: support.
"We signed the contract on Halloween day. We picked a good day for it," explained frontman and bassist Glen Benton. "We signed for one record and we'll see how it goes. If everyone's happy, we'll sign for another. We need a label to provide us with promotion, a label that's glad to have us. It seems they wanna get all the extreme bands. They wanna support this shit and keep it goin'."
"We'd been talkin' to 'em for a while, man," Benton said to Terrorizer about how the deal was sealed. "We laid low for a little while and I talked to a lot of record companies, but Earache were the only ones to offer the deal that we wanted. We've been doin' this for years and we need a deal that's not all in the label's favor." More...
