Ozzy Osbourne's Biography Bumped To May
The following report is courtesy of Oliver Duff from Independent.co.uk:
Despite acknowledging that, "it takes me 18 months to read a fucking pamphlet", OZZY OSBOURNE last year agreed to join the ranks of CS Forester, Evelyn Waugh, PG Wodehouse and JD Salinger at publisher Little, Brown, by signing a lucrative deal to write his memoirs. It was to be released in time for our stockings this week.
Unsurprisingly, for a man who has slow-cooked his cortex in adventurous chemicals, there were hitches in collecting the rocker's thoughts. Seven months ago, Pandora reported that Ozzy (busy touring) had missed his deadline, requiring wife Sharon to pen an emergency follow-up to her own autobiography.
The publisher rescheduled his bingeing, bat-biting extravaganza for release on May 1st, 2008.
Inner Surge To Release New Album Next Month
Canadian metal band INNER SURGE will officially release their new CD, An Offering, on January 26th through Cyclone Records and Overthrow Promotions.
According to a press release, "rather than taking the typical promotional route, An Offering is being showcased through a series of cryptic YouTube videos with controversial imagery. The track 'Limb From Limb' morphs exiled evangelist Ted Haggard into Jesus Christ amidst the politically charged lyrics 'There's more than one Ted Haggard creeping up on the kneeling. They don't need Jesus to save them. They've got friends in higher places.' 'Interahamwe', a sarcastic first person perspective of the Interahamwe militias, thanks to the US, France and the international media for supporting their efforts in killing hundreds of thousands of people. The American flag is shown fading into a pile of skulls from a Rwandan genocide memorial. More...

Commented festival organizers, CRJ Productions: "The news came just in time for Christmas, and made the holidays that much better for us considering how long we've been trying to make this happen! It's been several years since the Legion has pummelled a Chicago area venue and we're all very hungry to see them do it once again! Their last Chicago area headlining performance was in 1999...although, it's been much longer since they've played here with Alex Skolnick, so this should give Midwest fans something to get really excited about."

Concert Sales Slump in 2007
TuneLab Music reports: High-priced reunion tours by The Police, Van Halen and Genesis failed to prevent the North American concert industry from posting its worst year since 2004, according to a music industry trade publication. The top 20 tours generated $996 million, down 15.6 percent from the year before, according to Pollstar. The previous low was $951.1 million in 2004, when Prince and Madonna topped the box office.
However, 2007 kicked off as an amazing year for metal tours in the US and the tours seemed solid throughout, so I'm not too concerned about the overall trend.
