Rage Against the Machine to Reunite
Billboard has reported the following on Tom Morello's one man side project, The Nightwatchman, on Audioslave's current state of affairs, and on a possible Rage Against the Machine reunion:
Guitarist Tom Morello takes the mic for the first time on "One Man Revolution," his debut album as the Nightwatchman. Due April 24 via Epic, the 13-track set was produced by Brendan O'Brien and sports acoustic-based compositions that are a far cry from the heavy guitar rock Morello has purveyed in Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave.
The artist has been utilizing the Nightwatchman moniker for the past three years for performances, and has of late been hosting a Tuesday night residency at Los Angeles' Hotel Cafe. Among the guests that have dropped by recently are System Of A Down's Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill's Sen Dog and Perry Farrell.
Morello will tour this spring, including an appearance at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, in mid-March. But perhaps of most interest to hardcore fans are rumors that Rage Against The Machine may be reuniting for the first time in six-plus years to play the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this spring. Pandaimonium Records have posted the following update:
Clan Of Xymox are still busy with their first ever DVD - release is scheduled for Fall 2007. But of course Ronny's creativity won't let you wait that you long and he's currently finishing the works on a new EP...so far we talk about a release in April 2007 and one brand new song called "On A Mission" plus a remix (that Ronny did himself) of "Be My Friend" and a coverversion of a very well known song. VERY well known song actually. And it'll come in two versions. Anyone who saw Ronny's guest apperiance at WGT 2006 with Pink Turns Blue might have an idea...

M.A.N Signs European Deal With Gain Records
M.A.N, the new band formed out of the ashes of Sweden's TRANSPORT LEAGUE (featuring former MNEMIC frontman Tony Jelencovich), has signed a deal with the Gothenburg-based label Gain Records for the European release of the group's debut album, "Obey, Consume, Reject". The CD, which was originally issued in Sweden in March 2006, is expected to surface late March.
M.A.N recently began making pre-production demos of the material that will appear on the group's upcoming second album. This is the first recording featuring the band's new members, Andreas Engberg (drums), Robert Hakemo (bass; RELEVANT FEW, ex-ENGEL, GARDENIAN, KEROZENE, GOOSEFLESH) and newly recruited guitar maestro RobGuz.
Commented Jelencovich: "These new songs are the softest and most melodic songs we have ever written. Listening to the new outcome just feels like hearing angels singing while sitting on beautiful pink clouds. The lyrics has also gotten into another level; the songs deal with love, flowers and ...just happy things."
"Obey, Consume, Reject" was recorded and mixed at Grand Recordings in Gothenburg, Sweden by Svein Jensen. The mastering took place at the Mastering Room by Göran Finnberg.

Crossfire Catches Up With Peter Dolving
Through the medium of blogging, Haunted frontman Peter Dolving has become an unlikely subject of intense scrutiny, with many of his innermost thoughts and opinions frequenting the site’s news stories and chat bulletins quicker than most people shit after a night at a Curry House. Crossfire’s metallic veteran Ryan Bird recently caught up with the front man to discuss life as Blabbermouth’s most outspoken and accidental resident…
Hello. How are you, sir?
-Pretty god damned good, though I'm sorer than a whore’s ass! I started working out again a couple of weeks ago; new trainer, new regime. Harsh but good as gold.
Where in the world can we find you today?
-Farting around in my house in the woods outside Gothenburg. I spent the morning eating cookies with my kids at their school.
What does a typical day in the world of Peter Dolving entail – both on and off the road?
-At home: Laundry, vacuum cleaning, picking up toys and listening to the neverending rantings of two little Dolvings, who incidentally make me pale in comparison. And I train, sleep and eat. Chop wood, you know - I have a life pretty much.
-On tour: Sleep, get a massage, read, watch movies and try to not get involved with groupies or drugs.
You seem to have attracted a lot of attention with regards to your personal blog lately – particularly via Blabbermouth. Why do you think people focus so intently on your views when there are so many other artists out there with a similar thought log?
-Maybe ‘cause I'm so damned handsome? I’m fucked if I know. I should do a survey - I'm sure that would get the appreciation with the nose pickers cruising Blabbermouth.
Do you find it quite flattering or just plain amusing that people choose to single you out in such a way?
-I think it's mostly fodder for my weak ego. Otherwise I probably wouldn't keep doing it. As far as I know anyone so apt to talk and write about his emotions like myself have issues, big fucking slabs of the shit and yes, this is part of me dealing with it. But again, I think I'd probably still do it if I was a fairly balanced dude. There's some greater sense of pathos that just enjoy starting shit with assholes who deserve being fucked with. I have to bite my lip not to get into shit sitting at a diner sometimes. Basically - sexists, homophobes, racist, and outright oppressive powertripper fascism pisses me off. What am I supposed to do? Shut up because it's the cool thing to do? Fuck that. I live now. I don't have another life to do things in.

