Underoath, who embarks on the Rebirth Tour starting March 16th, has added instrumental post-rock outfit Caspian as opener for the upcoming six-week trek.
“One of our favorite things about headlining tours is that we get to bring along bands that we think are awesome and we want people to see,” explained Underoath keyboard player Chris Dudley. “Caspian is just a great band. They deserve the biggest audience possible and we think that everyone who comes to this tour is going to be blown away.”
Tickets for the upcoming tour, which already includes thirteen sold out shows, are available via this location.
The band announced a reunion in August, with guitar player Tim McTague saying, “We never thought we’d ever even want to play together again, much less be as excited to do so.”
Underoath will be playing beloved albums "They’re Only Chasing Safety" and "Define The Great Line" in their entirety, to which singer Spencer Chamberlain added, “We felt like now is a great time to do a tour and celebrate Define The Great Line turning ten.”
Underoath’s reunited line-up consists of Aaron Gillespie, Grant Brandell, Spencer Chamberlain, Chris Dudley, James Smith and Tim McTague. The band announced a "farewell" tour in late 2012, following a decade plus career and five full-length albums, with the "final" performance on Jan. 26, 2013 in St. Petersburg, Fla. After disbanding and playing a "final farewell" tour in 2013, Underoath is unsurprisingly back together and performing live again.
After recently confirming two reunion shows at the 2016 Self Help Festival and South By So What, the band now announces a full 2016 North American tour. Dubbed the Rebirth Tour, the band will be playing the "They’re Only Chasing Safety" and "Define The Great Line" albums in their entirety.
“I think the thought of Underoath playing again seemed really exciting,” explains Tim McTague of the band’s reunion. “We never thought we’d ever even want to play together again, much less be as excited to do so. It was a really cool feeling, and when discussing what this tour could be, it just felt right to play the two albums that our fans have held dearly for so many years. I think it’s going to be really special.”
“I hated the idea of Underoath being ‘over’ and I’m not sure what we are, but we are all friends again and that’s really the most important thing,” said Spencer Chamberlain. “That being said, we felt like now is a great time to do a tour and celebrate Define The Great Line turning ten.”

“Sunburnt” is one of two new songs recorded by Underoath with longtime producer Matt Goldman for release on the band’s career retrospective album, "Anthology 1999-2013," released back in November on Solid State Records.
A few short weeks week after shocking the music world by announcing plans to disband following a January 2013 farewell tour, metalcore act Underoath is now debuting one of the final new tracks, “Sunburnt,” today exclusively via Billboard. Check out the song right here.
“Sunburnt” is one of two new songs recorded by Underoath with longtime producer Matt Goldman for release on the band’s career retrospective album, "Anthology 1999-2013," available November 6th on Solid State Records. The following press release was issued:
"Together with final new track 'Unsound,' 'Sunburnt' is a worthy addition to the career-spanning collection, which includes fan favorites culled from the band’s 1999 debut, 'Act of Depression,' through the instant classics on 2010’s Ø (Disambiguation).
"Due to unexpectedly high demand and in the midst of several rapid sell-outs, Underoath’s previously announced Farewell Tour has been expanded to include additional dates, with several of the tour’s shows to be moved to higher capacity venues. Among the dates added are a January 13 stop at Worcester, MA’s The Palladium and an additional night at NYC’s Irving Theater. Changes of venue have taken place in Toronto, Detroit and St. Petersburg, allowing for the accommodation of additional fans seeking to watch the powerhouse live act one final time. Shows in 5 of the tour’s 10 cities have already sold-out.
"The group’s unanticipated decision to disband sent shockwaves through social media networks, with Underoath becoming a worldwide trending topic on Twitter as countless fans shared their thoughts on the influential band and the impact its music had on their lives." More...

