Angra Shares "Gods Of The World" Video

Angra are only a few weeks from releasing their brand new album but also to kick off its supporting tour dates: "Cycles Of Pain" will see the light of day on November 3, 2023 through Atomic Fire Records, new shows keep being announced, and today, the Brazilian progressive power metal act raise the level of excitement once again by revealing yet another track of the opus. After wandering the worlds of physicality ("Ride Into The Storm") and mentality ("Tide Of Changes"), third digital single "Gods Of The World" peers towards lyrical fields about people that pretend to be extra-human while musically, Angra take listeners on an epic, symphonic adventure without lacking their complex and virtuosic trademark elements, making it a must for fans of various periods of the band's career. The track's accompanying music video was crafted by a creative team led by Leo Liberti once again and clarifies the bitter truth about our two-class society that causes so many cruelties unfortunately happening around the globe every day, every minute, every second...

Guitarist Bittencourt says: "This video is a reflection about who we are really following as leaders and who we are unconsciously worshiping with our acts. People might believe that they worship God and follow specific values, but in reality they have other priorities such as work, social position, food, social media, pleasure etc. Our highest values play a very small part in the way we behave. Most of us in contemporary society are addicted to being connected to the internet, networks, and social media. An illness that has become normal. It all starts with the fact that most of our work and survival depends on it, and ends on the sense of emptiness and anxiety when our phones are off. That makes us all very passive to the influence of all sorts of truths being bombarded simultaneously through what we follow. While our brains are numb and receptive, we're commanded by external, also contradictory references. So the gods that rule the world nowadays are the chaos within our own habits, and we're confused searching for vain experiences to fulfill our lonely and empty souls." More...

Angra Debuts "Ride Into The Storm" Video

"Saddle" your ears as Brazilian progressive power metal legends Angra "Ride Into The Storm" with us today! After unveiling further details alongside launching pre-orders for new album "Cycles Of Pain" last week, the band finally present the first digital single off the record. Angra's new song has also been captured visually by a team led by Leo Liberti. The official music video in support of the forthcoming album, which will be released on November 3, 2023 through Atomic Fire Records, can be viewed below.

The band states: "'Ride Into The Storm' is a relentless and aggressive piece that captures the essence of Angra's style. With its fast-paced tempo and modern flair, the song retains the band's distinct DNA while delivering intricate and technically challenging passages; the fusion of traditional and progressive elements pushes the boundaries without sacrificing the band's signature style. 'Ride Into The Storm' is one more step in Angra's evolution, embodying aggression, speed, modernity, and ability in one cohesive and engaging package. The lyrics take us on a powerful and transformative journey, portraying the duality within us as we face both challenges and opportunities. Amidst division and adversity, we find the strength to evolve and grow. Guided by hope and a thirst for truth, we embark on a new crusade, united as warriors of change. With unwavering determination, we fearlessly confront the chaos, embracing transformation and forging our own destiny. The storm becomes our ally, propelling us forward as we ride towards a brighter future." More...

Angra To Release New Album In November

Today, Brazilian progressive power metal legends Angra are thrilled to announce that they have officially signed a deal with Atomic Fire Records! The group's metal leadership began over 30 years ago in 1991. Hailing since then as one of the finest metal acts originating from South America, the last decade saw the addition of vocalist Fabio Lione (Athena XIX, ex-Rhapsody Of Fire, ex-Vision Divine etc.) to their ranks. With Rafael Bittencourt and Marcelo Barbosa on guitars, Felipe Andreoli on bass and Bruno Valverde on drums, Angra have been keeping the momentum and now, joining Atomic Fire Records, they are ready to release their long-awaited 10th studio album titled »Cycles Of Pain« on November 3, 2023. Its launch will be supported by a special release show which will take place at São Paulo, Brazil's Tokio Marine Hall on the same day.

Founding member/guitarist Bittencourt says: "I'm very proud to announce that our newest album will come out on the 3rd of November and it's going to be released and distributed by Atomic Fire Records. We're very proud to be part of the Atomic Fire Records family now. It's a special moment for us in the band.

"For me, who started the band over 30 years ago, but also for everyone in the band, we're now in the third generation which means in the era of our third singer as we have Fabio Lione on vocals. So this will be the third record of the third generation. It's our 10th studio album, so it's like keeping the legacy but also focusing on the future.

"It's very funny to have this partnership with Atomic Fire Records because the word 'Angra' also stands for a place in Brazil where an atomic reactor was built in the 70s. This nuclear power plant is basically created to originate a kind of clean energy, but it's a very powerful one which could save the world in a way, but also destroy it. It'll be a very huge explosion and metaphorically we can say that it's going to be a very strong album and I hope to burn the world with music which can heal the soul of sad and lonely people."

Atomic Fire Records A&R Markus Wosgien says: "I remember receiving the Angra demo »Reaching Horizon« in 1992 for the fanzine I published in the 90s. I fell in love immediately, this was simply a new form of power metal - and after his departure in Viper, André Matos finally had a new home back then. One year later, »Angels Cry,« which I still consider being one of the best power metal albums of all time, was released, and over the years, Angra always developed, but still remained true to themselves. We are more than happy to be a part of their future now and to release their upcoming 10th studio album that blew us away once more. For us, Angra is also a matter to our hearts since they're a band we've always been following, respecting and loving; our whole team is more than proud that the band and their management decided to join our roster and to trust in us."
