In 2002, Aaron Lewis, lead singer of STAIND, signed the first band, LO-PRO, to his new 413 Records imprint in conjunction with Geffen Records President Jordan Schur. Lo-Pro released their self-titled debut set on 413/Geffen Records in August of 2003 and spent the remainder of the year touring the U.S. with Staind. Now the guys in Lo-Pro have a single climbing up the radio charts and a slot on the upcoming THREE DAYS GRACE tour of the U.S.
Lo-Pro will join Three Days Grace on tour beginning March 10th in Boston, Massachusetts at Axis and the tour will run through the end of April (see below for complete itinerary). Lo-Pro’s first single, “Sunday,” is off to an amazing start at the Rock Radio formats. Just three weeks after its add date, “Sunday” has already reached #30 on the Active Rock chart, #29 on the Mainstream Rock chart and #32 at the Modern Rock chart and climbing.
The Southern California-based band was founded by former Ultraspank members Peter Murray (vocals) and Neil Godfrey (guitar). The two are joined by drummer Tommy Stewart (Godsmack), bassist Jon Fahnestock (Snot, Amen) and guitarist Pete Ricci. Lo-Pro’s debut was recorded in Los Angeles at NRG studio with producer Don Gilmore (Linkin Park) at the board. Lo-Pro was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge

Billboard.com is reporting that SLAYER, JUDAS PRIEST and SLIPKNOT will join OZZY OSBOURNE as the mainstage acts on this year's Ozzfest, set to begin in early July. Details of the tour will be announced next week in Los Angeles Other bands said to be "all-but-confirmed" are: Hatebreed, Superjoint Ritual and Dimmu Borgir.

In Flames, Lacuna Coil, Fear Factory, Black Label Society, and Unearth.The official press-release for bands and dates will be announced Thursday, February 19th.
Tonight Richard Christy (Death, Control Denied, Iced Earth, Burning Inside) confirmed his appearance on the Within The Mind project. Richard will play on a total of 4 tracks which originate on the Human and Individual Thought Patterns albums. He will spend the next week or so refreshing his memory and sharpening his chops on those songs and then will be joined by James Murphy at his Orlando warehouse the following weekend for some intense rehearsals after which they'll enter a local Orlando studio (ARS is the most likely choice) and lay down his tracks. Richard's tracks will be the first to be recorded for the project. Soon after, James will begin rehearsals with Dave Culross and he will record the majority of the remaining drum tracks.
Also noteworthy: at last night's Opeth concert in Tampa drummer Martin Lopez expressed his interest in playing at least one track on the Within The Mind project.
HAving just started their tour with Six Feet under, Full Blown Chaos has been confirmed as one of the support bands on the upcoming Chimaira tour in March.

Fugitive Records recording artists Cage have been forced to cancel their appearance at the 2004 Piorno Rock festival, held on February 28 in Atarfe, Granada, Spain.
The band called off their appearance at the festival due to the recent disclosure that a family member has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Despite the Piorno Rock cancellation, Cage are still expected to play at the Epica festival in Mexico City on Saturday, February 14 as special guests of Kamelot. The festival will also feature the Mexican power metal band Calvaria as the local opener. In addition, the festival has been moved from the Foro Latino to the Circo Volador venue. Swedish melodic metallers Nostradameus have set "Hellbound" as the title of their fourth album, due in May through Germany's AFM Records.
The follow-up to 2003's "The Third Prophecy" was recorded at Roasting House studios in Malmö, Sweden and contains "a lot of new elements," according to guitarist Jake Fredén. "[The CD is] more heavy, more angry, [with] more melodies that stick, better lyrics, [and a] brilliant sound which will lift this album above our previous ones. . . The band has never been so stable, never so tight playing and never so much in harmony with each other."
Vinnie Paul confirmed DAMAGEPLAN's U.S. tour plans with Hatebreed and Drowning Pool. Dates are yet to be announced. DAMAGEPLAN's debut album, 'New Found Power' , is in-stores NOW. This album features 14 blistering tracks including 'Save Me' , 'Breathing New Life' and 'New Found Power'.

Lamour, a venue in Brooklyn, NY, has closed. After years of promoting local metal bands by having them open for larger acts, such as The Gathering, Shadows Fall, Hypocrisy, Nevermore, Nightwish, etc. This venue primarily booked metal bands and nothing mainstream. This was the hot spot for metal in the area. Local bands now have to either goto a small VFW like venue, or journey much further to be heard. It was in a good location and pretty popular. More...
LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington has once again been hospitalised for "severe bronchitis and laryngitis". The band had to cancel yesterday's show in Inglewood, California as a result of Bennington's illness.
An official statement from the band reads as follows:
"We deeply regret that the show at the Great Western Forum in Inglewood has been postponed. Chester is ill with bronchitis and acute laryngitis and has been advised not to perform."
There is no news as of yet whether other shows will be affected or how long Chester is advised for recovery.
According to Katt.com, METALLICA will be playing in Oklahoma City, OK at the Ford Center on May 14th.

Just like for the SLAYER version of the tour, SWORN ENEMY will be appearing on a few (still TBA) dates of the upcoming SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY, CHIMAIRA version of the Jagermeister tour.
MOTÖRHEAD are scheduled to go into the studio this week with producer Bob Kulick to record a track for an upcoming METALLICA tribute album. The band will be recording "Whiplash" for inclusion on the collection, due later in the year through Cleopatra Records. Other groups believed to be contributing to the CD include DARK ANGEL ("Creeping Death"), LIFE AFTER DEATH ("Eye Of The Beholder") and the as-yet-unnamed collaboration between ex-PITCHSHIFTER/current DOHENY frontman J.S. Clayden and former MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader ("St. Anger"). More information will be made available soon.
In other MOTÖRHEAD-related news, the group have assembled in Los Angeles to write/record their new studio offering. The album is reportedly shaping up well and a June release date is anticipated.
HATEBREED have been confirmed for the second installment of the "Headbanger's Ball Tour" starting in late March. More details will be made available soon. HATEBREED will also be co-headlining the 11th edition of With Full Force festival, a three-day event set to be held July 2-4 at airport Roitzschjora, Löbnitz near Leipzig, Germany.
HATEBREED's most recent album, "The Rise of Brutality", has sold 111,599 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Its predecessor, 2002's "Perseverance", has shifted 232,034 units so far.
ASESINO, the death metal/grindcore project featuring ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares and STATIC-X bassist Tony Campos (on bass/vocals), have launched their official web site at this location. The group's current lineup is completed by SADISTIC INTENT drummer Emilio Marquez
Marduk have just announced their new vocalist. His name is Mortuus and he replaces the former vocalist Legion who was forced to leave late last year. A photo of Mortuus can be found here
On related news, because of problems with the printer the release of their much-anticipated DVD 'Funeral Marches And Warsongs' has been delayed and will now be released in Europe at the end of February. U.S. release is due few weeks later through The End Records and in South America through Hellion Records.
Former DIMMU BORGIR drummer Nick Barker has spoken exclusively to Blabbermouth about his surprising departure from the group.
In an official statement announcing Barker's departure, DIMMU BORGIR indicated that "Nicholas has been removed" from the band's lineup and advised their fans to not "waste [their] time speculating why," adding that "we have already moved on."