"We're viewing this time as a celebration of the past decade or so as well as a last chance to see and hang out with fans, as well as our friends on the tour," said keyboardist Chris Dudley. "It's the end of an era and we'll be going out on a high note!" More...
Christian metalcore band Underoath is formally announcing plans to disband following the band's 15-year career. “It’s sad to say that we feel like it’s time to close this chapter, but we have never seen things more clearly,” says vocalist Spencer Chamberlain. “These have been the best years of my entire life, and I owe that to every single person who ever supported this band along the way. This wasn’t a quick decision by any means. It’s just time for us to move on.”
The Tampa, Florida-based group released seven albums in total – including the Gold-certified mid-2000s releases "They're Only Chasing Safety" and "Define the Great Line" – that collectively yielded Grammy and Dove Award nominations and total sales in excess of 1.3 million units.
Underoath will cap its run with the release of a career retrospective album, "Anthology 1999-2013" this coming November 6th on Solid State Records. With tracks culled from the 1999 debut, "Act of Depression," through 2010’s "Ø (Disambiguation)," the "Anthology 1999-2013" release is an essential collection of songs that celebrates the evolution of the band. The release also gives fans one last chance to hear newly recorded material in the form of new tracks “Sunburnt” and “Unsound,” recorded with longtime producer Matt Goldman. More...
Although it wasn't expected until December, the organizers of Australia's Soundwave Festival have made their second band announcement. Joining the 60 bands already announced are Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, Kittie, and 14 other (mostly non-metal) bands.
Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."
A third announcement in early December will add another five bands to the lineup, and Danzig is one of the confirmed possibilities. More...

"Be vigilant in truth and love," is not a lyric you’d expect to hear from a metal band, and especially not at a live show. You’d think it would have a way of stopping mosh pits, but that wasn’t the case when Times of Grace and Underoath came to Nashville, bringing along the bands Stray from the Path and Letlive. On the night of August 9th, the "Illuminatour" was to be a high-volume lesson in believing in yourself.
Amidst a record high-temperature summer, fans waited outside the venue well before the doors opened. More...

Stray From The Path, the alt-hardcore outfit out of Long Island, NY will embark on the “Illuminatour” on July 5th with Underoath, Times of Grace, and Letlive. Full details on the trek can be found after the jump.
Tom Williams (guitars) states: “Underoath's 'Illuminatour' starts very soon! We are very stoked to go out with bands that we love and respect very much. We just finished wrapping up our new record that will be out this summer on Sumerian Records. We are very proud of this record and can't wait for everyone to hear it. We feel that we took a lot of what we were doing on Make Your Own History and made it more raw, grittier and darker. The record also features a few guest appearances that will be revealed in due time.
"We will be playing two songs off the new record on the tour w/ Underoath, Times of Grace and Letlive. We are playing lots of cities we haven't been to in a long time, lots of familiar places and some brand new places. Stay tuned to our Facebook page in the coming weeks for new music, new studio updates and tour video blogs, as well as new merch designs. Stray From The Path has never been more excited about a tour before. See everyone on the road.” More...
Shadows Fall guitarist Matt Bachand will be the bassist for Times of Grace's upcoming U.S. tour with Underoath, the band's label, Roadrunner Records, announced.
Bachand, a longtime friend of TOG/Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Jesse Leach, takes over for bassist Daniel Struble, who has left the band to tend to "personal matters." Struble also plays in Five Pointe O. The rest of the band will be rounded out by Dutkiewicz' KsE guitar partner Joel Stroetzel and drummer Dan Gluszak.
“Losing Daniel was a blow to the Times of Grace camp, but we knew he had to do what was best for him and his family,” said Leach. “Having Matt show interest in joining the touring lineup could not have been a better fit! I have been a fan of Matt's voice and guitar work for many years. I am honored and very stoked to have him join us on tour to play bass and sing backup vocals. Matt is a great guy, and someone Adam, Joel and I have all known for years. Personality-wise and as a musician, it clicks so well. I am certain Matt will add a great vibe and bring his own style to the live show!”
Bachand said: “I am very excited to be a part of Times of Grace. Not only will it be great to get onstage with some old friends, but I am looking forward to something new musically as this role as bassist will be a very different experience from my role as guitarist of Shadows Fall.”
Dutkiewicz, who formed the band last year with Leach, former vocalist for KsE, said of Bachand joining the tour: “I’ll miss the crap out of Dan, but I’m so stoked to be bro-ing down with our longtime beer-swilling bassist bud Bachand. Come out to the shows and prepare to flex!”
