Manson Fined, Avoids Jail

Marilyn Manson has been fined $4,000 by a Michigan court after facing various charges for gyrating his genitalia against a security guard’s head during a show on the Ozzfest tour in July 2000. But Manson escaped any prison sentence for the incident. The controversial star, though, still faces a lawsuit being brought against him by security guard David M. Diaz for a similar incident in Minneapolis in October 2000.

Korn have cancelled dates in Toronto and Montreal on June 26 and 27. This is because they have to return to Los Angeles to deal with a ‘personal matter.’

December Finish Video

December have finished work on their first video, for the song "Host". Filmed on an airstrip in the desert outside December's hometown of Reno, Nevada, the video contains "fighter jets, old cars, and heavy fucking metal," according to guitarist Julian Peach. Director Pete Bridgewater (Mortiis, Autonomy) says it's the best work of his career

Cattle Decapitation Album Ready for Release

Cattle Decapitation's new album, To Serve Man, has been recorded mixed and mastered! The artwork by Wes Benscoter is in and it is quite disturbing. Expect the album to be in stores July 29th. German Metal Blade distributor SPV refused to put the album in stores due to the brutal artwork. This means that To Serve Man will be available in Germany only through the usual mail order companies.

Injury Delays Stormhammer

Stormhammer have been forced to delay the progress of the recording sessions for their forthcoming Cyber Mortis CD after bassist Horst injured his left hand in a bike accident. As a result, it is unclear if the group will be able to make the album's planned fall release date.

Cathedral's Songs of Praise

Cathedral are scheduled to enter Chapel Studios on July 2nd with producer Kit Woolven (who had previously worked with the group on their Carnival Bizarre and Supernatural Birth Machine albums) to record their seventh album, tentatively entitled Songs Of Praise, for a late 2002 release through the group's new label Dreamcatcher Records.

As previously reported, the musical direction on the upcoming effort will be "not quite so doom as Endtyme, a bit more catchy in places, but still very heavy, with quite a diverse mix of tunes." Among the tracks set to appear on the album are the following: More...

The Project Hate Confirmed for Tuska

The Project Hate, featuring Jörgen Sandström of Entombed/Grave fame, and fellow Swedes 2 Ton Predator will play at Tavastia Club in Helsinki, Finland on July 12th as part of the Tuska 2002 festival.
