God Forbid Wrap Up Recording Of 'Gone Forever'
God Forbid have now officially chosen "Gone Forever" as the title to their upcoming new album which they recently wrapped recording with producer Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Nora). The album will feature 11 new tracks when it sees a release through Century Media early next year. In the meantime, band guitarist Doc Coyle recently commented on the effort, saying:
"We wrapped up tracking literally the day before we left for tour with Atreyu, Darkest Hour and Underoath. Everyone worked tirelessly putting in 12-15 hours days for pretty much the entire month of July. Needless to say, the hard work paid off and the unmixed tracks sound amazing. Everyone in the band stepped it up to perform incredibly under pressure. The MVP honors definitely goes to our producer, engineer and good friend Eric Rachel. He was unbelievable to work with, even with the limited time we had. Time was such a factor that we began utilizing two ProTools rigs to accommodate all of the things that needed to get done. My brother, Dallas, came through in the clutch by learning the program, doing drum edits and even engineering and producing virtually all of the vocals. All this, and he still had to record his own guitar parts and vocals.
With all of that said, Gone Forever is a huge step forward for us all. I have never been more proud of an album, and it hasn't even been mixed yet. For all of the longtime fans out there, please do not expect a sequel to the Determination album. It has all of the elements of our past records, but the songs are more well-written and well-arranged. It's extremely heavy, with great riffs and melodies, better lyrics and more intricate leads. We promise that you will not be disappointed. I can't wait for it, and I'm in the band." At present a new EP from the band entitled "Better Days" is being prepped for a fall release through Century Media. The outing will feature two new tracks from the upcoming album, along with previously unreleased studio material."
Hustler Adds Rock To Its Image
After 30 years of hardcore publication, HUSTLER Magazine is changing face. As of August 2003, HUSTLER added a new rock section, featuring the biggest names in music. The change came about when HUSTLER decided to take an edgier tone. For that reason HUSTLER brought in Nancy B. Sayle, a 20 year music industry veteran, as the new Music Editor. Utilizing her talents to help make the conversion an easy one. She will be talking with Rock-stars, past and present, giving you un-censored interviews. From subjects on their current projects, advice on how to get the babes and a plethora of groupie stories. HUSTLER also gave the covers a new-look. More sexy and subtle artwork for the covers, great editorial coverage on todays breaking news, and the pictorials that Larry Flynt made famous. HUSTLER's not just adult anymore.
The first "new look" dropped on the stands August 19th featuring Zakk Wylde. You can also get the chance to win a signed guitar from Tommy Lee if you subscribe to HUSTLER in the next two issues. BUT - the big issue will be out September 2003 - The cover features Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) and his gorgeous wife, actress/entrepreneur, Donn D'Errico (Baywatch) - she's wearing nothing but Nikki's Tattoo's and a smile. This is a first for HUSTLER to have celebrities on the cover. Watch-out for announcements on HUSTLERS events and parties that are being scheduled~
Below are the print schedules for the HUSTLER ROCKS section: More...
