Dutch thrashers DEAD HEAD have uploaded several new live videos to MySpace.com. Check out performance clips of "From Belial" (video), Phantom Palace" (video) and "Unholy" (video), shot in February 2006 in Zwolle, Holland.

Lost Eden Sign With Candlelight Records
Japan's LOST EDEN has inked a deal with Candlelight Records. The band came together in 2000 when Norio (vocals), Adachi (guitar), Run (guitar), Daisuke (bass), Chang (drums) decided to form a hardcore/metal group. The act's first milestone was in 2002 when they had two songs included on the compilation album "Surplus Suppression 3". In the spring of 2003, Sensyu joined as their new drummer, and Chang switched to guitar. This new three-guitar line up immediately hit the studio to record their debut single "Sewn Mouth Forest" as they continued to fuse their metallic hardcore sound with black and death metal elements. This release was followed by extensive national touring. More...
Unholy Sign With Lambgoat Records
Lambgoat Records has officially signed Syracuse, NY metal/hardcore outfit UNHOLY. The band features former members of such groups as THE PROMISE, ANOTHER VICTIM, GODBELOW, THE PATH OF RESISTANCE, and SANTA SANGRE.
Having released an EP earlier this year with Closed Casket Activities, UNHOLY will enter New York's Moresound Studios on January 11 with Jocko Randall (ED GEIN, FROM A SECOND STORY WINDOW) to record their debut full-length. The effort should surface May 2007. In the interim, material from their EP can be heard at www.myspace.com/unholy.
Flametal Sign With Powerslave Records
Hotly tipped San Francisco-based flamenco/metal hybrid band FLAMETAL, which features in its ranks current WHITESNAKE bassist Uriah Duffy, has inked a deal with Powerslave Records. The group's latest album, "The Elder", will be released in Japan on April 4, 2007 in an all-new edition, featuring all eight U.S. version tracks (available at CDBaby.com) with new vocals, plus four bonus cuts. A video for the new bonus track "Anda Jaleo" is available at this location ("Anda Jaleo" is originally a traditional Andalucian flamenco song in the 12/8 rhythmical form of bulerias).
Commented FLAMETAL leader Benjamin Woods: "We try and pay respect to flamenco and make it as metal as possible. Since half our group are authentic flamenco performers, our music was the first metal to follow the rhythms and tonalities found in flamenco that are so rich and vast. I am pleased to see others experimenting with these styles, such as my buddy Marc Rizzo [of SOULFLY] (incredible talent), IMPUREZA, BREED 77, RAZA DE ODIO, and I'm sure there will be more. The influence of flamenco on metal should be a lot more than just playing a Spanish guitar in a metal song — it takes years and years of diligent dedication and study. We hope to expose the audience to something different. It's definitely not for everyone, and that's fine."

Threshold Announce New Album Title
U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD have changed the projected title of their new album to "Dead Reckoning" from the previously announced "Pilot in the Sky of Dreams".
On the change of album title, keyboardist Richard West commented, "We decided that the working title 'Pilot in the Sky of Dreams' was more suitable as a song title — it didn't sound solid or powerful enough to represent the overall sound of the album."
"Dead Reckoning" was produced by Karl Groom and Richard West at Thin Ice Studios. The track listing is as follows:
01. Slipstream
02. This Is Your Life
03. Elusive
04. Hollow
05. Pilot In The Sky Of Dreams
06. Fighting For Breath
07. Disappear
08. Safe To Fly
09. One Degree Down
Despised Icon Loses Guitarist
Despised Icon guitarist Yannick St-Amand is leaving the band to focus on his family and career. The group comments:
"It’s hard to see him go. We can’t thank him enough for his contribution to this band and we’ll always remember the good times we all had. We wish him the best with his wife and new born child. Yannick will now be a full-time studio engineer and producer, with our new record being next in line for him. The recording starts January 2nd! Yannick will produce everything, then head over to the UK with Eric to hook up with Andy Sneap and oversee the mixing. Eric and Alex P. have worked hard writing most of this record and we’re all stoked about it!"
As expected, the Montreal, Canada band is now in search of a replacement. Here's the official word:
"We’re looking for a good guy/experienced guitarist that is ready to tour right away. To audition, learn “Bulletproof Scales” and “Warm Blooded”. The tabs can be found here. Tape yourself playing the songs, upload the footage and send us a link to your video at despisedicon@yahoo.ca.
As previously reported, Despised Icon are planning to record a new album in 2007 with an expected release of March or April. At that point, they will hit the road again in support of the yet-title album.
