Onirophagus Announces EP Re-Issue
Xtreem Music has reached an agreement with Spanish death/doom act Onirophagus for the imminent re-issue of the band's debut mini CD "Defiler of Hope," which was previously released on a limited run of 250 copies in early 2012.
Due to demand and the impending release of the band's new album (also through Xtreem Music), this EP will be available again to a wider audience. The label comments:
"Despite incorrect information around (i.e. www.Metal-Archives.com), 'Defiler of Hope' is not a full length album, but a 6-song EP with a lengthy duration of over 34 min, displaying a fucking heavy and solemn brand of dark death/doom for lovers of bands like Dying Bride, Asphyx, Paradise Lost, Incantation, Evoken, Autopsy, Ophis, and Immolation.
"Onirophagus added two new members since the recording of this EP namely Khrorum (bass) and Ghorth (guitars), completing a full live lineup and are near to finish the composition of debut full length album 'Prehuman," which will be recorded during May for a late-summer release."
The "Defiler of Hope" re-issue is due out through Xtreem Music this coming April 1st, 2013.

The album was produced and recorded at Mathlab Recording Studio (Italy) by Jonathan Mazzeo then mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (The Agonist) in Montreal. Release date is due during 2013, still to be scheduled. You can stream the album preview below."
A&R “Worm” stated: “Agharti are the typical band that every label dreams. We first met in Austria and they seemed to be so professional, humble and nice. Their songs were already well written and sounded great but they were also so eager to work with us on their music as they knew that they couldn’t be critical like us. For that reason me and Jonathan decided to invest in them and went to Zagreb to work in their practice room. We understood each other perfectly and they listened to everything we had to say, it has been great. We also cooperated closely on the choices to take for their final sound, image, cover, pictures and the result is under the light of the sun, just check it out. I am sure that you all will hear a lot about them since this is just the beginning of their career. Support this band, Agharti really deserve your attention.”
The band also commented: “We are happy to announce that Agharti has signed a deal with WormHoleDeath and that soon our full length album titled ‘CHANGE’ will be out worldwide. Working with WormHoleDeath was great – we clicked well from the very beginning and we know that together we will make great things. We’re very thankful for all the advice they gave us in the process of making the album and we can only hope for this cooperation to last because we have a lot more to give, share and create.” More...

In recent news, Deceased announced work on a new album for Hells Headbangers, entitled "Ghostly White." King Fowley had the following to say about the forthcoming album:
"This record will be a very produced musical journey that will capture the complete morbid side of Deceased. If we do what we are setting out to do, it will ooze of dark melody without forgetting the rough aggressive edges and catchiness in the songwriting that we've kept in our sound since day one. There will be a complete haunting aura throughout the record! A few songs will be lengthy tracks, including a 15-minute ride. Fitting interludes will lock in the actual tracks, and little jolts of madness will also rear their ugly heads from time to time. This is a musical adventure we've been waiting to take, and now's the time. Get out your woolen overcoats, the funeral is about to begin...." More...
Black Star Riders Reveals New Album Details
Black Star Riders - the new band featuring Thin Lizzy members Ricky Warwick, Damon Johnson, Scott Gorham, and Marco Mendoza together with drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (Alice Cooper, Megadeth) - has announced "All Hell Breaks Loose" as the title for the group's debut album on Nuclear Blast Entertainment, which will be released worldwide on the following dates:
May 21st – Japan
May 22nd - Sweden
May 24th – Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Norway
May 27th – U.K., France, BeNeLux, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Hungary
May 28th – U.S., Canada, Italy, South America
About the origin of the album title, Black Star Riders frontman Ricky Warwick states: “I was watching a documentary about World War II bombers and saw the name painted on the side of one of the aircraft. The name just resonated with me and it seem to encapsulate the turmoil that we, as a society, are currently experiencing. The past few years have been such a wild ride and now with the release of the album, it sounded like a bad-ass album title that summed up what Black Star Riders is all about.”
Produced & mixed by Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Rush), the track listing for "All Hell Breaks Loose" is:
01. All Hell Breaks Loose
02. Bound For Glory
03. Kingdom Of The Lost
04. Bloodshot
05. Kissin’ The Ground
06. Hey Judas
07. Hoodoo Voodoo
08. Valley Of The Stones

Debauchery Signs With Massacre
Massacre Records has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Debauchery:
"We're thrilled to announce the signing of Germany's death metal warmachine DEBAUCHERY! In post-apocalyptic times the Blood God starts the death metal Warmachine again.
"10 years of constant warfare have made Debauchery even more brutal and sinister. Battlefields all over the world, from Russia to China, all across Europe were left victorious. Most of the well-known festivals - Wacken, Summer Breeze, With Full Force - were destroyed. On the campaigns Debauchery followed bands like Napalm Death, Destruction, Six Feet Under and more.
"The Blood God and his Murder Squad strode beside icons like Slayer, Venom, Immortal and Saxon - always recognizable because of their gore-drenched shows, half-naked Blood Babes and mutilated body parts. More...

Stratovarius Posts "Halcyon Days" Music Video
Finnish symphonic metal masters Stratovarius posted a new music video for the track "Halcyon Days." The song appears on the band's latest LP "Nemesis," which is out now via earOne Music (EU) and Armoury Records in North America (see MetalUnderground.com's review at this location).
The footage for “Halcyon Days” was shot in Lithuania by Pekka Hara, and perfectly captures the song’s theme of finding one’s peace of mind. At once aggressive and sinister in its almost techno-influenced stormy moments, the chorus and bridge of “Halcyon Days” reflects serenity with its hopeful and powerful melody. Referring to a legend that there were seven days of peace in the midst of a stormy season, the song also features this quiet moment of passing through the eye of the storm.
The band explains: “It was a really nice experience working with Pekka and his team, and Lithuania was a pleasant surprise, very friendly people there and everything worked out great. This video sets the mood of the song perfectly. And the fact is: a band is nothing without the fans."
Prior to the video shoot, the band had launched a fan competition asking their supporters to send a picture of their most prized Stratovarius item. Over 100 items were sent, of which the band handpicked the 10 most original objects, which are now featured in the video. Over the course of the next weeks, Stratovarius will also launch a special fan item version of the video on their official Facebook page.

Russkaja Posts Debut Album Trailer
Vienna based act Russkaja, dubbed "Russian Turbo Polka Metal," is set to unleash its unique blend of polka, jazz, thrash and rock on a unsuspecting world on April 7, 2013 via Napalm Records. The band has posted the first teaser trailer for the new release "Energia!" (shown below).
Russkaja are very Russian, but always with a wink. That's what happens when a group of Russians, Ukrainians and Austrians decide to start a band in the world capital of classicism, Vienna. Made up of skilled and charismatic musicians with varied cultural backgrounds, Russkaja spread their postmodern version of Russian folklore -- a version that screams into your ear: "dance, dance, dance!"
Band founder Georgij A. Makazaria was born and raised in MoscowGeorgij's voice, mixed with a rock band setup, plus a violinist and an incredible brass section including an instrument called "Potete" (a unique hybrid of trumpet and trombone) already suggests the lunatic nature of Russkaja's sound. The Sojusrocket is launching! With Russkaja, Kasatchok dancing becomes a brawl: the brass section is a Kalashnikov and the stage outfits a mixture of Genghis Khan and the Red Army.....with compliments of the Tzar, of course. With two successful albums, 300 concerts on both sides of the Iron Curtain, the band has more than deserved the title of "Working Class Hero" including a golden badge of honour. The first five-year-plan has finally been fulfilled, some comrades would be proud indeed! The next one starts with "Energia!"!
