Lamb of God Announce 2007 Headlining Tour
Returning to the U.S. after a sold-out tour of Europe, Australia and Japan, Lamb of God is excited to announce a headlining American tour in 2007 with Bay Area Metal Titans Machine Head, modern day metal traditionalists Trivium and France's heaviest metal export Gojira. Having spent the summer of 2006 on the Unholy Alliance Tour with metal pioneer's Slayer and joining Megadeth for the Gigantour tour in September, LOG will kick-off this tour in Dallas on February 16 as they bring their pummeling live show across the U.S. and Canada.
Band drummer Chris Adler states, "When you are a kid, you dream of playing your music in an arena. Once you've done it, you realize how much you miss the power and energy of a kick ass club show. We've been fortunate to be playing some big places as of late, but when we started talking about a spring 2007 Sacrament tour, we agreed (and had heard it repeatedly over the past 2 years from the fans!!!) that it would be incredibly intense for everyone to bring the machine that is LAMB OF GOD back into the clubs.. There is no comparing the connection and shared energy of a club show. The blood, sweat, and beer flying - that's a proper metal show! This is intense music for intense people - we're sick of the seats, the ushers and the lame security guards telling people to calm down!"
"We probably should have left it at that, but in true LAMB OF GOD form we pushed it further. With a little help from our friends, we put an arena show bill together and told our booking agent to put it into the clubs and theaters - and oh yeah, not just any clubs - lets make sure to hit a lot of cities that normally get overlooked. Let's bring the best show we can to the people that have been left waiting for far too long. This is going to be completely out of hand and we can't fucking wait! You have been warned!!!"

3 Inches of Blood Recording New Album
3 Inches of Blood, the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada based metal sextet is back in the studio recording their second Roadrunner album set for a Spring 2007 release. The still untitled album is the follow-up to 3 Inches of Blood’s RR debut, Advance and Vanquish. Famed, Grammy-winning drummer Joey Jordison of Slipknot is producing the new album. "Working with Joey has been awesome so far,” says singer/screamer Jamie Hopper. “He's made a seamless transition onto the 3 Inches of Blood drinking team and is pushing us harder than ever before. We're coming up with some killer stuff, which we can't wait for everyone to hear." Says Jordison, “I've been into 3IOB since Battle Cry Under a Winters Sun. I've wanted to work with them since. Unfortunately, timing didn't work out, but in the spring of 2006, timing was right. The new lineup is lethal, stellar musicians. We honed in on every beat riff and vocal to make this a legendary recording. The musical equivalent to a beheading.”
Darker, tighter and more dangerous than their debut, the new album features songs such as “Night Marauders,” “Goatrider’s Horde,” “Assassins of the Light” and “Black Spire.” With those song titles, the album is sure to be full of vivid imagery, masterful guitar acrobatics and the soaring vocals of Cam Pipes and Jamie Hooper that 3 Inches of Blood is known for. In January, the band will take to the road with Cradle of Filth and unleash the new material to their eagerly awaiting fans.
Since the release of Advance & Vanquish, 3 Inches of Blood have been plundering cities all around the world on tours with Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Chimaira, Exodus and others. The band most recently headlined a North American tour with Early Man and Bad Wizard in support. On October 21st, the members of 3 Inches of Blood lived out their dreams by opening up for legendary metal band Iron Maiden at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Los Angeles, CA.
The upcoming CD will be feature two new members – drummer, Alexie Rodriquez and bassist, Nick Cates.
Poison The Well Finish Tracking New Album
Continuing to keep the public updated on their every musical move, Poison The Well have posted an update regarding the tracking of their new album Versions:
We finished all the tracking for our new record this past Friday. Everything is coming out great and we couldn't be more happy with the way the songs have taken shape. It took us around ten days to lay all the basic tracks down and another two weeks to do vocals and over dubs. All together we have around 24 songs to choose from. There is around fifteen that we're going be considering for the record. The record it self will contain ten to twelve tracks. The remaining songs will be used for B-sides. Tomorrow starts day one of mixing which will take a few weeks to finish up and after the new year it will be mastered.
The band announced last month that they'd signed to Ferret Records after leaving Atlantic Records in June, three years after releasing You Come Before You through the label.
Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza Sign To BMA
Murfreesboro, TN outfit Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza has signed with Black Market Activities, though the deal has yet to be officially announced. Calico System will enter Planet Red in Richmond, VA on January 19th to begin recording a new album. Producing the effort will be Andreas Magnusson and Randy Vanderbilt. Titled "Outside Are The Vultures," the effort is scheduled to hit streets in early-2007 via Eulogy Recordings.
DevilDriver Almost Done Recording Third Album
California’s DevilDriver are hard at work recording their third album for Roadrunner Records at the Sonic Ranch studio outside El Paso, Texas. Producing and mixing the album is Jason Suecof, known for his great work with Trivium, Chimaira, God Forbid, and Bury Your Dead. Engineer Mark Lewis is helping the band in the studio as well. Their recording is almost done, and their last day in the studio is December 17th.
Known for their uniquely sinister sound and dark subject matter, the band is keeping true to form with working song titles including “Damning the Heavens,” “Cattle Call,” “The Last Kind Words” and “Monsters of the Deep.” The album itself is still untitled.
Says frontman Dez Fafara, “In a time when most bands are trying to be Metallica, Pantera, or Iron Maiden, we have made sure our sound is exclusively DevilDriver. The songs are faster and more riffy than on The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand, and there are also more solos. But with all the same groove that makes DevilDriver different.” Obviously satisfied with the progress thus far he adds, “Working with Jason and Mark has been great. They know how to capture the vibe of this band.”
In 2003 DevilDriver released their self-titled debut album and participated in the 2004 Ozzfest tour. The Fury Of Our Maker’s Hand was released in 2005 and was reissued in October as a special-edition version with 6 bonus tracks and a DVD.
DevilDriver’s third release with Roadrunner Records is tentatively due out June 2007.

