3 Inches of Blood, the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada based metal sextet is back in the studio recording their second Roadrunner album set for a Spring 2007 release. The still untitled album is the follow-up to 3 Inches of Blood’s RR debut, Advance and Vanquish. Famed, Grammy-winning drummer Joey Jordison of Slipknot is producing the new album. "Working with Joey has been awesome so far,” says singer/screamer Jamie Hopper. “He's made a seamless transition onto the 3 Inches of Blood drinking team and is pushing us harder than ever before. We're coming up with some killer stuff, which we can't wait for everyone to hear." Says Jordison, “I've been into 3IOB since Battle Cry Under a Winters Sun. I've wanted to work with them since. Unfortunately, timing didn't work out, but in the spring of 2006, timing was right. The new lineup is lethal, stellar musicians. We honed in on every beat riff and vocal to make this a legendary recording. The musical equivalent to a beheading.”
Darker, tighter and more dangerous than their debut, the new album features songs such as “Night Marauders,” “Goatrider’s Horde,” “Assassins of the Light” and “Black Spire.” With those song titles, the album is sure to be full of vivid imagery, masterful guitar acrobatics and the soaring vocals of Cam Pipes and Jamie Hooper that 3 Inches of Blood is known for. In January, the band will take to the road with Cradle of Filth and unleash the new material to their eagerly awaiting fans.
Since the release of Advance & Vanquish, 3 Inches of Blood have been plundering cities all around the world on tours with Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Chimaira, Exodus and others. The band most recently headlined a North American tour with Early Man and Bad Wizard in support. On October 21st, the members of 3 Inches of Blood lived out their dreams by opening up for legendary metal band Iron Maiden at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Los Angeles, CA.
The upcoming CD will be feature two new members – drummer, Alexie Rodriquez and bassist, Nick Cates.
