Arch Enemy Prepares New Album

Swedish metal band Arch Enemy is currently working on material for their next album. Thus far the group has written 7-8 new tracks. According to guitarist Michael Amott, the songs are "life-changing and ridiculously huge metal hymns; this is all my own (not so) humble opinion of course. You'll see."

The band has booked studio time for March and April, with a release expected in summer 2007 via Century Media Records.

Apiary Replaces Departed Singer

San Jose, CA outfit Apiary has officially announced a replacement for singer, Jason Ingram, who left the group this past summer. Joining the band is Makh Daniels, who has done time in Clearing Autumn Skies and Betray The Species.

Edison, New Jersey's MUTINY is a young group making its way up through the muck and myre of the metal underground scene. They have been working hard to find that defining sound for themselves and are currently in the midst of looking for a new lead vocalist, though they will continue with their current lineup through year's end. One thing you can't say about these guys is that they don't have drive and determination. Because they do. And that's what it takes, no matter what pitfalls you come across when developing your band along the way, it's the guys that keep their nose to the grind even when it's literally being grinded down to a bloody nub that makes it truly happen for themselves in the music world. Mucopus Working on New Album

Mucopus are currently hard at work on their upcoming album. The effort, due out summer 2007 via Nice To Eat You Records, will be recorded soon at Shaark Studios in Brno, CZ.

The band has also announced that they will be playing at both the Czech Republic's Obscene Extreme open-air festival and Germany's Deathfest open-air festival this summer.

SOILENT GREEN is currently in the middle of working on new material for their next release that will be available through a new label.

Soilent Green has come to the end of their contractual agreements with Relapse Records and is moving on to a new label (information to be released shortly) for their next release to be recorded in 2007.

Godhead Post Acoustic Performance Online

GODHEAD participated in an all-star Toys for Tots benefit on December 15 at the Roxy in West Hollywood, California. Watch the acoustic version of "Far Too Long" at this location.

Dir En Grey Post Live Video Online

Japanese band DIR EN GREY has posted its video for the song "Agitated Screams of Maggots" at this location (Windows Media). The track is the title cut of the group's upcoming EP, which is due in the U.S. on January 9, 2007 as a limited-edition release sold exclusively via F.Y.E. stores. The EP will include the studio recording of the song "Agitated Screams of Maggots" as well as three cuts recorded live at the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo during the summer of 2006, where the band headlined two nights at the 8,000-capacity venue. The track listing is as follows:
