Deicide have declared 6.6.06 the release date for their upcoming album on Earache records. The album, titled "The Stench of Redemption", is tentatively set for release on the date that coincides with the mark of the beast.
The album is currently in the preliminary stages as the band are gearing up to enter the studios with Jim Morris of Morris Sound. The band have demoed 10 songs which Glen Benton is locked away preparing his signature twisted lyrics to coincide with the brutally heavy tracks. This album marks the bands first recorded album with an all-new line-up who has been igniting audiences so far. The two-guitar attack of Deicide now comprises of Jack Owen of Cannibal Corpse fame and Ralph Santolla of Iced Earth and Death fame. The band are very excited to release this album, as Glen Benton has reported that this is one of the best death metal albums in years.
Initially, Benton reported that the album had Earache head Digby Pearson banging his head and jumping up and down like a young metalhead.
The band are currently preparing for a South American stint that will send the band through 6 countries at a light-speed rate. Deicide is excited to reach their South American fans that have always gone crazy for the bands performances in the past. Glenn, the promoter for ProgPower USA has confirmed that Nevermore will NOT be at this year's festival, due to the Disturbed/Nevermore European being postponed until September. That conflicts with the festival date and Nevermore have officially withdrawn from the festival in order to continue with that potentially lucrative tour as of this morning.
"Obviously, I am beyond disappointed. I will now begin the search for a replacement. Please be patient as I have no idea how long the process will take," Glenn continued.
Death by Stereo have confirmed that they will be headlining at Murderfest in Los Angeles. Death by Stereo will be headlining day one of the three day festival taking place February 17-19 in Hollywood. Death by Stereo will share the stage with Turmoil, Cursed, the Warriors and others.
Nevermore, along with Mercenary, and Savage Circus have been confirmed for next year's ProgPower which will take place September 15-16 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nevermore will be headlining Saturday night. Mercenary and Savage Circus will be performing the first night of ProgPower.
Venom's new album, "Metal Black", will feature the all original line-up of Cronos, Antton, and Mykvs. "Metal Black" is scheduled to be released in April.
British extreme metallers BENEDICTION have set "Killing Music" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in June/July. "Why break something if it is not broken?" the group wrote in a statement sent to Blabbermouth.net. "We have been a team for nearly 17 years and see no reason to end that relationship!”
"Killing Music" will mark the recording debut with the group of new drummer Nick Barker (CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR). "This will be our first new release since 2001," the band write. "It took so long because we just didn't jell with any other drummers — Nick is the man."
City of Angels, get ready to bleed! Hollywood’s Knitting Factory will host the Los Angeles Murderfest, taking place this weekend, Feb. 17 – 19. Featuring five Century Media artists, a selection of metal’s finest will be performing throughout the weekend including performances from Cephalic Carnage, Disfear, Disgorge, Macabre, Phobia and Turmoil amongst others.
