Windir to Enter Studio
Windir are planning to enter the studio and begin recording their new album, Likferd. The recording will be done at Akkerhaugen Studio, and will last for 3 weeks. Windir were very satisfied with their last CD 1184, and are looking forward to working with Toerbjorn Akkerhaugen again. Likferd will consist of 8 songs, and release date has been set to 31.03.2003. Windir is currently working on tour and live activity for 2003.
Total Devastation Signed by Firebox
Total Devastation has inked a deal with Firebox Records. The band's earlier demo's have awakened interest all over the world and the last Left Hand of The Devil -demo achieved "Demo of The Month" status in magazines like Metal Hammer and SUE. The band will enter the studio in February 2003 and their debut album will be released in May 2003. More information to follow.
Every Time I Die to enter Studio
Every Time I Die has booked time at Trax East studios in South River, New Jersey to record their second full-length for Ferret Music. ETID will be recording throughout the month of February, and the as-of-yet untitled album should hit stores in June. The band kicks off their tour with Remembering Never and Misery Signals this weekend, and in January, they will be hitting the road with Most Precious Blood, The Promise and No Warning.
Terror, The Promise, ADFES Tour Dates

God Dethroned Complete New Disc
God Dethroned have finished recording for their upcoming album, Into The Lungs Of Hell, at Sweden’s Berno studios. The album, due for release on February 10th, was produced and mixed by Henrik Larsson, and features eight songs with a total running time of 38 minutes. The CD booklet will contain the songs’ lyrics.
Frontman Henri Sattler comments: “Sometimes it was just necessary, because for example the song ‘Slaughtering The Faithful’ is dealing with the bio-industry and the way we treat animals. It was pretty shocking to read my own lyrics again just after I wrote it. We decided to explain some things here and there to avoid misunderstandings because people would think we were singing about concentration camps and shit like that.” More...
Dani Filth Explains Cancellations
Cradle of Filth’s website, has posted a message from singer Dani Filth apologizing for their canceled UK dates.
Says Dani: “My Nightmare Before Christmas By Dani Filth, (physically) aged one hundred and thirteen and three quarters.
Sincere and enormous apologies must go out to all of you who are extremely disappointed at our recent cancellations of three Xmas shows at Wolverhampton, Norwich and the London Astoria.
Please let me assure you that these shows were canceled under extreme duress and will definitely be rescheduled for next April, when tickets already purchased will be totally redeemable in exchange for the new dates. More...

Dan Swano to Mix new Katatonia Album
Sweden's Katatonia have enlisted Nightingale mainman Dan Swanö to mix their sixth full-length album, due in early 2003 through Peaceville Records.
The CD, which was recorded at a "very exquisite studio, located just outside Stockholm", will be mixed at a facility in Örebro, Sweden. A total of 15 songs were reportedly tracked during the sessions, including some of the "hardest" material the group have ever written, according to guitarist Anders Nyström.
Classic RR Albums to Be Rereleased
Disincarnate's acclaimed full-length debut, Dreams Of The Carrion Kind, and Cynic's ground-breaking first (and only) effort, Focus, are two of the previously-deleted classic albums that are being reissued by Roadrunner Records Japan on Dec. 18.

Death Angel: Chilean Date Cancelled
Death Angel's planned concert in Santiago, Chile on Saturday, Dec. 14 has been cancelled by the promoter. No reason was given for the cancellation, and there are no plans to reschedule the show at this time.
The reunited Bay Area band, who recently announced plans to record a new CD in early 2003, will play a New Year's eve gig at The Pound in San Francisco. For more information, visit the group's official web site at this location.
SYL's Simon Turns Down Dark Angel Spot
Strapping Young Lad's Jed Simon has turned down an offer to fill the vacant guitarist slot in Dark Angel following the departure of founding member Jim Durkin.
Although he had originally agreed to join the Los Angeles thrashers in their reunion bid, Simon has apparently had a change of heart — the reasons for which he says were multi-fold.

To/Die/For Begin Mixing Jaded
Finland's To/Die/For commenced the mixing sessions today for their upcoming release, Jaded, at CrystalSound studio under the watchful eye of T.T. Oksala.
Jaded is due on Mar. 3, 2003 through Spinefarm Records. A single will precede the album on Feb. 3.
The Crown Move Italian Dates Up
Swedish thrashers The Crown, recently rejoined by original vocalist Johan Lindstrand, have moved up their planned Italian concerts to late February. The group have also added a Slovenian show to their upcoming itinerary.
