That’s right. The search is over. All the rumors and speculation can finally be put to bed. Robert Trujillo is the long-awaited fourth member of Metallica.
Earlier today, on the official Metallica fan club site, the band stated, “We've taken a long time to find the right bass player for us. Obviously being a good player is important (!!), but it was also very important that whomever we found would fit in as a family member, a brother with a huge vibe. We wanted a fourth band member, not just a new bass player.
“We’ve all known, and have been huge fans of Rob since the early '90s when he was a part of the legendary hardcore/metal band Suicidal Tendencies. We got to know him when we played together with 'Suicidal' in Europe in ‘93, and again during the during the '94' "summer shit" tour, when they joined forces with us.” More...
You can now download the new CAGE song "Kill The Devil" from their upcoming 3rd cd "Darker than Black".
Apocalyptica have posted the video clip for "Somewhere Around Nothing" on their website. Surprisingly, the song will not be put out as a single.
Regarding the new album, Reflections, the cello viruoses had some pretty exciting chart entries last week in Europe. The album entered the German charts at #15, #18 in Finland, #26 in Austria, #44 in Switzerland and #35 in the Czech Republic.
Tidfall have booked studio time at Akkerhaugen lydstudio for recording of the new album at the end of March. This will be the culimination of almost a year of work writing the new material. The band did a pre-production and focussed on new routines during the songwriting in order to surprise all of you. The homepage www.tidfall.net will feature a studio report with regular updates and further details on the songs as well "one-month-before-studio" report.
The new album of Wolverine is well under way. The title of the album is "The Cold Light Of Monday" and will be released later this year.
Ephel Duath have finished work on their new, the second so far, studio album. The album, which is titled "The Painter's Palette" will see the light of day on May through Elitist Records.
Examination Of The... has finalized most of their upcoming tour dates, which begin on March 11th in South Dakota. The group will be out supporting their new full-length, "The Whitest Of Elephants," which will be out in a few weeks on Hawthorne Street Records. Dutch death metallers Sinister have announced the details of their upcoming Mexican and Colombian shows, set to take place next month.

Swedish black metallers Mörg Gryning have entered Dug-Out studios in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Stuck Mojo, Strapping Young Lad) to record their fourth full-length album, due on June 6 through No Fashion Records. According to the group, "The new material is heavier, more progressive and very varied, both lighter and darker and also more psychadelic." Mörg Gryning's last album, "Maelstrom Chaos", was released in 2001.
Swedish "black/death/thrash" metal act Satanic Slaughter have parted ways with bassist Fillip "Fille" Carlsson and have replaced him with Simon Axenrot, brother of drummer Martin.

Lamb of God finished mastering their new album, "As The Palaces Burn" (check out cover artwork here), at Marcessun Studios in Los Angeles for a May 6 release through Prosthetic Records. The much-anticipated follow-up to 2000's "New American Gospel" was recorded at Richmond, Virginia's Montana studios with producer Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad). In other news, the band will team up with Chimaira, Eighteen Visions and Atreyu for a U.S. tour beginning n April 15. Exact dates and venues are expected to be announced soon.
A brand new Darkest Hour track, "The Sadist Nation", featuring a guest appearance by former At the Gates / The Crown frontman Tomas Lindberg, has been posted online at this location. "The Sadist Nation" comes off the group's forthcoming album, "The Cult Of The Sadist Nation", due in May through Victory Records. The CD includes additional guest appearances from Anders Björler (At The Gates, The Haunted), Peter Wichers (Soilwork) and Marcus Sunesson (The Crown).

E-Force, the Montreal-based band featuring former Voivod bassist/vocalist Eric Forrest, guitarist Bryan Donahue (formerly of Homicide) and guitarist/drum programmer Dan Lauzon (formerly of Entropy), have reportedly inked a deal with French label Season Of Mist Records (Mayhem, Necrophagia, Agressor, Carpathian Forest). The group's debut album is expected to surface later in the year. In related news, the upcoming Project: Failing Flesh CD, "A Beautiful Sickness", to which Forrest has contributed lead vocals, has been recorded and is currently being mixed by Kevin 131 (While Heaven Wept, Garden of Shadows, Brave, Dysrhythmia) at Assembly Line Studios in Virginia. A limited edition version will be out in early spring with a national release expected in summer through a yet-to-be-determined label.

Sweden's Dimension Zero — featuring IN Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad (on bass), ex-In Flames axeman Glenn Ljungström, ex-Marduk vocalist Jocke Göthberg, Luciferion/Diabolique drummer Hasse Nilsson, and Pathos guitarist Daniel Antonsson — have commenced the mixing process for their sophomore full-length album, "This is Hell", tentatively due in September/October through Regain Records. The CD — the band's first to feature Antonsson — is being recorded at Phlat Planet studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer/In Flames frontman Anders Fridén.

Finnish atmospheric doom metallers Silentium have replaced singer Tiina Lehvonen with Maija Turunen. Both Tiina and Maija can be heard on the group's upcoming third full-length CD, "Harmátia de Prudence", due in late spring/early summer release through Spikefarm Records. The album, which was recorded at Sundicoop Studio in Savonlinna, Finland, was produced by Nightwish mainman Tuomas Holopainen and features a guest appearance by former Lullacry and current Soulgrind frontwoman Tanja Kemppainen.
Finnish melodic metal band Altaria, featuring Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen, have set an April 28 European release date through AOR Heaven sub-label Metal Heaven Records for their debut album, "Invitation".
