Fall Of The Idols Lineup Changes
The following was sent in by Fall of the Idols bassist, Vesa Karppinen:
"Vocalist Panu Paunonen has left Fall of the Idols. The departure happened in friendly terms and was because of geographical distance between him and rest of the band. Living in Helsinki, Mr Paunonen was unable to participate as much as needed in bands affairs and after a discussion it was agreed that the band will continue without him. Because of this regrettable but unavoidable event the vocals on Fall of the Idols' upcoming demo will be done by the band's drummer and former vocalist Jyrki Hakomäki. After the demo is released the search for a new vocalist will begin.
We wish Panu all the best in the future and thank him for being one year and 11 months in the band.
On behalf of Fall of the Idols

Watch Ozzy And Sharon's Press Conference
Reuters has video of Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon at their press conference on Tuesday to talk about the burglary at their English country home. "At the time when I had a go at the assailant, I acted purely on instinct. On hindsight, it could have been a lot worse, I could have been like George Harrison. I could have been badly injured." Megadeth Tour Manager Departs To Tend For Ill Son
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message at the group's official web site:
"I wanted to take this time to inform you of a change with our touring staff out here on the 'Killing Road', to give thanks, and to avoid any further misunderstandings.
"Our former tour manager, Claude 'Cowboy' Spencer, has left the tour due to personal problems with his son's health.
"Cowboy told us that he had found out his 16-year-old son had colon cancer. He was obviously affected by this terrible news, but tried his best to do his job and not let us know about this tragedy. Unfortunately, in the long run, he was overwhelmed, and he broke down telling my tour advisor and personal assistant, John Leeder, what had happened.
"We felt it best to let him go home to be with his wife and son while they proceed with this imminent surgery.
"We ask you to pray for him and his family and we wish him well, and I personally want to say, 'God Bless You Cowboy.' [Psalm 23 - Cowboy]
"Our new tour manager is Michael Nachtigal and his assistant is Suzy Nilson. If you have had any problems on this tour with guest tickets, passes, interviews, photo passes, etc., I ask you to please contact us.
"We will check with our agency, management, label, and other information sources to confirm your invitations and if you were 'unfortunately' overlooked; we keep track of all lists in triplicate."
Weiland Remains Suspicious Of The Music Industry
Entertainment Weekly's Karen Valby hung out with the guys from Velvet Revolver on the road while on tour, but had troubles getting much out of frontman Scott Weiland, who doesn't do sound checks, meet and greets, and stays up alone most nights watching movies until 5 a.m. Asking the former Stone Temple Pilots frontman "What did you do today" prompted him to respond, "I did the same thing I usually do, which is just about nothing. Sit in my room... masturbate occasionally..." But he later managed to open up, talking about his drug troubles and his suspicion of the music industry. "It's easy to get trapped in that mode of being a quote-unquote rock star," Weiland said. "The industry wants you to stay young, you're living this fast life, everything's accesible. The rock & roll industry is built on junkies just like me. Look at this band -- we're a band of junkies, thieves, and vagabonds. The only difference is, we've figured out a way to grab ahold of ourselves and say enough's enough."
Himsa Unleash Fury On Unsuspecting Nation
Here's an article posted on Seattle Weekly on Himsa:
On my signal, unleash hell." You know that one. Russell Crowe growls it in that Oscar-winning Australian-Roman accent before many a punk-ass infantryman gets run through in Gladiator. The catchphrase doubles as the voice mail of Himsa's black-hooded "whisperer/screamer" Johnny Pettibone, which poses a few intriguing Psych 101 questions: Is the frontman metaphorically trumpeting his own calling to lead his metalcore quintet to "war"? Is Pettibone an admirer of obscenely talented assholes, or perhaps one himself? Most curious of all: Why is the author of this feature pathologically obsessed with how the poor guy chooses to employ his answering service?
My answer is probably as simple as Pettibone's: I called him for an interview three weeks ago and wound up doing the loop-de-loop in Maximus voice-mail hell. Not like he didn't have a good excuse—Himsa's bus crapped out in South Carolina and weary-but-accommodating bassist Derek Harn was the only longhair not completely crashed out in a cheap motel. Actually, the conversational musical chairs were appropriate in more ways than one. Harn was the only man in the room who had been there from the beginning, co-founder of a beloved local outfit that has already seen 13 members in just six years.
