100 Demons have been forced to pull off their tour with Since The Flood. The official reason for their cancellation is "a sudden family emergency," though no further information has been disclosed. The tour had been slated to run from this week through March 7th.
San Francisco, CA death metal/hardcore band Animosity have officially signed with Black Market Activities. The group has previously released an album with Tribunal Records and will enter Castle Ultimate Studios on March 9th to record a new full-length, entitled "Empires." Engineering the album will be Zach Ohren (Gunmetal Grey), while Paul Romano (Nasum) will handle the artwork. Regarding the new album, the group states: "We have matured as musicians and people over our years as a band. We are beginning to find our true musical voice. Empires is an entirely more advanced album in all respects and is more progressive." You can check out some of their older material here. XM Satellite services have pulled Liquid Metal (42) off the air. It will remain on XM's online service. According to fans of the service, they yanked the station "in the dead of night, with no announcement until after the fact." XMLM was a key way for obscure (and not so obscure) metal bands to get heard nationally. Compared to the satellite option, sources say that XM's online service is significantly inferior in the following ways: you have to be "chained" to a computer to listen to it; the audio quality of the online service is far inferior to the regular satellite service - it's only 64kbps (far from the "CD-like quality" of the satellite service); there will be no live DJs on the online service - just preprogrammed music; the online service costs $3.99 per month on top of the regular $9.99 per month fee for the regular satellite service - you pay MORE for a less useful, lower quality service.
Fans are to send their complaints via email - firstname.lastname@example.org, phone - 866.466.9656 or snail mail - XM Radio, 1500 Eckington Place, NE, Washington, DC 20002.
MUDVAYNE have postponed tonight's show at Jaxx in Springfield, VA until April 15 (which, according to the Jaxx calendar, is the day AGNOSTIC FRONT is scheduled to play) due to vocalist Chad falling ill. MUDVAYNE is planning this show to be an "evening with" type of show, so another date may still be determined. It is not known what exactly Chad had, but according to his band mates, "he couldn't even talk, let alone sing." Tomorrow night's show at CBGBs in New York City is also in jeopardy. It is recommended anyone wishing to attend the show should call the venue ahead of time to confirm the show.
As to the question of whether or not MUDVAYNE will be on Ozzfest, the band simply said they're "not sure."

Moonspell have issued the following statement reguarding their street team they have just set up:
"To whom it may concern...
Well we are kicking off our very first street team after observing the really important work that a great number of other alike teams have been doing for other bands around the world. The concept and ambition of a street team is to create a work of passion, that is, to support the band with simple yet concrete actions to help the band to spread out their name everywhere and to grow stronger in the eyes of fans.
There is not a corporate feeling behind this. Just a reciprocal chemistry between band and fans who will reward each other by letting each other participate more personally in Moonspell, the reason for this all. A street team is brought up by fans whose "work" is simply to talk about the band they are into, to spread information about concerts, tours, activities, merchandise, meetings, throughout all their contacts, friends and people who they feel would like to know more about the band. In trade they come closer into an active role, besides just listening and moving in the shadows of music. One can pass forth the under the moonspell feeling unto another and while he/she broadens the horizons for the band is also extending his/hers horizons in what it comes to friends, likings and experience in music.
A street team is not a fan club where you pay to have benefits. No! The lunar street team is a work of passion where you do on a more constant and organized basis what you do everyday: to talk about things you love and to share with those your reasons and perspectives for that passion.
Find us with the howling."

Boston's legendary doom kings GRIEF will reunite for an appearance at the first annual NEW ENGLAND GRIND AND DOOM FEST on July 17 at Emerald Hall in Braintree, Massachusetts. No further information is available at this time.
Forming out of the band DISRUPT in the early nineties, GRIEF's objective from the outset was to make the slowest, most mournful doom metal out there, according to RoadBurn.com. The band definitely managed to do so on albums such as 1994's "Come to Grief" and 1998's "Torso", which are now classics in the genre.
The following message was posted on the official Bloodbath website:

In related news, Peter Tägtgren has left the band due to conflicting schedules. We thank him for sharing his acclaimed talent and efforts on "Nightmares Made Flesh." Bloodbath live at Wacken, Blackstage, Friday August 4th:

Within Temptation won an Edison Dutch music award for best band. Rammstein were the winners for the foreign alternative award.
Edison awards have been presented since 1960, making it the oldest music prize in the Netherlands. They are comparable to the US Grammy, the German Echo or the British Brit awards.
Public broadcaster TROS will televise the Dutch awards ceremony on 2 March.
Slipknot's concert in Stockholm, Sweden, recorded on October 14, 2004, will be broadcasted on Sveriges Radio's "P3 Live" radio show on Thursday, February 17 beginning at 9:00 p.m. CET, reports Blabbermouth.net.
To listen to the streamed concert, go to the "P3 Live" web site and click "Webbradio" and choose P3.
Slipknot is scheduled to be the featured musical guests on the Tuesday, March 1 edition of NBC-TV's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien". It's not known what song the band will perform, although the group has chosen "Before I Forget" as the next single from "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)". The track will make its way to radio stations in early March.
Here's from Opeth's official site:
"Opeth will be entering Fashination street studios on March 15 to record their 8th yet untitled opus. The band are currently in rehearsal mode, which is a rare occasion having recorded the last four records without rehearsing. The recording will be overseen by the uprising recording mogul Jens Bogren. As of today no names for production duties have surfaced and it looks like the next record will be a band produced effort. Nothing has been decided regarding who's taking care of the mix either so we'll have to keep you wondering.
Opeth and their management have spent the last month meeting the 5 top label candidates for the next Opeth recording contract. The names are still secret but a decision will be made very soon and obviously announced here earlier than anywhere else.
Several Summer festival appearances have been confirmed and will be posted here soon. A Summer tour of the US has also been confirmed and will be posted here soon as well. The matters are still very "hush, hush" so we can't say anything more at this point. What can be said is that the band will make a few low-profile apperances prior to the next release and several full blown headline tours all over the world after the release. Take your rest now!"
