THE DEFACED, the Swedish band featuring DARKANE/TERROR 2000 guitarist Klas Ideberg, have posted the following message on their official web site:
"We're almost done recording the vocals for the next THE DEFACED album. Jens [Broman; CONSTRUCDEAD, HATELIGHT] has been tracking vocals now for three weekends and he's really been working his ass off. He’s been pushing limits and Jesus Christmas, it sounds awesome! He brings so many new textures to the songs and his voice absolutely fits the songs like a prostitute in a brothel.
"The final vocal parts will be tracked this weekend. After that we'll schedule the mixing of the album as soon as possible, though it may take a little while longer than we expected. This is due to the fact that Klas will handle the mixing duties (like he recently did on DARKANE's and TERROR 2000's latest efforts) and since he's just become a first-time father, we'll schedule the mixing to fit his agenda. The main thing is that the result is going to be top notch. We don't want to rush anything (even though it's about fucking time we get this album out), we simply want to give you one hell of an album."
THE DEFACED's most recent album, "Karma In Black", was issued in 2003 via Italy's Scarlet Records.
KITTIE have issued the following update via their website:
“Kittie's brand new digital EP, Never Again, which is released tomorrow, February 7th, is now available for full streaming through AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party, and will continue to be up during the week of the release!

A brand-new PRONG demo track, entitled "Third Option", has been posted online at the group's MySpace.com page. Check it out at www.myspace.com/prong.
PRONG bassist Mike Longworth recently told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the group have abandoned the search for a second guitarist and have chosen to stick with the "traditional" three-piece format. "We've done several shows at the end of 2005 [as a trio] and it's sounding tighter than ever!!!!" Longworth said.
PRONG are currently seeking a new label home while continuing to write material for the follow-up to 2004's "Scorpio Rising" (Locomotive Music), tentatively due before the end of the year.
PRONG's current lineup is as follows:
Tommy Victor - Guitar, Vocals
Mike Longworth - Bass

Century Media Records report that BRAND NEW SIN are in full songwriting mode for the follow-up to their Recipe For Disaster album.
Joe Altier (vocals) checks in with the following report: “I want to thank everyone for 2005. We got to tour with Motorhead, COC, LOA, BLS, and make good friends with all the guys in Mercy Clinic, Bloodsimple, Scum Of The Earth, Society 1, Dog Faced Gods. I want to thank my band mates, crew and our families for once again being there for me (us) thru everything, all the extended sin family for housing us, getting us drunk, and plain just making us feel at home wherever we go. We will continue to make music, so hopefully you will keep coming out to see us.
“The main focus right now is writing the follow up to Recipe For Disaster. We will hopefully be recording this spring and the boys and me are hard at work once again 5 nights a week hammering out some new tunes. We will spend the next two months writing and demoing new material. We are very excited! I promise to keep everyone updated on the progress and news about this in the coming weeks. And as the hometown show goers know this record is being fueled by Tequila so you better watch out.”
In other news, Brand New Sin will headline at Gatherings in Phoenix, NY on February 10th. The band’s video for the track ‘Days Are Numbered’ can currently be seen at this location.

