Demon Hunter Discusses New Music, Faith, And More

Seattle's Demon Hunter has become one of the most mainstream recognized Christian bands in metal lately, appealing to religious and non-religious audiences alike. The group released "The World is a Thorn" earlier this year, and is currently lining up a string of European dates. Demon Hunter's Jonathan Dunn spoke with about the band's concept and the issues behind the name, stating "The title is definitely not meant to be taken literally, although we do get some people who take it literally and that sometimes gets a little weird trying to explain that to them. It’s more trying to be in reference to your personal demons and issues you are dealing with and going through. It’s more in that aspect of hunting down demons."

Dunn goes on to discuss his personal faith and belief in Christianity, his musical roots and more recent influences, and the possibility of the band working on new material next year. More...

Steve Von Till Discusses New Neurosis Releases

While discussing how the band is frequently referred to as sludge or atmospheric hardcore, guitarist/vocalist Steve Von Till stated,"The words people use to define microgenres are just ridiculous. Cyber death doom dip, whatever the hell. It doesn’t mean anything. What matters to us is if it has an emotional impact. Does it make you feel something real? Does it feel honest and genuine? Is it intense? Is it original? Nothing else matters."

Steve spoke with me recently about the band releasing the "Live at Roadburn 2007" album, as well as the re-release of the early "Enemy of the Sun" disc. We also discussed the writing of new Neurosis material, and what the group has planned for live appearances in the coming year. More...

Trent Reznor Working On "Year Zero" TV Series

It is being reported that; Nine Inch Nails frontman and founding member Trent Reznor is currently in the development stages of creating a televevison series centered around the band's 2007 studio album "Year Zero." Trent Reznor commented by saying:

"We are in pre-production with HBO and BBC to do a miniseries. It’s exciting. I probably shouldn’t say too much about it except that I understand that there’s a thousand hurdles before anything shows up in your TV listing. It’s been an interesting and very educational process and it cleared the HBO hurdle a few months ago and now we’re writing drafts back and forth. So it’s very much alive and incubating at the moment.

"BBC was the first to show interest and came on as the studio. Our writer is Daniel Knauf from ‘Carnivale’ and he’s busy with pages right now and revising the overall world Bible. It’s been an interesting collaborative effort but I’ve learned that [television development] moves at a glacial pace."

Reckon With One Issues Update On Upcoming EP

Canadian thrash metal band Reckon With One has issued the following update on their new EP:

"Just a quick update about what’s going on with the EP. I have found a great artist to do the artwork for the CD. His name is Eduardo Rodriguez and he runs his own company called Inkfusion Band Merch. If the name sounds familiar it’s probably because you have seen some of his work. He has worked with bands like, SPEWGORE, PROFANER, CRIMSON SHADOWS and PANZERFAUST to name a few. So I'm hoping to get the artwork in a few weeks and will be sure to post it on all sites related to Reckon With One for all to see. I can't wait to see the final product, especially now that I’ve decided on a title for the EP. It will be called Before The Storm and it will tie in with the full length album, Tornadic, that will be worked on later this year."

"Also there is going to be a special limited edition t-shirt coming out in conjunction with the release of the EP, there will be a limited number made so keep your eyes open and grab one before they are gone."
