Dismember to release DVD in October
Long-running Swedish death metallers Dismember will issue a double-DVD on October 25 through Escapi. The first disc will contain the group's live performance from May 27, 2003 at Klubben in Stockholm, while the second disc will feature a 90-minute documentary/home video spanning the group's entire career. Dismember's new album, "Where Ironcrosses Grow", is due before the end of the year through Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records).
Ex-ToT Singer Bounces Back with Leaves' Eyes
Leaves' Eyes, the new band formed by ex-Theatre of Tragedy singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of the German band Atrocity (who are fronted by Liv's husband Alexander Krull), have posted a demo clip of the track "Norwegian Lovesong" at this location
The first album is to be released in late 2003/early 2004.
Akercocke Prepare to Release Earache Debut
Akercocke are preparing to release their debut Earache opus Choronzon in the US.
The album features cover art by revered UK rock photographer Fin Costello that can be viewed at the artists website, www.fincostello.co.uk. Costello was Akercocke's "first choice, no question", according to vocalist/guitarist Jason Mendonca. "We are all huge fans of Bauhaus and Rush... as well as Emperor and Suffocation", Mendonca proclaimed.

Decapitated Finish Recording new Album
Decapitated have completed the recording of their new album, tentatively titled The Negation, at Hertz Studio in Poland, with engineers Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawski.
Although all of the recording is completed, the band will not mix the album until they have completed a mammoth September tour of their homeland as part of a double-header with Vader.
Bassist Martin reports that the new material is “very very strong”, with a thick guitar sound. The new album is due out in February 2004 through Earache.

Deathwitch Guitarist Arrested
Deathwitch guitarist Slade Doom was recently arrested for undisclosed offenses. He remains incarcerated. More details will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, the band have announced details for their forthcoming new album, Violence Blasphemy Sodomy.

Anathema's Natural Disaster set for November
Anathema have set "A Natural Disaster" as the title for their seventh studio album, tentatively due in November through Music For Nations Records. The follow-up to 2001's "A Fine Day to Exit" was recorded and mixed at Parkgate Studios near Hastings, U.K. (except for two songs, which were mixed in Nottingham at Electric Mayhem) and was produced by the and engineered by Dan Turner, with cover artwork from Travis Smith.

Destruction Post New Video Online
German thrashers Destruction have posted their video for the track "Desecrators (Of The New Age)" at this location. "Desecrators (Of The New Age)" comes off the group's forthcoming CD, "Metal Discharge", due in Europe on September 22 and in the U.S. on October 21 through Nuclear Blast Records. A limited-edition version of "Metal Discharge" will include a bonus CD featuring demo material, cover tunes and a unreleased version of the Destruction classic "Bestial Invasion". The album marks the recording debut with the group of new drummer Marc Reign, who replaced Sven Vormann in 2001.

Suffocation Rejoins Relapse
Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of death metal legends Suffocation. The band will issue its as-yet-untitled new full length release in Spring 2004.
Suffocation, (Frank Mullen - vocals, Terrance Hobbs - guitar, Guy Marchais - guitar, Josh Barohn - bass, Mike Smith - drums) one of the most influential and emulated bands in the history of extreme music and the pioneers of the now-infamous 'New York death metal sound', return to the Relapse label after releasing the now classic albums Effigy Of The Forgotten (1991), Breeding The Spawn (1993), and Pierced From Within (1995) via Roadrunner Records. Suffocation's debut release -- 1991's seminal Human Waste --was the first CD release in the history of Relapse Records, and the band's signing comes on the eve of the label's thirteenth anniversary. I wish, but I'll be headed to the beach for a few days of much-needed vacation. Unfortunately I'll miss the Silent Bullet Theory, Brick Bath show I wanted to see at Jaxx... Dark Icon will hold down the fort and keep the news rolling in.
Jaxx Great White Station Fire Fund Show Is ON
The JAXX, Virginia gig for GREAT WHITE's Station Fire Fund tour is BACK ON. The venue says, "We've been able to work through the problems and the show is on. Everyone has been through so much this year, we strongly encourage all of the Jaxx Family and Great White fans to attend this show and to help support the Station Fund."
Lake Of Tears Goes On
After doing some rehearsals for the first time in almost four years, Lake of Tears members Mikael, Daniel and Johan has decided to go on with the band. "Rehearsing has been Very fun ...really rusty, but very fun and special", says Daniel. The band is also negotiating with a well known label about a possible contract.
