Centinex to Join Deicide on European Tour
Candlelight Records confirms the participation of Sweden's Centinex on Deicide's fall tour of Europe. The tour marks the band's first full tour of Europe in nearly two years, and their first extensive tour in support of their latest album, Diabolical Desolation.
Set to begin in England, the tour will work its way through 8 countries, including France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, The Netherlands and more. Bassist Martin Shulman says, "I'm sure the tour with Deicide will be a blast. We haven't done any proper European touring in two years, so we are really looking forward to presenting the Diabolical Desolation live on stage."
Old Man's Child Complete Recording
The recording of the new Old Man's Child album, titled Infidel, is now finished. No release date has been set yet, but the album will contain nine new songs, one of which is instrumental.
Win a Chance to Play With Agathodaimon
Agathodaimon will have a special contest for an upcoming gig at Vienna's "Planet Music", where they will play on October 19th.
If you're in a band that would like to play there together with Agathodaimon, you may send an MP3 to agathodaimon@nuclearblast.de. The band will pick out the ten best submissions and will present them on their website, where visitors may check them out and vote for the best band, which then will be added to the billing that evening. Deadline to send your stuff is the 1st of August. Further info at www.agathodaimon.de/competition.htm
Kovenant To Enter Studio
Some news directly from Lex Icon of Kovenant: "We are going into the studio on the 20th of June. And people can also check it out at www.woodhouse.de since they are going to put up web cameras in the studio. For the first time, fans can watch what happens... Also, we are filming everything from the studio (with a professional crew) and such etc... We are putting together a DVD/VHS, with tour stuff, shows, videos, studio stuff etc Which will then hopefully be released by the beginning of the next year. Along with a remix album, featuring remixes from a lot of well known bands, and people. The video will be put together, much like the Metallica A year & a half in the life of... video."
Aeon Replace Malkki with Fjellström
Sweden's Aeon have replaced drummer Arttu Malkki with Nils Fjellström. According to a message posted on the band's web site, "the reason [for Arttu's departure] was lack of interest and will to play this kind of music. He thought it was more pain then pleasure to play, and that's not the way it's meant to be. We were not entirely surprised by his decision and we knew that he was thinking about quitting the band. At the same time we would like to welcome our new drummer Nils Fjellström, he joined us earlier this week. Arttu will still be supporting Aeon in some ways, and we really wish him all the luck with other projects that he is working on."
New The Haunted Album to be "killer"
The Haunted guitarist Anders Björler has issued the following statement confirming his return to the group:
"Well, ever since I left the band last autumn, I have been thinking a lot about my situation and my life in general. Basically, the studies meant nothing to me, and I realized that my main priority in life is music and always will be. Therefore, I asked the members of the band if I could join again. Luckily, they had not found a replacement, so everything was cool with them."
"I am really looking forward to the new recording in August — it's going to be a killer release from what I have heard so far. Forever metal, Anders" More...
Freternia Part With Drummer
Sweden's Freternia have replaced drummer Stefan Svantesson with Martin Tilander. According to the band, "playing in two bands finally became too much for Stefan and this is why he decided to leave Freternia."
Freternia's new album, entitled A Nightmare Story, was recently completed at Studio Underground and is scheduled for an October 7th release through Spain's Arise Records.
