Thou Releases New EP
New Orleans doom band Thou has released it's six-song EP "The Archer and the Owle" on Blind Date records. Two of the songs are covers of Pygmy Lush tracks and another of the songs is a cover of Nirvana's "Something in the Way." Grime Streaming Debut EP
Grime is streaming it's entire recent six-song debut EP, which you can play below. The demo EP from this Italian band kicks off with an intro from Scorcese's "Cape Fear" and goes right into a half hour of sludge metal. This EP is on the U.K. label Mordgrimm, on which Grime will release a full-length by autumn of 2012. More...

Balkan hardcore groove metal act The Stupar Project has posted a new music video online for the track "Against All Odds," which is taken off the band's "Balkan Bastards" EP. Ocean Architecture Finishes Recording Album
Tennessee's Ocean Architecture has announced the band has completed the recording sessions for the upcoming new album "Animus." The album is currently in the mixing/mastering process, which is expected to come to a close in mid-January. Keyboardist Joe Dorsey commented, "We can't wait to show the world this music, I think this album is gonna turn out really great!"

Devolved Posts New Demo Song
Devolved has posted a new demo track online titled "Collateral Damage," which is set to appear on a forthcoming new album to see release in 2012. "Collateral Damage" also features Devolved's new vocalist Mark Haggblad.

Goreaphobia Performing One-Off Show Tonight
Philadelphia death metal behemoths Goreaphobia will trample their way through Brooklyn this weekend on a special year-end one off show at Saint Vitus in Greenpoint, Brooklyn tonight. Also on the bill will be Acheron, Funerus, and Mutant Supremacy. Details are as follows:

Sovereign Strength Reportedly Calling It Quits
Lambgoat.com is reporting that Sovereign Strength, which took part in the "Scream the Prayer" tour earlier this year, is calling it quits. Lambgoat stated:
Palmdale, Calfornia hardcore/metal band Sovereign Strength (Mediaskare Records) has called it quits after roughly five years together. Although nothing official has been issued thus far, when asked for an explanation, guitarist Jesse Gutierrez said "it's a lot of things. God is taking us in different directions all at once."

Iced Earth Issues Tour Recap
Iced Earth has checked in with the following recap of the band's European tour dates in support of "Dystopia" (reviewed here):
"A special THANK YOU to all of our fans in Europe who keep the torch burning for Iced Earth...who showed up at our shows (sometimes in spite of having to travel a great distance to be there)...and were so kind to us along the way.
"It was a fantastic tour, with last night's capacity crowd at the Pavilion in Cyprus the icing on the cake. What an amazing audience! It was the perfect way to end the European leg of the 2011-2012 World Dystopia Tour. Much love to all of our fans in Europe. We'll be back!"

Aborted Checks In From The Road
Aborted is currently wrapping up the "Decimation Of Europe" tour alongside Decapitated, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and more. The band has now checked in from the road with the following update:
"Last show of the tour tonight! can't wait to rip it up and finally go back to our homes, a huge thanks to all the fans and friends who came out to the tour and support all the bands, and all the new brothers we made in fleshgod apocalypse, decapitated, archspire and cyanide serenity!"
