Audioslave Confirmed For Download Festival
Audioslave are the latest band confirmed for the Download Festival, which happens at Donington on May 31 and June 1. Iron Maiden and Limp Bizkit are to headline the two-day festival. Also confirmed for the bill are Marilyn Manson and Deftones, with further acts to be announced soon. Tickets for the event, which is to be called the Download Festival, are on sale now, priced at £70 (weekend), £39.50 (day), with camping available for £12.50.
System Of A KCUF
System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian has written and recorded with KCUF, a band featuring his friend Crazy White Sean. Currently unsigned, the project also includes a guest appearance from Munky of Korn. And Slipknot’s Sid Wilson might well be involved on the final album.
Doro Goes Orchestral
Doro is the latest metaller to announce plans to work with an orchestra. She’ll be appearing on April 29 at a special show in Bochum, Germany. Dubbed ‘Ersten Metal Classic Night’, the bill is also to feature Axel Rudi Pell among others, plus an as yet unnamed orchestra.
France's Nightmare Recording
France's heavy metal fame Nightmare, are hard at work on the recordings of their new album, and will enter once again Soundsuite studio next Monday to join forces with Norwegian producer Terje Refsnes (Tristania, Sirenia...). The album will be mastered at Finnvox by Mika Jussila ( Nightwish, Stratovarius, Children Of Bodom... ) and is due to be released worldwide in September through Napalm Records / SPV.
The follow-up to 2001's highly acclaimed Cosmovision, is a concept-album of 12 songs featuring 4 chapters. The album is entitled Silent Room and according to vocalist / frontman, Jo Amore. " The new material is heavier and darker with a different approach when it comes to vocals and guitars, compared to Cosmovision... "

Great White Postpone Tour
Great White have announced that they have no plans right now to resume touring, following the tragedy last Thursday at The Station in Providence, Rhode Island, when 97 people – including band guitarist Ty Longley – died. There had been reports that the LA veterans were going to bring in a new guitarist and go back on the road later this week. Understandably, Great White are devastated by the events at The Station.
Rob Zombie Reloads For Matrix II
Rob Zombie is currently working with Nine Inch Nails man Charlie Clouser and producer Scott Humphreys on a song called ‘Reload (Time To Die)’. This is expected to be included on the soundtrack album for ‘The Matrix: Reload’ movie.

A Perfect Circle of Nine Inch Nails
A Perfect Circle have moved quickly to fill the gap left by the departure of guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen to join Queens Of The Stone Age. They’ve brought in former Nine Inch Nails man Danny Lohner. The band have also replaced bassist Paz Lenchantin with former Marilyn Manson bassist Twiggy Ramirez.
