Pangaea Signs With Metal Blade Records
Metal Blade Records welcomes Pangaea to its worldwide roster.
Hailing from Wisconsin, the five-piece progressive metal band has strived to guide heavy music in a new direction. Since the release of Pangaea's first EP, Unified (2014), the band has aimed to push boundaries and further navigate musical possibilities rather than settling into one "sound". Their debut full-length, Roots (2015), features unconventional harmony/structure alongside euphoric moments, conveying the balance between the ever-present experiential joys and dissolutions. Their sophomore album, VESPR, was released on September 20, 2019 to critical acclaim. Derived from exhausted emptiness, VESPR, takes a dark turn into the failures of humanity to process the digital age, and the immeasurable damage yet to be realized.
Pangaea's Metal Blade Records debut promises to be another stunning chapter in this up-and-coming band's history. The band plans to begin the writing process for their third studio album at the backend of 2020. Stay tuned for more news coming soon.
Pangaea comments: "We are honored to announce our signing with Metal Blade Records. We've all grown up listening to Metal Blade releases and are thrilled to now be a part of their phenomenal roster. The idea for the Bachelor parody announcement video came from us wanting to do something unique that highlighted our sense of humor and the fact that we don't take ourselves too seriously. We are looking forward to starting this new chapter in the band's story and we can't think of a better label to join forces with to share our musical vision with the world." More...
Korn Posts New Music Video Online
Korn have collaborated with Wargaming and free-to-play video game titan, World Of Tanks Blitz, for a special Halloween event, to reveal the music video for "Finally Free", taken from the band’s latest studio album, "The Nothing." The video sets the stage for World Of Tanks Blitz’s brand new Halloween mode: Burning Games.
The clip for "Finally Free" tells the story of Captain, a die-hard Korn fan (and a known character in the World Of Tanks Blitz universe) who’s doing all he can to get to Korn’s live performance at the Burning Games. The problem is a crew of wasteland raiders who do all they can to keep him from his goal. Will he make it to the front row in time to rock out with Korn? Check out the "Finally Free" music video below to find out. More...

Nachtblut Bassist Discusses New Album "Vanitas"
Gothic metal is a strange sub-genre. In one sense, there's a typical sound which make it easy to identify, but in another sense, it defies categorisation, with several bands being labelled with the tag, despite not sounding alike. Whatever the case, it's a varied term which houses some of metal's best (and darkest) bands. One such group who are still going strong after fifteen years of blackness is Nachtblut, the Osnabrück based band which this month released their sixth album, "Vanitas."
"Vanitas" is sure to delight long time fans of the band, yet it also offers new experiences and surprises, perfect for listeners new and old. To find out more about the album, as well as the striking music videos "Das Puppenhaus" and "Leierkinder," the band's outlook on socially distanced show and much more, I caught up with bassist Ablaz, who joined prior to recording the fifth album, "Apostasie." You can listen to the interview in full below. More...
