WALLS OF JERICHO vocalist Candace Kucsulain received a broken nose from an exuberant audience member while playing in Memphis last week. After stirring up a rabid pit with their thick metallic riffage and savage hardcore breakdowns, Candace was the unintended recipient of a spinning fist. The formidable frontwoman, who was out in front of the monitors took the blow in stride and finished four more songs before the band ended their set. Candace suffered from her nose being knocked out of alignment, severe facial swelling and broken blood vessels around the eyes.
As stern as her music, Candace continued the tour and will get her nose realigned during a rare day off. On the same day, she will even appear for a photo shoot with band members for the cover of Modern Fix magazine. WALLS OF JERICHO are on tour to support their brand-new album "All Hail The Dead". The group was actually on a solo date in-between shows with FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES when the accident happened. Look for the group when they begin their next tour with GOD FORBID and BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED this week

Launch.com is streaming Korn's new video 'Y'all Want A Single' and it's a pretty good bet you won't be seeing it on MTV/MTV2. Watch it here.
UPDATE: Korn are currently streaming the "dirty" version of their new video "Y'all Want A Single" at their official web site. Check it out here. "It's gonna cause a big stir in the music business, period, because it's basically a video about us destroying a record store, and all this different verbiage comes up talking about how really corrupt the music industry is," frontman Jonathan Davis told MTV.com about the clip. "We're just asking for it with this video, and it's pretty amazing. We're really excited about it."
A brand-new TORCHBEARER track, titled "Sown Are The Seeds Of Death", can be downloaded in MP3 format.
"Sown Are The Seeds Of Death" comes off the Swedish death/thrash metal group's debut album, "Yersinia Pestis", due on March 22 through Metal Blade Records.
The first album to be released under the recently announced partnership between Cold Records from Sweden and Metal Blade Records, "Yersinia Pestis" is being described in an official press release as "the mean bastard son of DARK FUNERAL, DEICIDE and HYPOCRISY, the perfect link between death and black metal with hints of thrash every now and then."
The CD was recorded at Black Lounge Studios in Sweden with producer Jonas Kjellgren (CARNAL FORGE, CENTINEX). The artwork was handled by Pär Johansson.
Former TESTAMENT/DEATH guitarist James Murphy has issued the following update regarding his upcoming DEATH tribute project, "Within The Mind - In Homage To The Musical Legacy Of Chuck Schuldiner" (web site), tentatively due in June through Holland's Mascot Records:
"This past Saturday [Feb. 21] I traveled to Orlando to Richard Christy's [ICED EARTH, ex-DEATH, CONTROL DENIED] warehouse where he and I practiced the songs which he will be playing on for the 'Within The Mind' project. on the first passes through the songs we nailed them... it sounded more like we had been playing together for months rather than minutes. Richard is a very disciplined and talented musician and clearly those traits, along with his love for the music of DEATH and Chuck Schuldiner, have pushed him to put a good amount of his free time into practicing for the upcoming session. The results will be awesome, I'm more than certain.More...
ADRIFT, the hard rock side project of CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Jack Owen, have completed work on their debut EP at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida (GOD FORBID, MONSTROSITY, TRIVIUM) with CAPHARNAUM leader Jason Suecof at the board. Co-produced by Suecof and ADRIFT, the EP "showcases ADRIFT's unique sound and approach to accessible songwriting," according to a posting on the band's web site. Mastering took place at world-renowned Morrisound Studios with Jim Morris finalizing the signature ADRIFT sound. Three songs from the EP — "Empty Dreams", "Broken Mirror" and "Fear of Day" — are currently available for streaming or for download via www.adrift.cc.
ADRIFT, whose lineup is completed by ex-EPITAPH/RESURRECTION drummer Kevin Astl, Mark Elm on vocals, Analia Pizzaro on guitar, and Michael Capuano on bass guitar, will be filming a video for the song "Empty Dreams" in the next couple of weeks and will be posting it to their web site by April 1.
Commented Astl, "I think the ADRIFT songs are going to catch a lot of people by surprise. If you're looking for a rehash of 'Hammer Smashed Face', you won't find it. If, however, you are looking for well-written, aggressive songs you can identify with, along with a heavy, grooving sound unlike any mainstream band, ADRIFT may offer you what you are looking for — a pleasurably introspective listening experience. Hell, it just rocks, and we have a blast playing it! Check it out and make your own opinion."
