Saros Completes New Album, Posts MP3 Online
Bay Area metal act SAROS (featuring members of AMBER ASYLUM, BASTARD NOISE, and WEAKLING) has completed work on their new album,"Acrid Plains."
Finding themselves within that circle that comprises the artistic surge of the underground Bay Area metal scene alongside like-minded acts as LUDICRA, HAMMERS OF MISFORTUNE, ASUNDER, GRAYCEON, AMBER ASYLUM, and WORM OUROBOROS, Saros present a unique front with their brand of epic blackened progressive chamber-laced metal.
Tastefully blending a collective of influences from several genres such as classic Bay Area metal, black metal, progressive metal, folk, and neo-classical chamber music, "Acrid Plains," produced by the legendary Billy Anderson, embraces the characteristics evident in Saros' musical peers while combining characteristics reminiscent from such acts as METALLICA ("And Justice For All" era), DEATH ("Symbolic" era), the folk-sensibilities of AGALLOCH and DEATH IN JUNE, and the gothic neo-classicism of the aforementioned Amber Asylum (which in turn is Saros singer Leila Rauf’s other full-time band, as well as Amber Asylum mastermind Kris Force also makes a guest cameo appearance on "Acrid Plains" likewise).
The tracklisting for "Acrid Plains" is as follows:
1. Acrid Plains
2. As The Tyrant Falls Ill
3. Coriolis
4. As The Tyrant Falls Ill (Reprise)
5. Devouring Conscience

Ben Aguilar (guitars)
Tim Scammell (bass)
Blood Eagle (drums)

IWrestledABearOnce Begins Recording New Album
Century Media artists IWrestledABearOnce has begun recording their full length debut album in the house of famed producer Ross Robinson. The band is working with Ryan Boesch and expect to release the album by next spring. Comments the band:
“Ryan Boesch is a son of a bitch and a dirty, godless savage... but on the bright side, we are writing and recording on the beach at Ross Robinson's house and drinking all of Norma Jean's leftover energy drinks. Anyway, Ryan is as insane as us and since his discography includes 2Pac, Andrew WK, Tomahawk, and Sheryl Crow, we know we are in good hands. We will be updating our MySpace with all kinds of stupid news, so keep in touch on there for all of the latest! Our drummer has horrific gas.”

Paul Stanley Hoping To Do A New KISS Album
KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently did an interview with Classic Rock in which he talked about the possibility of a brand new KISS album which would be the first studio album of all new KISS material since 1998's "Psycho Circus." You can view some excerpts of the interview below:
What does the future hold for KISS?
"It looks like we’ll be touring Europe as well as the States next year. You’ll be getting more of what you saw at the Download festival this past summer – the KISS Alive! vibe amped up to the max. There might even be a new KISS album at some point. I have been ambivalent to the idea in the past but I’m much more open to it now."
Why is that?
"Well, I thought that I'd be content for KISS to remain a heritage act, just playing our greatest hits – 'Detroit Rock City' and all that. But the new KISS line-up with Tommy Thayer (guitar) and Eric Singer (drums) is proving to be so good, so strong in spirit, it would interesting to see how we perform in the studio. I must stress that no recording time has been booked at this point. But it if we were to go into the studio, the intention would be to make a KISS album in the style of our 1970s recordings. A classic KISS album, unmistakably."

To be on a roster along side of bands like Suicide Silence, God Forbid, In This Moment, Terror and Earth Crisis (just to name a few) is a real honor. We feel as though Century Media Records is the best home for We Were Gentlemen, and we couldn't be happier with the dedication, commitment, and professionalism Ray Harkins and everyone else over at Century Media has shown us thus far. Tom Fischer Posts Another Triptykon Update
Former Celtic Frost/current Triptykon mainman Tom Fischer has posted the following message online:
"I am not exaggerating when stating that words are simply inadequate to express sufficient gratitude for the warm and very thoughtful treatment extended to Triptykon bassist Vanja Slajh and I by Bohren und der Club of Gore last Saturday. Bohren added their show in Lucerne, Switzerland, relatively late to their tour to promote their new Dolores album. But it was a perfect and long-awaited chance for me to meet once again with Christoph, Thorsten, Robin, and, of course, Morten, with whom I have been friends for years. It has been a while, and we all were looking forward very much to seeing each other again.
"In spite of having to take care of the usual countless affairs associated with playing a concert abroad, Bohren and their amazing agent Susanne Herrndorf went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It was a truly memorable evening of reflective conversations and black humor among kindred spirits. Needless to say, the concert was exceptional. More...

Soilwork Vocalist Bjorn "Speed" Strid Checks In
Soilwork vocalist Bjorn "Speed" Strid has posted the following update online:
"As you might know, we're currently out on tour in Europe. I'm writing to you from Glasgow, Scotland. The rain has been just as unstoppable as the beer drinking on the tourbus, but today the sun is actually shining and everybody is in a great mood!
"We're now ten days into this European trek and things are going smoothly. Peter (Wichers) and Sylvain (Coudret) are tearing it up; I'm telling you people, they're a murderous guitar duo! Just you wait and see! Crowds have been great as well, noisy and roudy, just the way we like it! Luckily, my twisted flipper is back on track after falling into the drumkit while doing some of that old school pogo dancing on stage... However, my stage shirt is pink after a head-shaving accident right before the Birmingham show last night...
"Anyways, we're doing some tracks that we haven't played live in a very long time, and even some tracks that we've never played at all like 'Black Star Deceiver'. I gotta say it's working out really good! The only thing missing is DEVIN TOWNSEND doing his trade off vocals with me. I guess I'll just have to fly him to Europe... You there Devin? More...
