National Release of Five Foot Thick's 'Circles'

Spokane Washington’s FIVE FOOT THICK will finally see a national release of their independent CD entitled Circles. The CD will hit stores on March 2, 2004 through Eclipse Records (the mighty indie best known for launching Mushroomhead to success). A monstrous blend of modern rock and metal, Circles features 13 songs which have never before been available to the public.

Conquest Preparing Spring Tour, Updates

Conquest have been back in the studio working on their next CD release (title yet to be determined) and hope to have this out in late Spring. The new CD was recorded in Angelfish Studios in Union, MO and some tracking done at Red Light Studios.

Conquest is lining up their late winter/early Spring tour and the dates are piling in (to be announced soon). Conquest has also recently joined the ranks of bands such as Chimaira, Hemlock, Ill Nino, Pantera, Slayer and more as an official Jagermeister band.

You can catch Conquest LIVE, on Friday, February 13th, on "Today in St. Louis" on Fox's Channel 2 in St. Louis between 8:30am and 9:00am CST. They'll be discussing the Midwest Monsters of Metal Showcase II w/Scream Productions. You can also tune into 105.7 The Point when Cornbread interviews Conquest during the local show at 9pm CST on Sunday, February 15th, 2004.

New Downset Song Online, Details On Upcoming Cd

A new four song sampler from Downset.'s forthcoming new album "Universal" has been posted online, you can check it out here. "Universal" will see a release through Hawino Records on March 30th. More Bands Confirmed For NJ March Metal Meltdown

ENTOMBED, FOZZY, ANAL BLAST, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD among locals have been confirmed for the New Jersey March Metal Meltdown, taking place March 12th and 13th at the Cricket Club in Irvington, NJ. Also confirmed are the "NWOBHM ALLSTARS" featuring AL ATKINS (JUDAS PRIEST), JESS COX (TYGERS OF PAN TANG) and, DENNIS STRATTON (IRON MAIDEN, PRAYING MANTIS).

Obituary Confirmed For Florida MetalFest

The reunion of OBITUARY is now confirmed on the Metalfest.com website for the 1st annual Sun N' Steel Florida Metalfest, held March 6th and 7th at Pinellas Expo Center in Tampa, Florida. Other bands added are THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ENTOMBED, ANAL BLAST, 3 INCHED OF BLOOD and other locals. Max Cavalera "Misses Sepultura"

SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera recently spoke to MetalUK.com about the group's upcoming CD, "Prophecy", and the recent personnel shuffles that have plagued the band, including the guest appearance on the album of former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson. Asked what he feels the influx of fresh new people has brought to the record, Max said,

"It brought more fire to the whole album. It's one thing playing with people you know, you know exactly what you're going to get, and [another] playing with somebody that comes fresh and new, full of new ideas. [A] perfect example would be [former ILL NINO guitarist] Marc Rizzo, [who] has made the guitars on this album…the first time I've had guitars like this since SEPULTURA days, and I think that was a missing link in my music for a long time. Many people, including myself, always missed that killer rhythm and lead type chemistry I had in SEPULTURA, and I could never get it right in SOULFLY, and it was always a struggle. Marc comes in and makes this album completely much more the way it's supposed to be."

Rammstein News Update

According to Herzeleid, one of the biggest RAMMSTEIN news sources out there, a fan recently won a contest in the Rammstein Fanarea for a telephone call. She received a call from Emu (RAMMSTEIN's manager) and posted about it online afterwards.

From the call she learned that a late August or early September release is planned for the album, with a single in May. A tour should follow in Autumn, although it will only be in Europe with one show per country aside from two in Germany. They want to finish the tour by Christmas time. It was also said that the the new album will have some new elements and that two songs will be totally different from what you have heard before.