Drummer Brian Medlin offers an update for the first week’s activity: "Hello everyone!! Things are going great in the studio. We have lots of time, and we are using it to our advantage. We’re keeping it a very relaxed environment which helps spawn more creativity. We’re definitely experimenting with every sound and idea that comes to mind. Here’s how the past week went:
Day 1- We cleaned and reorganized the studio, making it easier to work in and feel a little less cramped. We discussed the overall game plan: our ideas for drum sounds, guitars, vocals, etc. Then Lou and Matt sang “Happy Birthday” to a girl at a diner because she thought they were cute. More...

Gorefest Feels Dani Filth's Curse
Guitarist Frank Harthoorn of the reunited Dutch metallers GOREFEST has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Yet another tour [involving GOREFEST] is being cancelled, this time by Metallysee [booking agency]: 'Metallysee are sorry to announce the cancellation of the 2006 edition of the X-Mas [Festivals] tour. After too many changes from the original line up to the one we finally had secured, followed by the breakup of TRAIL OF TEARS, it became too confusing for the promoters and fans to try and continue this tour. Metallysee and the remaining bands (GOREFEST, BELPHEGOR, PROSTITUTE DISFIGUREMENT, MADDER MORTEM and DARZAMAT) were all aiming for a good festival tour but the odds just weren't in our favor. We thank everyone that put time and effort into this tour.'
"Ever since SIX FEET UNDER pulled out of this tour a couple of months ago, this has been a bit of an ongoing mess. We thought we'd stick with the plan, since this would be about the last chance to do some proper touring for 'La Muerte' before we hit the studio for the next one. When we heard headliner TRAIL OF TEARS split up last week, we already kind of felt this one slipping away, so we suggested to Metallysee we'd head out with a couple of the remaining bands. You know, join forces, cut prices, split the difference and what-not. Metallysee, however, wasn't having any of that, so come the end of 2006 we're looking at three cancelled tours, about 50 cancelled gigs, all within 11 months. That's something, isn't it? Almost looks like that curse Dani Filth put on us back in '94 is finally kicking in.
"Oh well, worse things happen at sea, I guess. Thankfully, Ed [Warby, drums] and Boudewijn [Vincent Bonebakker, guitar] have come up with some frightfully heavy shit for us to play with. They even wrote some songs as well, so for the next months, we'll be throwing riffs, fills, leads and, well, stuff at each other. And while we're having fun doing that, why don't you people head over to our forum and join in the frolics over there? You'll find lots of old ladies to give a right good scare, and who knows, you might even get lucky with some of 'em!"
GOREFEST's latest album, "La Muerte", was released in October 2005 via Nuclear Blast Records.
