Vulvacroma Release New EP
The Italians of Vulvacroma have released a new mini cd after two years of silence. The disc will contain 3 original songs, plus two covers (Sodom and Mayhem). The EP has been released through Sinque Productions.

Mork Gryning Announce European Dates
Swedish black metallers Mörk Gryning have announced that Kimera (Peter Nagy, also plays ina melodic death metal band called Hypocrite) will once again the handle the guitar during the band's upcoming "Darkness In Disguise" European tour with Green Carnation and Suidakra that will begin at the end of the month.

Dew-Scented Check In With An Update
German thrashers Dew Scented have made the following announcement on their official site:

So what's happening? First of all, thanks a lot for the great feedback on our new album "Impact". It's great to hear that you don't seem to feel let down or disappointed - But hey, we were promising a really heavy, relentless release, so...haha!

An Evening of Doom in Store for Langenzenn
A deadly doom evening has been lined up on November 15th in Langenzenn (30 km west of Nürnberg). The show will feature Mirror of Deception, Dead Heart Bleeding, Well of Souls, and Condemned to Suffer. Doors are at 7pm (18 Uhr) and the show starts at 7:30 (18:30), with entry set at 6 euro.
Disillusion Album to be released in January
On January 24, the six songs of Back to Times of Splendor will see the light of day. The disc will be mastered by Disillusion themselves in the next few weeks, and will be produced in November under the guidance of Alex Krull.
Guitarist Rajk said this about the delays: "We took our time because we wanted to deliver an album that stands up to our high requirements. We are content with these songs and we think the fans will love the album."
The Crown to Re-record "Crowned in Terror"
Swedish thrashers The Crown are currently in the studio working on the vocals for the new version of "Crowned In Terror", tentatively due in early 2004 through Metal Blade Records. The new CD will feature returning frontman Johan Lindstrand in place of Tomas Lindberg (ex-At The Gates), who was responsible for the vocal tracks on the original 2002 release. "We'll be in the studio the whole week, then leave for tour and most likely continue with it in December," the band write on their web site.
Woods of Belial New Completion of Debut LP
Woods Of Belial is almost finished with the work on their debut full length. Deimos XIII has been set as the title, and the disc is scheduled for a November 15th release through Firebox Records.
Meads of Asphodel Post Comments on Album
The new album of Meads Of Asphodel is finished and the band posted the following update: “The second album, Exhuming The Grave Of Yeshua, is due for release in October 2003 . With Jaldaboath gone, Metatron had six months to put a new band together and create the second album. Here it is. Again built around the concept of Christ’s mortality and the Church of Rome having its foundations built on hearsay and fabrication. This album features the new line up OR Metatron, J.D.Tait, Urakbarameel, Deorth and Max. The release includes a rerecorded version of ‘The Book of Dreams’ taken from the first demo. Demonism to Release New Disc in Early 2004
Demonism are currently working on their new studio album and expect an early 2004 release through Butchery Music.
Doom Shall Rise II Update
As previously reported, the Doom Shall Rise II festival will take place April 2/3, 2004 in Goppingen, Germany. The final act to be added to the bill for the festival are the reformed Count Raven.
In other line up news, Cold Embrace, who were previously scheduled to appear, have had to cancel their appearance.
Other acts added to the bill include: Drecksau, Doom Core and Spiritus Mortis.
Previously announced performers include: Mourning Beloveth, Penance, While Heaven Wept, Northwinds, Pantheist, Spancer, Thee Plague of Gentlemen, Shepherd, Ordodruin Wall of Sleep and The Doomsday Cult.
Ayreon Disc To Feature 12 Vocalists
Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen has revealed that he is at the moment hard at work in his Electric Castle studio on the follow up to Ayreon's Universal Migrator releases from 2000.
Currently the following five singers have been confirmed to appear on the release: Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe, ex-Psychotic Waltz), Mike Baker (Shadow Gallery), Eric Clayton (Saviour Machine), Magnus Ekwall (The Quill) and Heather Findlay (Mostly Autumn).
Seven more singers will be confirmed over the course of the next few months, as well as the names of instrumentalists, the concept, artwork and sound-samples. A release date has not yet been set.
Van Drunen to Sing with Death by Dawn
Former Pestilence/Asphyx/Bolt Thrower frontman Martin Van Drunen will be appearing on the new CD from German death metallers Death By Dawn. The singer, who played two shows with the group in early October (in Germany and Italy), will continue to make music and perform live with the band during the coming months.
Tape & Old Dead Tree to Join Paradise Lost Tour
Germany's Tape and France's Old Dead Tree have been added to the bill for some of the forthcoming Paradise Lost European shows.

Entombed add Second Seattle Show
Sweden's Entombed have added a second Seattle show to their "Six Feet Under Tour" on Saturday, October 26 at Studio 7. Entombed will be supported by Single Bullet Theory, Nocturne and Seattle locals The Braindead, In Memorium, NME and Vs The World. The show will be all ages (bar w/ ID), and tickets will be available for $10 ($6 for those presenting tickets from the previous night's Entombed/King Diamond show at the Fenix Underground in Seattle). The doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the show starts at 5:00 p.m. Studio 7 is located at 110 South Horton in Seattle.
Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits Album Cancelled?
A representative of Universal Music has revealed to BW&BK that the previously announced GUNS N’ ROSES Greatest Hits album that was due out on November 25th through Geffen has been pulled from the labels release schedule.
A reason for the cancellation was not given and whether or not the disc will be rescheduled is yet to be seen.

Flaw Lose A Drummer
FLAW have parted ways with their drummer Chris Ballinger and are currently seeking a replacement. Auditions will be held over the next month in New York City, NY, those interested, must be ready to tour relentlessly as the band will begin touring in January 2004. Symphony X Confirms Tour With Devin Townsend Band
On November 12th, Symphony X embarks on their first-ever full North American headline tour, with Canada’s Devin Townsend Band in tow.
Following the tour, Symphony X will head back to the studio to craft their next sonic sculpture for the New Year.

Ozzy Osbourne Unlikely To Play Newcastle
Former Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne is unlikely to play Newcastle, England next year, Telewest Arena bosses warned Tuesday (October 21).
It had been hoped he would perform at the venue in the spring after canceling his European tour last week to receive treatment for a nervous tremor.
He was originally booked to play the Arena this Sunday but now the venue is offering all ticket holders full refunds, according to The Evening Chronicle.
Tickets are being refunded at points of purchase. For credit card and Internet tickets bought via Ticketmaster at the Arena box office, tickets should be returned to Ticketmaster UK Ltd, Fifth Floor, City Cube, 20 Lever Street, Manchester, M1 1EN. The credit cards will be refunded, along with the booking fee.
The Eagles Of Death Metal New Album
The Eagles Of Death Metal, the new band featuring Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Jesse "The Devil" Hughes, will release their long-delayed full-length album, "Peace, Love, and Death Metal", on February 14 through Homme's Rekords Rekords label imprint. In the meantime, the group will be touring with PLACEBO during November and December. Download a full-length MP3 of the track "I Only Want You" at this location.
Josh had previously described The Eagles Of Death Metal's music as "stripper drum-beats, bluegrass slide guitar, bass, death metal and Canned Heat vocals as well. The primary source of The Eagles is a guy named Jesse 'The Devil' Hughes. He's a member of the National Rifle Association who tries to spread the word of the Devil everywhere, loves porno and crystal meth."

Metallica Cancels South America, Japan Tours
There is an official statement regarding the cancelled METALLICA dates for South America and Japan from Intersandman.com. They pulled this quote from the a Brazilian chapter of the MetClub:
"We'd like to tell you that Brazilian concerts of METALLICA are officially cancelled. The producer just e-mailed us telling that. Also, the producer tells that money back thing will be know later today, through an official statement about the cancelation of the shows. We also know that Sony from Japan confirmed the cancelation on that country, like a newspaper in Chile. So, we all are very sorry about that and we getting worried because we sent e-mails for MetClub asking what happened and, until now, no answers we get."
A confirmation from the members of METALLICA has not yet been made.
