Lago To Release "Tyranny" Album
Battleground Records has brought Phoenix, Arizona-based death metal collective Lago into its expanding label roster for the release of the band's upcoming debut album late in the 2014 Summer months. The label comments:
"Heavily influenced by the past, yet with eyes set firmly on the future, LAGO cites Morbid Angel, Decapitated, Aeon and Emperor as influences. The band was founded in January 2010 by guitarist and vocalist Cole Jacobsen, drummer Shawn Reiterman, and lead guitarist Manuel Dominguez.
"Upon completing the lineup with bassist and backing vocalist Garrett Thomas, the band released their first EP, Marianas, on Pale Horse Records to critical acclaim in November 2010. Changes to the lineup occurred throughout 2011 and early 2012, beginning with the departure of Manuel Dominguez.
"After a brief search for a replacement member, the band recruited Andrew Breshears of fellow Phoenix band Excessive Bleeding into the fold. Upon Shawn Reiterman leaving the group, LAGO briefly brought in Six Million Dead skinsman Helbert Trejo, and once he departed, the band welcomed Brian Miller, formerly of Deadspawn, into the family. Having since released a two-song demo in December 2012, and after welcoming Manuel Domminguez back into the fold in October of 2013, the band is set to release their debut full-length, entitled Tyranny, through Battleground Records. "We want to thank our families, friends, fans, bands we've shared stages with and our team behind the band for all of the support that you've given us since Day 1. It means the world to us.

Devil You Know Cancels Upcoming Dates
Devil You Know - which released debut album "The Beauty Of Destruction" back in April - has issued the following announcement about cancelling upcoming shows and confirming others:
"Some good news and some bad news from the Devil You Know camp. Bad news first. As you may or may not know, three members of Devil You know are not U.S. citizens: John is Australian and both Francesco and Roy are Italian. Howard and Ryan are American.
"Unfortunately, we have come up against some logistical problems in getting our work visas in time for all of our upcoming European dates. Sadly, we've been forced to cancel some of the shows Devil You Know is slated to play in late June/early July.
"The good news is that we will be able to perform at England's prestigious Sonisphere Festival on Friday, July 4th. We are also extremely excited to be performing on mainland Europe on Saturday, July 5th at Germany's With Full Force Festival. These are both hugely important shows for Devil You Know and we can't wait to play for our fans, both old and new there. We are currently rescheduling these cancelled European shows as well as mounting a full tour there for the near future.
"Devil You Know just completed our first full-fledged tour of the United States with Black Label Society, Down, and Butcher Babies. The shows were great and the audiences were fantastic. This is truly a new beginning for the five of us! See you soon!" More...

Abysmal Lord Announces Vinyl Release
Always on the lookout for the foulest, filthiest sounds in the metal underground, Hells Headbangers is proud to unleash the debut EP from Louisiana black/death barbarians Abysmal Lord.
"Storms of Unholy Black Mass" is set for international release this coming August 8th on 12" vinyl format. Hells Headbangers also comments:
"Ever-accurately titled, Storms of Unholy Black Mass is a pounding, pulsing torrent of bestial frequencies, vomit vox, and nuclear explosions of noise. Abysmal Lord, however, are not your regular identikit 'bestial/goat metal' band, as they summon storms of filth 'n' fury firmly rooted in classic grindcore; meanwhile, their lead-guitar detonations suggest an understanding of agitated music outside of metal. At nearly 26 minutes, Storms of Unholy Black Mass is the perfect length to do the maximum cranial/spiritual damage, and is a lethal introduction to the black hole that is Abysmal Lord."

Black Cobra Denied Entry To Canada
San Francisco's Black Cobra has unfortunately been denied access into the United States' northern neighboring country.
While amidst its current North American tour -- which was nearly entirely comprised of Canadian dates with Black Cobra co-headlining alongside Anciients and opening support from Black Wizard and Lo Pan -- the band was denied entry into the country.
Having invested thousands of dollars into merch for the tour, the band decided to tough it out and try again at a different access point, where again Black Cobra was denied, with no explanation, and after thorough inspections of vehicle and gear. This forced the band to return to California instead of performing in more than twenty cities across Canada.
Black Cobra today issued the following collective statement to their fans on the debacle: "As many of you already know, we were denied entry at the border of Canada. Because of the financial strain this has put on us, we were forced to cancel the remaining tour dates in the US as well. In the meantime, we will continue working on our forthcoming record and are looking into booking another tour in the US. We apologize to our fans and thank you for your continued support."
New U.S. Black Cobra tour actions will be confirmed immediately and announced in the coming days; no Canadian dates will be scheduled. Stay tuned for further transmissions.
