70000 Tons Of Metal 2023: Day Two
Rise and shine sea dogs! The second day of 70000 Tons Of Metal 2023 dawned and with it came the knowledge that the Pool Deck, perhaps the most notable stage on board the ship, was open for business with plenty of favourites ready to let their sound ride the Caribbean wind. Opening the stage was German power metal veterans Freedom Call, perhaps the happiest metal band on Earth, though personally, I was less than chipper to wake up just after they'd finished their set, missing out on the fun in the sun. So after a quick shower, it was time to head up to the eleventh floor for my first taste of sea air and outdoor metal this year.
Despite missing out on Freedom Call, perhaps there was no better way to get into the spirit of things than by witnessing one of your bucket list bands, which in my case was Dutch death metal legends, God Dethroned. The quartet has been on a roll since their second return in 2014, releasing two excellent albums with a third reportedly in production and watching this lineup, it's safe to assume that God Dethroned has never been healthier. They looked as if they were enjoying themselves as much as the fans were and songs like "Poison Fog" and "No Man's Land" sounded absolutely amazing. Swedish death metal veterans Hypocrisy has been announced as the final name for this year's edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise. Dutch death metal band Bodyfarm has been announced by the organisers of 70000 Tons Of Metal has the latest name for this year's edition of the festival, which will set sail in just over a week on January 30th and last until February 3rd. It will be a special voyage for the band as one of their two performances will be a new album live world premiere of their upcoming release, "Ultimate Abomination" where they will play this album from front to back.

Austrian blackened death metal stalwarts Belphegor has been announced as the latest addition for this year's edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise. Three More Bands Confirmed For 70000 Tons 2023
The organisers of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise have confirmed a further three names for the 2023 edition of the event, which will launch in just over two weeks on January 30th from Miami, Florida, before returning on February 3rd. Now added to the lineup are Dutch outfit Dear Mother, Canadian progressive metal band Osyron and Colombian melodic death metal group Eshtadur.

German death metal veterans Atrocity are the latest band to be confirmed for the upcoming 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, which is scheduled to set sail on January 30th and head to Bimini, The Bahamas, before returning to Miami on February 3rd.

The announcements for the 2023 edition of 70000 Tons Of Metal are coming thick and fast with the organisers of the cruise confirming two more names for the voyage today. British death metal legends Cancer will be boarding the ship, as will German Viking metal band Wolfchant. Speaking on the announcement, Cancer said:
"We are beyond stoked to announce that we will be spreading this fatal disease called death fucking metal at the one and only 70000tons, the world's biggest heavy metal cruise in just a few weeks!
"We've definitely never played in a setting like this one, so you can imagine the four of us are quite excited about it! A good bunch of friends and bands that we love have been already announced and we'll all make a total of 60 artists playing two sets each when the whole line-up gets revealed!

Vektor Pulled From 70000 Tons Of Metal
Last night, the organisers of the 70000 Tons Of Of Metal cruise announced that Sci-Fi thrashers Vektor would be performing in the 2023 edition of the event. In the past hour, the 70000 Tons social pages have confirmed that the band have since been removed from the event. While no reason has been cited, there were angry responses from attendees past and present owing to allegations made against lead vocalist David DiSanto by his ex-wife.
70000 Tons Of Metal will sail from Miami on January 30th and last until February 3rd, during which time the ship will dock in Bimini, Bahamas.
