Candiria Album Delayed

Candiria continues to operate in a holding pattern following the departure of drummer Kenneth Schalk earlier this year. Guitarist John Lamacchia has issued the following update:

"If you are not already aware, Ken Schalk has left the band. It's heart breaking I know, but he needed to explore new things. So Ken, we wish you all the best.

The new album, 'Kiss The Lie,' is now on hold because of the lack of a touring band. The label does not believe this record will sell enough copies without a touring band to justify a release. Therefore they are reluctant to release it. We are trying to come up with a marketing plan and a budget that will satisfy both the label and the needs of the record.

This is where we are at this point. As soon as we figure this out we will let all of you know. The new record is great and different and new and the artwork is beautiful so I personally can't wait for people to hear it. The line up for the record is as follows...

Carley Coma
John Lamacchia
Michael MacIvor
Ken Schalk
Eddie Ortiz

I am trying my best to keep this thing alive to get this new record out to you all."

Impious Complete Recording, Announce Track Listing

Swedish Powerhouse Impious has finished recordings for their forthcoming new album "Holy Murder Masquerade."

"The album was mainly recorded at my own 'Studio Deadline'", comments guitarist Valle Adzic. "Only drums were recorded at Studio Mega. Simply because when it was time for recording the drums, my studio wasn't quite finished."

The new album is different to its predecessor. "We had one goal: To make the songs more simple and memorable. We wanted more songs that people can easily sing along with on concerts. When we were done with the album, we realized we had a little bit more melodies than before, and the average tempo was a bit slower. But it still sounds like Impious... just a little bit more Impious than before."

"Holy Murder Masquerade" is a concept album, a real bloody one indeed. "We hired this Italian guy Andrea Cavaletto who does horror comics for a living. The whole booklet is made like a comic book, with the lyrics inserted in those speech balloons just like in an ordinary comic book. We also hired professional voice actors to bring life to the characters. The story is about this guy, Trent, who is a true servant of God; at least according to his own sick mind. He's soon to complete his work and the listener/reader gets to follow him as he arrives at his final destination. There are a lot of deaths, violence, blood, etc... It's a brutal story indeed."

"I actually came up with the comic idea after reading a review where it said the music was very good, but not original. That got me thinking... I didn't want to change our music, so what was there more to change? Well, the lyrical part! And from that moment everything just came to me. Why not make a concept album where the listener can follow the whole story both sonically, lyrically and even visually?? So we did! It took us thousands and thousands hours of work, but we did it! This way you get a whole new experience, and you definitely miss out on very much if you just download the album on the internet."

"When we recorded the title track "Holy Murder Masquerade" we felt that the song needed some screaming vocals. So we contacted long time friend Thomas Backelin from Lord Belial, and he was happy to do it."

The cover was done by Justin Kamerer who has done work for bands like Slayer, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Black Sabbath, and more.

The band has already seen two major label releases and been on nationwide and South American tours, including playing Ozzfest in 1999). The band offers up a fury-laced Latin metal sound that is unrivaled and seems to be gaining fans daily in the same outright explosiveness inwhich they deliver their unmistakable sound. They have just released their new album "Steep Trails" off Beiler Brothers Records and I am really happy to have conducted this recent Q&A with their very down to earth lead vocalist, Ikaro Stafford. Into Eternity Announce New Members

INTO ETERNITY will kick off 2007 with a short run of headlining dates leading them into a major U.S. tour this spring. This trek also marks the addition of new members, Steve Bolognese (ex-Beyond The Embrace) on drums and Justin Bender on guitars. Tim Roth (guitars, vocals) states: “We are really excited to announce Steve and Justin as permanent members. Both will be hitting the road with us in January. They figured all the music out by ear, so I didn't have to teach them anything. That just blew me away. Steve can do rapid-fire double-bass at 240 beats per minute, so the drumming on the new album won't be a problem for him. Look for us on the road in the U.S. this spring. See you soon.” More...

CKY Signs To Roadrunner Records

Roadrunner Records has announced the worldwide signing of CKY. Formed in Pennsylvania in 1998 by Deron Miller (vocals/guitars), Chad I Ginsburg (guitars/vocals) and Jess Margera (drums), CKY's debut album Vol. 1 surfaced in 1999 on the indie label Volcom Entertainment, and was eventually picked up by Island Def Jam in 2001. The band's first Island Def Jam album and breakthrough Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild came in 2002, followed three years later by An Answer Can Be Found.

"CKY is a massively underrated band," says Roadrunner Senior VP A&R Monte Conner. "Everything about them screams unique, from Deron Miller's dark, melodic vocals and iconoclastic songwriting, to Chad I Ginsburg's cutting-edge production and mix techniques, to their one-of-a-kind guitar sound and rampant use of the Moog synthesizer. They simply sound like no other band I have ever heard. I've known Deron since he was a teenager and have been dying to work with CKY ever since I heard the stunning Infiltrate-Destroy-Rebuild album. I am honored to finally have the opportunity to do so, with such a forward-thinking band."

Deron Miller shares the enthusiasm: "Roadrunner is one of my all-time favorite labels, so for me this partnership is very inspiring on a personal level and the fans will hear that on our next record."

Adds Jess Margera, "It's seriously an honor to be working with such a legendary rock/metal label like Roadrunner. CKY has had a great relationship with Roadrunner over the years and our signing with them seems long overdue."

"CKY has never had the rep for being an easy band to work with," affirms Chad I Ginsburg. "We've only been honest and best of all, enterf**kintaining! Believe it. That said, Roadrunner, the label with God-sized balls, has decided to take the CKY challenge! God bless ‘em! So, that's two laser-sighted entities combined. Legendary. The potential is exciting to say the least. The future is purely for our enjoyment. CKY & RR - Let's do this."

CKY's official website is run by their fans, The CKY Alliance, and numbers 250,000 members strong. The band is extremely involved with the site and hence shares a close relationship with their very dedicated fans. Over the years, they have personally answered 9,500 questions from fans on the "Ask CKY" section of the site.

After the addition of new bassist Matt Deis in July 2005, CKY embarked on a rigorous touring cycle which ended this past August following a highly successful European run. After taking a much needed break, CKY has just began the conception and planning process towards what begs to be a highly labor intensive and collaborative effort. Look for new music sometime in 2007.

Check CKY's tour schedule for some celebratory dates just booked in their hometown of Philadelphia.
