Full Blown Chaos Signs To Ironclad Recordings

Ironclad Recordings has announced the addition of heavy hardcore powerhouse Full Blown Chaos from Queens, New York to the roster. The band is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their follow up to 2007's "Heavy Lies the Crown" (Ferret Music). The as of yet to be titled album will likely be released sometime in January 2011.

"We have reinforced our style of writing with a more prevalent sound while keeping to our roots of audible mayhem.", vocalist Ray Mazzola said of the bands new material. "We are a 5 piece now so we are capable of doing so much more."

Touring non-stop has been a creed that Full Blown Chaos deems necessary, "Touring as much as we have in the past is an absolute necessity in this era of music and genre," Mazzola added. "You need to be in everyones face and make them remember you wether they like it or not. There are so many heavy bands out there its hard to distinguish ones self by music alone sometimes. Our band and music stands out because you can feel and hear the struggle and time we have invested. That alone will set us apart from the impetuous herd of todays groups."

Pit Stories: Honing Your Skills, Through Sickness

We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week, Downspirit guitarist Cédric “Cede” Dupont offers up an interesting story about what could have been one of his worst experiences ever:

Right, let me start right away with that one recap of everything: It was HOT as hell, it was sweaty, it was crazy.

Last year, 2009 that was, right when we had the line up together to hit the stages right before we were going to record “Point of Origin,” our debut album, we were playing some sort of smaller clubs, just to see if we could get the material to a sound we were looking for.

So, this weekend, I had a terrible fever, and I could hardly get my ass out of bed, but a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do right?! So, heading to the club, almost fainting already before even having had a single note played on my guitar, I started to feel kinda weird again, and thought I’d get it away by drinking some liquor (it’s the best medicine, ya know). It definetely helped…being close to start fainting even more! Haha.

Anyway, we played the show, I kinda almost fell off stage, I almost fell backward right into my rig, and the good thing was, I was so terribly fucked up, I just thought I was about to die on that small freaking stage.

But you wanna hear the best? I was watching a videotape later that week, and who knows why, but I played the best show of my life, musically. It’s unbelievable...not a single mistake!

Downspirit's debut album "Point of Origin" just got a North American release earlier this month on Metalville. The band has more tour dates planned in 2010. Check out their MySpace page for the latest tour dates ans some music. Or check out some music on the widget below:

Accept Enters German Albums Chart

German heavy metal legends Accept have entered the albums chart in their native country at number four with their first studio album in fourteen years, "Blood Of The Nations." A message from guitarist Wolf Hoffmann reads as follows:

"This really swept us off our feet! Of course, you dream about being on top of the charts, but this was pretty much out of the question. We tested new waters with our new singer Mark [Tornillo, ex-TT Quick] and emerged as winners! But even more than that, this is the reward for our unique collaboration with our label Nuclear Blast, Brainstorm Music Marketing, and all the others who gave their everything for Accept. But most of all, we want to thank our fans without whom we would be nothing! THANK YOU!"

David Ellefson Checks In From The Road

Megadeth's David Ellefson has checked in with the following comments on the band's show in Long Beach:

"What an awesome night in Long Beach, CA! Sold out in advance and a killer pit as well. Another great hang backstage with everyone like Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Tony Campos (Static X), Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), Metal Sanaz and Kenny G (that's right, he's very metal!). LA is always a good hang of the west coast metal crew who come out to see a good metal show and tonight seemed to be the one. It was good to be back at this particular arena where we've played so many times over the years as both a support act for Alice Cooper and Dio in the1980's and then headlining since 1992."

Tristania Comments On New Album Release

Tristania has issued the following update about releasing the band's new album "Rubicon" worldwide today:

"Today is a very special day for us. 'Rubicon,' Tristania's sixth album, and the first one to feature Mariangela and Kjetil is available everywhere. When we started out with the first ideas and drafts for the new album more than two years ago, this day seemed very far away. The process of writing and producing the album has been so consuming and overwhelming, that I've had problems imagining how the life on 'the other side' of the release would be. But the day has come, and on behalf of the band, I'd like to thank all you people who have been following us, and supporting us through the entire thing.

"Even if this day most of all feels like an end, it is the beginning of something much bigger, and much more exciting. We are now a band strong, eager and hungry to get back on the road to play, to serve the songs on 'Rubicon' justice, and play a variety of songs from Tristania's remarkable career. Old fans will meet some new faces, but many of you know us very well by now. And I think every Tristania fan will recognize the spirit, identity and vision of the band. Stay in touch, and keep up the support. It is much appreciated. 'Rubicon' should be available in a record store or an iTunes shop near you."

"Hey guys, We've officially released the single, 'Last Chance' from the new album. Have a listen or five, and forward this on to all of your friends. Being the 'single', please note this is the more straight-forward song from the album, which represents the full package best. There are much more melodic and much more insanely heavy, progressive moments on the album, so stay put until it's released on October 12th!"

Nergal Thanks Fans For Support

Behemoth frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski has posted a message online thanking his fans for the many messages of support he has received since being diagnosed with leukemia. His message reads as follows:

"I haven't intended to manifest myself in any way and, especially at this stage, to share my feelings or any other news with the world for obvious reasons. It is simply too early for it. But it was YOU who provoked me to say a few words. Regarding my personal low opinion of humankind, I'm shocked by the reaction to my illness. I actually expected NOTHING yet received feedback which surpassed all expectations. I want to ensure you I read EACH mail I receive, although I'm unable to reply to all of them. The power of your words is pure magic and I thank you all for it. You are a gigantic indestructible army that truly inspires me in this difficult time. The fact is that a fight with this illness is going to last for many months. Most of this time I will spend in hospital and I will go through various psychophysical states. If you know the history of Behemoth you also know we achieved everything by hard work and a steely determination. The same goes for my private life. I happen to be a strong son of a bitch. I have no faith but rely on a 100% victory and I am sure I will get out of it stronger than ever. Sun Tzu in his 'Art of War' said that if you know your enemy and yourself the result of a thousand battles will not surprise you… I enter the ring with this Nietzschean attitude and I will leave it as a winner, as usual. Just watch and see! More...

Reverend Says Christians Can Learn From Metal

In a recent report by Martin Beckford of the British newspaper, The Telegraph, an English Reverend stated that heavy metal has many important values that Christians could learn from. The report reads as follows:

Christians could learn a lot about life from listening to heavy metal, according to a Church of England cleric.

The Rev Rachel Mann claims that the much-maligned form of music demonstrates the "liberative theology of darkness," allowing its tattooed and pierced fans to be more “relaxed and fun” by acknowledging the worst in human nature.

She says that by contrast, churchgoers can appear too sincere and take themselves too seriously. More...
