Ghost Machinery Sign To Sound Riot Records
Finnish melodic power metal band GHOST MACHINERY have signed to SOUND RIOT RECORDS. The band brings Pete Ahonen, the talent vocalist & guitar-player of BURNING POINT, an artist from Limb Music. The GHOST MACHINERY music differs of the Burning Point music in some aspects, it's more melodic and symphonic, and the neo-classical elements are showed here clearly. In September 2003, they recorded a promo-CD with 5 tracks for some labels. Sound Riot was the first label chosen by them. In November 10, after short negotiations, they signed a record deal to 2 full-length albums with Sound Riot.
They will be recording their debut album at Tonebox Studios until end of this year. The album will feature 12 or 13 songs, and more a cover song of Gary Moore.
Susperia Are Back And Unlimited
Susperia, the Oslo based extreme metal band featuring vocalist Athera, bass guitarist Memnock, drummer Tjodalv (Dimmu Borgir) along with guitarists Elvorn and Cyrus are currently in the final stages of recording their forthcoming album ‘Unlimited’ - the bands first for their new label Tabu Recordings (A Div of Tuba Records, Norway).
Most of the album is being recorded at Subsonic Society Studios in Oslo while the drums were tracked at Studio Fredman (At The Gates, Soilwork) in Gothenburg Sweden, where the final mix and mastering will also take place.
Titles for some of the newly recorded tracks include: ‘Home Sweet Hell’, ‘Chemistry’, ‘Beast By Design’ and ‘Mind Apart’. Commenting on the songs, vocalist Athera said “The songwriting has taken an enormous turn, not only innovative but harder, heavier, faster, and even more powerful. This new material has to be heard to be believed.” Susperia have also chosen an interesting song to cover, which will be featured on a special edition of the ‘Unlimited’ album. Whilst exact details are being kept under wraps at the moment, they have revealed that an internationally renowned Norwegian band originally recorded it. Though it will come as a surprise to many it will definitely be done the Susperia way.
Almost two years have passed since the release of the bands groundbreaking extreme metal album ‘Vindication’ . The follow up to their 2001 explosive debut ‘Predominance’ The albums paved the way for their appearance as co-headliner at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in 2002 and a headline mini tour of Mexico.
Unlimited is set to hit the streets worldwide in March 2004.
