Sweden's Hypocrisy, the band led by acclaimed metal producer and Pain frontman Peter Tägtgren, have pulled out of the upcoming X-Mass Festivals European tour, set to kick off on Dec. 7 in London, U.K. No reason was given for their cancellation.

Superjoint Ritual and Deathride have reportedly been confirmed for the Fall 2003 installment of the "Blackest Of The Black" tour. The trek, which will be headlined by Danzig, is tentatively set to kick off in October/November. "I'd like to personally thank Glen Danzig [for the chance to be on this tour]," Deathride frontman Dez Fafara said. "We can't wait to tour with Danzig and Superjoint Ritual."
Portugal's Moonspell have set a Sept. 29 release date through Century Media Records for their new album, "The Antidote".

Staind are the latest band to cancel plans to visit Canada because of the SARS scare. The band were due to play a date in Toronto and also to do an instore signing session, but both were pulled because of health concerns.
Despite recent comments from Phil Anselmo suggesting that Down are finished, guitarist Kirk Windstein insists this isn’t the case. The Crowbar man claims that the band might now take a break, but fans can expect more from them in the future.
Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy has just started a record label called Ytsejam. This will release bootlegs of Dream Theater, featuring both live and studio material. The first three albums feature demos from Majesty (the band’s name prior to being called Dream Theater), a live show from Los Angeles in May 1998 (with guest appearances from Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson and Ray Alder of Fate’s Warning) and the making of ‘Scenes From A Memory’. .
Fireball Ministry are finalizing a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. This dealshould result in the band getting to tour Europe. The first record to be released will be a full length album titled "The Second Great Awakening," produced by Nick Raskulinecz, featuring original album art by comic legend, Dan Brereton.

Sound Riot Records have signed five new bands including Vicious (Melodic Death Metal from Sweden), Savallion Dawn (Heavy Metal from Germany), Hellveto (Orchestral Heathen/Black Metal from Poland), Maddog (Speed Power Metal from Austria), and VII Gates (Classic Heavy Metal from Sweden).
