Swedish metal band SONIC SYNDICATE recently announced the replacement of now former drummer Kristoffer BŠcklund, announces guitarist and songwriter Roger Sjunnesson, "It's my sad news to report that SONIC SYNDICATE will be parting ways with our drummer and brother Kristoffer BŠcklund. This decision was very hard to make, ultimately came about due to lack of enthusiasm and motivation on his side. We came to the conclusion that if we were to continue Sonic Syndicate as a professional band, we had to let him go. The band and Kristoffer are still the best of friends, and the former drummer will always be a huge part of SONIC SYNDICATE's spirit. Kristoffer would like to thank all the fans for a "motherfuckin' great time" and he wishes the band the best of luck in the future. The new drummer is no one less than John "Runken" Bengtsson (D¯DZ). He is an old schoolmate of ours and one of the best musicians we have worked with, and his playing so far has been beyond our expectations. We all want to give him a warm welcome and hope he will enjoy playing in Sonic Syndicate."
SONIC SYNDICATE has also confirmed an additional off-date gigs from the Sweden United Tour with AVATAR and INEVITABLE END.

SONIC SYNDICATE's debut album, "EDEN FIRE" was recorded at StudioMega (THE CROWN, BESEECH) with producers Christian Silver and Manne Engstršm and released on September 13, 2005 through Florida based record label Pivotal Rockordings. You can view the E-CARD for "Eden Fire" here.
With Honor have offically departed ways with vocalist Todd Mackey. They have released the following statement:
"Despite the recent departure of our singer, we will still be appearing on all upcoming tours and shows, including the East Coast run with Strike Anywhere and a European tour this summer with Ignite. We are stoked to announce that our longtime friend Kevin White "Whitey"(former Sick of it All tech/current Scream Out vocalist) has agreed to take on vocal duties for all upcoming shows. Kevin has been sounding rad and we cant wait to debut new and old material that we haven’t played to date, as well as some new shoes. Thanks to Todd for his time and effort into the band for the past 3 and a half years, we wish him luck. Future plans for the band will be determined at a later time."
On April, 4th "Sterling Black Icon", the third full length release from Fragments of Unbecoming, will hit the streets.
Comments guitarist Sascha Ehrich: "Sterling Black Icon, the 3rd chapter in the history of Fragments of Unbecoming, takes us miles of steps closer to the sophistication of the characteristic song writing we've ever been standing for and nevertheless believe in: 'Swedish Styled Death Metal' (from Tyskland by the way). With a new 5th face (Sam Anetzberger) on the front, we finally could play with a more variable double vocal performance that highly enriches every single song. We are proud announcing that the entire material got catchier and much more melodic but not less aggressive! One hook line peruses the next, one twin melody drifts into another - beauties and beasts never were that close to each other!"
The production of Sterling Black Icon went out great due to the excellent mix and mastering work of Christoph Brandes at the Iguana Studios (e.g. Necrophagist, etc.). The artwork and packaing was done in cooperation with Niklas Sundin and Groundfrost.
Here is the track list for Sterling Black Icon:
1. Carmine Preface (Entrance)
2. Sterling Black Icon
3. Weave Their Barren Path
4. Dear Floating Water
5. Breathe In The Black To See
6. Ride For a Fall
7. A Faint Illumination
8. Live For The Moment, Stay ´Til The End
9. Scythe Of Scarecrow
10. Onward To The Finger Of God
11. Stand The Tempest
12. Chambre Noire (Departure)

Cannibal Corpse have released the following statement regarding their recent cancellation of their appearance at Wacken Open Air 2006
"We regret to announce that we have to cancel our appearance at the Wacken Open Air in 2006. The cancellation is due to a scheduling conflict with a large tour in the USA that we will be appearing on. We have now been told that the USA tour (more details on this tour will be released on February 15th) will run from July 7th to August 13th, where originally we had been told that it would likely run from June until July. We would not have scheduled a Wacken performance if we had been aware of this conflict."
"We were really looking forward to playing Wacken, so we are quite disappointed that this has to happen, but we did not want to cancel a month long tour to perform a single concert. We are very sorry to all of our fans who were planning to see us at Wacken, and also to the festival organizers, who are in no way responsible for our cancellation. We hope to perform at Wacken again in the years to come, but unfortunately this year it is not possible."

Crucial Blast is working with Denver's ACROSS TUNDRAS on their first full length, the follow up to last years Divides EP on Feeling Faint. Featuring former members of Sioux Falls, SD post-hardcore outfits Spirit Of Versailles and Examination Of The..., ACROSS TUNDRAS "creates imposing, majestic rock from massive syrupy heaviness, spacious melodies, and rustic hooks that makes us think of Neil Young and Neurosis, spacey psychedelia and massive doomy crush, super emotional and super loud, like a mysterious 70's country rock outfit thawed out and refitted with mighty amplification, sludgecore tempos, and shoegazey shimmer that effortlessly conjures images of the wide open prairies and looming mountains of the band's territory." The band will begin recording the as-yet-unnamed album at the end of February. Expect to see it a little later this year, to be supported with lots of touring from ACROSS TUNDRAS. In the meantime, you can check out the band's MySpace page for some music. You can still pick up their debut EP Divides online as well.
In other news, Crucial Blast has signed the UK's GEISHA and is preparing for a May Stateside release of "Mondo Dell'Orrore." Crucial Blast comments: "We've had our hands on the master for a little while now, so we can say with full certainty that this album FUCKING SMOKES, devouring and rebirthing the concept of "noise pop" into something frighteningly beautiful and brutally heavy. GEISHA deliver crushing blasts of impossibly catchy hyperdistorted rock baked in massive frequency overload, huge pop hooks and beautiful melodies and sinister crushing riffs slathered in filthy throbbing feedback and white noise holocaust, like Isn't Anything-era MY BLOODY VALENTINE and UNSANE and DINOSAUR JR. gone sludgy and metallic, jamming with a small army of pedal-smashing harsh noise artists, playing awesomely catchy and heavy pop songs buried beneath a thick fog of skree and fuzz." The album will be released through Crucial Blast for North America in May 2006, and the UK/European release will be through Super Fi/Blood Red Sounds. You can check out the band's MySpace page for some songs from Mondo as well as their older EPs.
Crucial Blast hasissued an update on Genghis Tron's latest effort:
"Genghis Tron just wrapped up production and mastering for their first full length album "Dead Mountain Mouth," which will be released on 6/6/06 through Crucial Blast. The follow up to last year's debut EP Cloak Of Love, the new album is a whole new level of insanity from Genghis Tron, more developed and textured than the EP but also WAY HEAVIER and MEGA CATCHY. All of the comparisons that people were lobbing at their debut EP are going to be chucked out the door when this hits ears...it's an entirely new mutation. We're so freaking stoked on this album that we're going to get an MP3 available here as soon as we can, to give you a glimpse of the electro-blast majesty this album is going to deliver to your neurons. Dead Mountain Mouth was produced by Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios, so you know this thing is gonna sound lethal. And if you're lurking around the Southeast, keep an eye out for Genghis Tron slaying your town in March when the band quests down to SXSW in March with Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower and Akimbo."
