I don't know if anyone has heard this, but slipknot are not making anymore records for a couple of years. Corey and jim want to contnuie stone sour>;. I guess they think that they can goe farther and make more money and mainstream success with stone sour than with slipknot. It would not surprise me if slipknot breaks up because of the success of stone sour

stone sour is a really talented band and i think that since corey and jim put so much hard work into slipknot over the last ten years they really deserve the success of come what (ever) may and i truly doubt slipknot will break up because of it

They already said that Slipknot isn't going to break up, they're just going to take a little break. I saw them in 2005 and they said that they'll be back for sure they just want to do their own things for a little while. And I think it's funny that the first post here said he hasn't even heard the album and said they could have done a whole lot more. If you feel that way you should at least have something backing it up and not just hearing the one song. That's definitely the most mainstream song on the album so before you make snap judgements about the entire album why don't you listen to it and then come back. If you feel the same why then that's fine, at least you'll have something to back it up.

Well if there's not another Slipknot album till 2008 then whatever. It's their decisions and if they want to do this it's not going to hurt them in any way at all. It's already gone gold so it's not like it was a total blowout and they didn't sell any albums.

There are some things that just need to be said, despite how p.c. it may or may not be. One example is this sad but true statement:

Corey Taylor's voice sounded much better when he was an alcoholic.

Sorry, but compare some of his old sh** to his new sh**, and the difference is astounding. He was better vocally when his throat was bathed in alcohol. This isn't a complete putdown, don't get me wrong. I actually think that Come What(ever) May features some of Taylor's best lyrics. But his voice on the record sounds hollow and weak. But even so, that 30-30-150 song is pretty catchy...

slipknot and stone sour don't compare - they're two different styles. slipknot are heavier, so who is a better band can't really be said. corey's vocals are really awesome in both bands (alcoholic and not).
sure the tunes are overplayed but doesn't that just say how good they actually are?

Good for Stone Sour. Such an exceptional album from such a mediocre band! Seriously, I was pretty shocked when I heard it. I still think that Corey''s become a little too pious and self-righteous, but all frontmen do that eventually. He still deserves to fall asleep on a couch at a party and have his mouth filled with miscellaneous items such as cigarette butts, human butts, and random dongs, but I give him props for Come What(ever) May. He should be drawn and quartered for Vol. 3, though.
