Sepultura Plan US Tour

Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura have announced their long-awaited return to American shores in November. The band kicks off their 28-city tour at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ on Thursday, November 11.

Their latest album, "Dante XXI", has been heralded by the press and the heavy metal community worldwide as a true return to form, along with being one of the very finest metal releases of the year. The album, based on "Divina Comedia", one of the master works of Italian poet and philosopher, Dante Alighieri, has turned heads both for it's razor-sharp sonic aesthetics and it's forward-thinking, literate approach to heavy metal.

As previously reported, Igor Cavalera left the band this past summer and the band debuted their new drummer Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA) at the Vilar de Mouros festival in Portugal.

Liar Call It Quits

After more than 10 years of perpetuating the name of Belgium's H8000 scene, Liar has called quits. They played a memorable set at Ieper fest and a final show earlier in October.

Members of Liar and Congress from Belgium have teamed up to form a new project called Your God Is Dead. Two tracks can be checked out at the band's MySpace.

Kiss Members Promote Their Own Stuff On Radio

Paul Stanley of KISS was on the phone with the Bob Rivers Show on KZOK 102.5 FM in Seattle on Friday (October 27) to promote his new solo album 'Live To Win'. Stanley talked about not wanting to recreate his first solo album or a KISS album, the all-star collaborations, the different ways to distribute music, how he was every parents' worst dream come true, all the band's merchandise, and more. Cyclop Media Signs Two Bands

Cyclop Media has signed two new bands, The Expectorated Sequence and Final Baton. The Expectorated Sequence are a noise band hailing from Montreal. You can check them out here. Final Baton "combine trash 'n' roll with levelplanish emo and top it off with lyrics all in francais." Their debut album is due out in early 2007, but in the meantime you can check them out here.

Rob Halford To Debut New Solo Material

On November 21, Rob Halford will debut the first new Halford song in more than four years, "Forgotten Generation," on iTunes. The metal god wrote the tune and another new cut, "Drop Out," with the Halford band this year during downtime from working with Judas Priest on their upcoming album Nostradamus. "We just thought it would be nice to offer fans an earful of new Halford stuff and let everybody know we're still around," he said. Both new tracks will be available on Halford: Metal God Essentials - Volume 1, which comes out November 28. The album will contain 15 songs spanning Halford's solo career and will also be available exclusively through iTunes. Also on November 28, Halford will release the entire Halford catalog (Resurrection, Live Insurrection and Crucible), plus the Fight demo K5 the War of Words Demos. "We love iTunes," Halford said. "It's a tremendous format and they're really looking after the Metal God in a really great way."

Funeral Sign With Tabu Recordings

Norwegian cult doom band FUNERAL has inked a deal with Tabu Recordings.

Following a three-year hiatus and a personnel reshuffle caused by bassist Einar Frederiksen's untimely passing in 2002, FUNERAL continue the doom-spreading crusade that once earned them the label of "most depressing band in the world" with their new album release, "From These Wounds", via Tabu Recordings on December 4 in Norway and January 29 in Europe. Sentenced Reveal DVD Details

Details on Sentenced's forthcoming and final DVD, titled "Buried Alive" have been released. The concert was filmed by Finnish director Mika Ronkainen during the band's final gig in their hometown of Oulu, Finland on October 1, 2005. A DVD screening was held on September 9, 2006 at the Oulu Music Video Festival. The concert features a 25 song setlist, including a very special performance with former vocalist Taneli Jarva. Poisonblack Forced To Cancel Live Dates

Finnish gothic metallers POISONBLACK, featuring former SENTENCED vocalist Ville Laihiala, recently issued the following brief update:

"Poisonblack have to unfortunately cancel gigs between October 26th - 29th. Next gig is October 30th in Berlin."

Cancelled dates were scheduled for October 28th at Klubben in Stockholm, Sweden and October 29th at Tragarn in Gothenburg, Sweden. A reason was not given for the cancelled dates. Poisonblack's upcoming tour of Finland now includes the following dates: More...