Into Eternity Drummer posted the following message on the band's message board:
"I'm very sad to announce to all of you that I am no longer a member of INTO ETERNITY. This is not what I wanted, but the simple truth is, for personal and professional reasons I cannot continue to play in Into Eternity at this point in my life. I have nothing bad to say about Tim, Rob, Stu and Troy. They are truly wonderful people and some of my best friends. We've been through some tremendous experiences, and I can't thank them enough for the amazing times we've had and the incredible opportunities that they've given me. It's been absolutely humbling playing with such ferocious, capable and professional musicians. Thank you gentleman. I wish you nothing but the best. I also want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of the incredible fans and friends I've met and gotten to know so well, along with the truly gracious promoters that always treated IE so well, particularly the Brazilian Pride (you know who you three are), Sean "The Captain" Cipriano at The Pound in San Francisco, Noel at Inertia, Stephan and all of BCI, Jay Nedry and co. at Jaxx, and the whole crew of BB King's in NYC. An extra special thank you goes to all of the wildly dedicated and insane Into Eternity fans up in Regina. You all truly know how to support your scene! And of course, horns up to all the guys in Amorphis, Beyond the Embrace, Graveworm, Hate Eternal, Krisiun, Opeth, Nevermore, Kataklysm, and all of the other incredible bands with whom we've shared a stage (or gazebo) in the last 18 months. THANK YOU!!"
Philadelphia’s very own, Dawn Of Correction, are quickly establishing a solid reputation as an in-your-face metal unit with old school metal roots, such as Black Sabbath, Slayer and Pantera. The band recently set the underground on fire with their new 5-track CD Swingin’ The Chain. Recently having signed a management deal with Praying Mantis Entertainment, headed by music industry veterans Steven Cermanski and Chris Natalini, D.O.C.’s Swingin’ The Chain has been receiving rave reviews and heavy airplay worldwide.
I wanted to provide you all with a closer look into the madness behind the microphone. I am excited to bring you this interview with lead singer Jeremy Tillotson, who was gracious enough to answer some of my questions inbetween his steady diet of JAGERMEISTER SHOTS, MASSIVE QUANITIES OF BEER and "420" DOUBLE BARREL BONG RIPS. THE HAUNTED bassist Jonas Björler has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"We have now been rehearsing and writing new material for about a month and everything is going really well. This week we made four new song ideas, and we now have a total of eight. Finally, we got ourselves a computer in the rehearsal room, and that makes the whole process so much easier. We can now easily mix, edit and move things around. It saves us a lot of time, and we can for once hear what we're doing.
"We are planning on entering Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen in May. Prior to this, Per [Möller Jensen] will record the drums in Puk Studios in Randers, Denmark, during the first week of May. The vocals will probably be recorded at Studio Fredman. The plan is to have everything mixed and mastered in June.
"We are looking at a possible late October 2006 release. More news to come soon..."
THE HAUNTED's fourth album, "rEVOLVEr", entered the Swedish album chart at position No. 18 upon its release in October 2004. The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" was recorded at Gothenburg's famed Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY) with co-producers Patrik J. Sten and Fredrik Nordström and mixed at Denmark's Antfarm Studio by Tue Madsen. The album was released as jewel-case CD and limited edition digipak (each with a different cover), featuring two special bonus tracks, "Fire Alive" and "Smut King".
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has posted the following message in his online diary:
"I really wanna thank everybody who has bought stuff from the auction [for Nikki's 'Running Wild in the Night' charity for runaway children]. We're over $60,000 now and on our way to our first $100,000. This is gonna go along way for the kids at Covenant House, but we have a long road ahead of us. My Harley just sold for $21,000 which really gave us a boost. That's amazing… Thank you, thank you, thank you.
"It's been nice to be home but as usual the days have melted away too quickly and it's about time to head out on the road again. I hate leaving the family behind, since i never really had one. They're the most important people in my life and to be away from them is hard, to say the least.
"Donna [Nikki's wife] just wrapped her movie in Santa Fe and I flew out to meet her and drive back together. It was amazing, the time together. We took some great photos along the way. Her website should be done in a few weeks and I'm sure she will post some.
"She just gets home, I just leave… This is our life, but I call it a quality problem. But I still miss the hell outta her……
"Enough from me….. Let me just thank the buyers from the auction again…. You fuckers rule…."
KINGDOM COME's webmaster Marko (brother of KINGDOM COME mainman Lenny Wolf) has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"The new album is now almost ready. It is entering the mastering stage.
"A funny coincidence occured when Lenny visited a friend in a record store in Hamburg. Lenny was introduced to Marc-Dieter Einstmann. Marc-Dieter is a former technician who has worked with musicians like Dave Stewart, Annie Lennox, Tricky or DEPECHE MODE. and who has spent a few years working at Sterling Sound Studio in New York, which is known to be a top adress for mastering records. They hit it off well, and Marc agreed to master the new CD. I can't wait to hear the outcome. The record company situation seems to come along okay as well."
KINGDOM COME's follow-up the 2004's "Perpetual" is tentatively scheduled for release later in the year. The band cancelled their U.S. tour in early 2005.
PITCHSHIFTER are returning to the scene after a two year hiatus. Every single ticket buying fan will get a free new PITCHSHIFTER 6 track CD put in their hands at the show.
