Electro-rock band RURIK is pleased to announce that they have completed 3 songs with Producer Tim Harkins (Korn, RATM, Jerry Cantrell). The songs were recorded at Henson Studios (formerly A&M Studios) and mixed at Elementree Studios. Mastering Engineer Dave Collins has finalized the project.
RURIK has been packing fans in at larger Hollywood nightclubs. Upcoming gigs include Dec 12th 9:00pm at The El Rey Theatre.
From The Garage To The Radio Reality Show
With the popularity of “reality” TV at an all-time high, Garage Radio plans to raise the bar with a new concept in streaming entertainment by launching a series called “From the Garage to the Radio.”
The series will follow the construction of a heavy Rock band from the audition and hire of four Dallas area musicians, through and beyond their first live gig. The series will be presented in half hour weekly shows and streamed from Garage Radio in both audio and video.
“From the Garage to the Radio” will air completely uncensored and feature personal interviews with the band members throughout the entire series, creating a “live” biography of a real band in the making. The series will also take listeners/viewers into the band’s practice sessions, the song-writing process, and business decisions after which the band hopes to cut a demo and market themselves to labels throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Garage Radio is scheduled to begin auditions on January 2, 2004. Garage Radio Founder, Mike Foxworthy, will both produce the show and participate as the band’s drummer. “We’ve wanted to raise the bar for independent artists in order to achieve global acceptance," he says. "This is a new project that will not only bring attention to GR, but also to the artists that have made it so great. The show will also be a great opportunity to show off our capabilities.”
The auditions will be open all musicians, male and female, in the Dallas, Texas area possessing Heavy Metal and hard Rock influences both new and old. Garage Radio will be judging musicians based on ability, creativity, image, attitude, and dedication.
Inquiries about participating in “From the Garage to the Radio” on any level may be emailed to John Foxworthy at Roadrash@garageradio.com.
