Unofficial Iron Maiden DVD Due

Locomotive Records has set a January 30 North American release date for "The History of Fear", an unauthorized biographical documentary DVD of IRON MAIDEN that starts in the 1975 East London neighborhood where the band originated. After hitting the skids with local acts GYPSY'S KISS and SMILER, bassist Steve Harris knew he had to take that next step and transcend his working-man existence.

What he and his MAIDEN bandmates have accomplished in the years since is no less than staggering: 14 studio albums, four "best-of" compilations, nine live albums and four boxed sets — a mammoth 70 million records sold. Complete with interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, extensive discography and digital fan quiz, this is the IRON MAIDEN story.

Norwegian black metallers SLAGMAUR have inked a deal with Germany's Black Hate Productions.

Commented the band: "After a long period of searching for the right label,
SLAGMAUR has finally setteled down with the offer given by Black Hate. The offers have been numerous, but none of them could meet the demands set by SLAGMAUR.

"We in SLAGMAUR feel that Black Hate is the right label for us, mainly because of Black Hate's dedication to the underground and ideological views."

SLAGMAUR's first release through Black Hate will be the "Svin" demo, which launched the "Three Protocols of Fosen" trilogy. The "Svin" CD and vinyl will be released in Europe and USA next month. SLAGMAUR's own label, Nekk Brekk Records, will distribute the release in Norway. More...

Murder One Call It Quits

MURDER ONE, the British band featuring vocalists Paul Catten (ex-MEDULLA NOCTE) and John Loughlin (RAGING SPEEDHORN), bassist Jules McBride (ex-PULKAS), guitarists Mark Seddon (ex-MEDULLA NOCTE) and Dan Marshall, and drummer Jamie Airns, has issued the following update:

"Today and for the long, forseeable future, MURDER ONE have called it a day. No argument, no bullshit 'musical differences'....we just cannot continue. We're bold enough to say... 'No-one gives a fuck about the band any more!'... and we can deal with that.

"As a unit, we've never been better friends, sounded better and the new material was shaping up to be fine, BUT after spending the last 2-3 years fairly inactive due to constant misguidance and lethargy, we felt enough was enough. We shall all be continuing in other projects.

"Being in a band can drain you all of your dignity and self respect in the end. Each member has been through this very experience before and we intend on making sure it doesn't happen again.

"To the people who stuck with us, we're eternally grateful.... And to those who wasted our time, and drained our enthusiasm and interest in something we truly believed in....thanks for fuck all."

Previously planned tour dates with Textures in late February are presumed cancelled due to the breakup.

As previously reported, Murder One singer Paul Catten nearly died during a routine appendectomy around Christmas of 2006, but has now recovered from the surgery.

Immolation Prepares To Release EP and Album

IMMOLATION have completed recording sessions for their 2007 releases. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino, the new material is some of their darkest and heaviest yet, while once again providing a very unique sound and style from their past releases.

The EP will be entitled "Hope and Horror" and will contain the following tracks; "Den of Thieves", "The Condemned" and "The Struggle of Hope and Horror". The last track being an epic instrumental, the band's first ever. The EP itself is also a first for IMMOLATION and the band is extremely happy with how it came out. "The three tracks really showcase all of our strongest elements and some new approaches as well. I think people are really going to like it! The EP has it all!", says guitarist Robert Vigna.

Together with the 3 new exclusive tracks will be a DVD of an entire live set recorded last year at BB Kings night club in New York City. "The video work on this is amazing, the sound is raw, but you can make everything out really well. It really gets the live feel like your there!" says bass/vocalist Ross Dolan.

The full length album will be entitled "Shadows in the Light". It will feature the following 10 tracks; "Hate's Plague", "Passion Kill", "World Agony", "Tarnished", "The Weight of Devotion", "Breathing the Dark", "Deliverer of Evil", "Shadows in the Light", "Lying with Demons" and "Whispering Death". A dark twisted ride, "Shadows in the Light" is aggressive, emotional and haunting.