Naglfar Unveil 'Harvest' Album Artwork
Through trenchant seas, the seasoned crew on the ship NAGLFAR deliver their fifth and most accomplished slab of melodic black metal yet, Harvest. Perfectly fusing the raw energy of their earlier works with the inspired and cutting melodicism of 2005's Pariah, Harvest marks the raucous return of one of the genre?s most celebrated acts, and sees these five Swedes set their sights on sinister shores previously uncharted. The highly anticipated effort is set for a March 12th release.
Without sacrificing their trademark ferocity, NAGLFAR delve deeper into songwriting mode on Harvest, crafting nine brilliantly orchestrated tracks that stick harder than cement. Newest member Morgan Lie (bass) and Mattias Grahn (drums) provide the backdrop for the sharp, anguished screams of Kristoffer Olivius (vocals), who injects the release with an even more diverse array of vocal venom than that found on Pariah, his singing debut. NAGLFAR have created another masterpiece and find themselves the lone champion of all that is dark, technical, and unholy.
Official Harvest Track Listing: 01. Into The Black 02. Breathe Through Me 03. The Mirrors Of My Soul 04. Odium Generis Humani 05. The Darkest Road 06. Way Of The Rope 07. Plutonium Reveries 08. Feeding Moloch 09. Harvest
A limited edition of Harvest will also be available, which includes a bonus DVD with four professionally recorded live clips from the Party.San Festival 2006, a video for the Pariah track The Perpetual Horrors and an interview with Olivius. The cover artwork was handled by the acclaimed Travis Smith (Opeth, Nevermore) and can be viewed by clicking the link below. http://www.naglfar.net/enter_harvest.jpg
NAGLFAR will kick off the albums touring cycle in Japan this week with labelmates Celtic Frost and Satyricon. A video for the track The Darkest Road will be filmed by Roger Johansson (Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity) shortly after the band returns from Japan and an MP3 of the song will be posted online later this month.
White Skull Announce Replacement Singer

"The Ring of the Ancients" is WHITE SKULL's first album for Dragonheart following the group's split with Frontiers Records.
Underground Symphony recently released a WHITE SKULL double CD containing the Spanish version of "The Dark Age", called "La Era Oscura", which was previously available only in South America, plus a collection of unreleased and rare material, recorded during 1995-2005.

Dave Mustaine Announces Signature Guitar
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine and Dean Guitars have announced a new guitar line called the "Vehement: VMNT" (Photo#1, Photo#2), and unveiled the new instruments today (January 19) at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) convention in Anaheim, CA. (A live video feed of Dave Mustaine taking part in a signing session at the Dean Guitars booth at NAMM is available at this location.) Mustaine and Dean Guitars joined forces late last year and are working closely on the specifications of the guitar line.
"The whole process has been surreal," said Mustaine. "It's been dream-like, but is more real than any dream I've ever had. They understand what a guitarist expects out of his gear, and we share a vision, a loyalty and an understanding of guitars. Working with Dean has been one of the greatest thrills for me as a musician."
Commenting on his new Dean guitar, Mustaine said, "We designed this thing… the last couple of hours. [Laughs] It feels like that. Dean [Dean Guitars founder Dean B. Zelinsky] I talked a little bit over a month and a half ago. And we just went into the shop and started bulding this [guitar] right away. We wanted to make it play better than any of the other guitars I had, so we took a lot the old guitars that had really good things about them, and we added it all together, and this is the end result."
When asked why he chose Dean over other guitar companies, Mustaine said, "Because they understand the value of Dave Mustaine and MEGADETH. And it's mutual. I know that this is the right place for me to finish out my career, endorsing their products, and having my guitars made by Dean."

I sat two hours in a train and the guys drove 300km from our hellish hometown Suolahti to Helsinki. The shooting place was a really big and old train hall — really cool and cruel place. I think my neck is broken 'cos we banged our heads about 10 hours and we really hope you'll enjoy the video."

Novembers Doom Vocalist Publishes Book Of Lyrics
Paul Kuhr, frontman for Chicago’s dark metal act NOVEMBERS DOOM, will be releasing a limited edition book of lyrics, titled The Wayfaring Chronicles (limited to 300 copies), to accompany the pre-order of their forthcoming album, The Novella Reservoir, out February 20th, 2007 on The End Records.
About the book of lyrics, Kuhr comments, “Having completed our 6th full length release, we have built a small, but solid group of fans, and for years in interviews, and through fan correspondence, the question of lyrics is always asked. After much thought, I decided to write a book, full of lyrical explanations of every song from all 6 of our CD's. The book is 84 pages, completely in full color, and is filled, not only with the lyrics, but photos from every era of the band, promo and live, many never before seen. I believe I've created something original, at least in this genre of metal, and it's a great insight to the bands lyrical content for the fans, and the curious alike. Lyrically, I've been praised, as well as criticized for my honesty, and now the absolute truth is spelled out, and will surely give the fans a much deeper look into Novembers Doom. I hope you enjoy it!”
