First Wacken Bands Announced
The Wacken Open Air Festival 2002 is already being planned out.. The German festival will happen from August 1-3, and far the bands confirmed so far are Blind Guardian, Kreator, Destruction, J.B.O, In Extremo, Falconer and Amon Amarth.
Unleashed Making Comeback
Swedish death metal legends Unleashed have re-signed with Century Media Records and are currently recording their long-awaited comeback album at a Stockholm studio for an early 2002 release.
Down Change Title/ Join Ozzfest
DOWN will NOT title their forthcoming sophomore effort The Backwood Heavies, contrary to a report posted at the official site of SOUTHERN ISOLATION, which features in its ranks PANTERA vocalist Philip Anselmo and his girlfriend Stephanie Opal.

The Gathering Are Anti-MP3
Dutch rockers The Gathering have expressed concern over the fact that many people are recording the band's new material at recent gigs in their home country. Apparently, a few new tracks have surfaced on trader lists and on the Internet as MP3's. The band is obviously upset about the matter and feel that bootlegging new material could further hamper their already hostile relationship with Century Media.

Warhammer Will Sign For Three
German doom/death outfit Warhammer have signed a three-album deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The band will record their third album, Beyond The Path Of Redemption... Apocalypse Unleashed, in December at Stereo Planet in Dortmund, Germany.

Rammstein's Reasoning
The reason for Rammstein's departure from the Pledge Of Allegiance Tour, which features Slipknot, System Of A Down, American Head Charge and No One, is apparently due to serious illness in the family of band guitarist Paul Landers.
Late Night With Sevendust
Sevendust are confirmed to perform their new single "Praise" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on November 07th. The track comes from the groups forthcoming new effort "Animosity", which is due in stores on November 13th through TVT.
